What Does Penguin Recover Look Like?
-
Is a recovery from Penguin immediate once Google recognized that you've fixed the problem or is it a slow and steady recovery?
I think we may have fixed our issue which is why we're seeing an immediate spike in traffic from Google organic search results. Our daily traffic was up more than 100% in a single day.
Is this a recovery? At which speed have other sites you manage recovered?

Being Penguin a link penalty, once you clean the "infected" link profile, then the recovery should quite fast after the penalty is lifted.
Said that, cannot be addressed a black or white kind of answer, because if the links eliminated were representing the biggest % of all the links, than the site won't jump back to the old traffic volume for the simple fact that it misses now those benefits those links were offering until Penguin.
But if the % wasn't huge and new better links had been created while eliminating the bad ones, then it is possible to see traffic having a steep recover as the one shown in your analytics.
Said that, this is just my opinion based over what I've seen, hence don't take it as it was the rule

Recovering from a Redesign?
We recently redesigned a client's website, updated SEO (page titles, descriptions, internal linking), and have experienced a massive drop both in organic and direct search traffic. We had an issue with the sitemap that I resolved last week, but traffic doesn't show any signs of recovering. What should I expect and what can I do to get back to where we were? The site is www.rugcare.com, if anyone wants to take a look.

Does Automated High Quality Content Look Like Low Quality to Search Engines?
I have 1,000+ pages that all have very similar writing, but different results.
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | khi5
Example:
Nr of days on market
Average sales price
Median sales price
etc etc etc All the results are very different for each neighborhood. However, as per the above, the wording is similar. The content is very valuable to users. However, I am concerned search engines may see it as low quality content, as wording is identical across all these pages (except the results). Any view on this? Any examples to back up such views?0 -
Is it possible to get job pages in the SERPs to compete against the likes on Monster and Indeed?
Is it possible to get job pages in the SERPs to compete against the likes on Monster and Indeed? I'm looking to build specific pages for jobs that are posted on our website, but I feel it's a tough challenge for any site to compete? Are there better options?

New Website Look/Structure - Should I Redirect or Update Pages w/ Quality Inbound Links
This questing is regarding an ecommerce website that I hand wrote(html) in 1997. One of the first click and buy websites, with cart/admin system that I also developed. After all this time, the Old plain HTML look just doesnt cut it. I just updated to XHTML w/ a very modern look, and believe the structured data will index better. All products and current category pages will have the identical vrls taken from the old version. I decided to go with the switch after manual penalty, which has since been removed... I figured now is the time to update. My big question is that over the years, a lot of my backlinks came from products/news that are either no longer relevant or just not available. The pages do exist, but can only be found from the Outbound Link Source. For SEO purposes, I have thought a few things I can do but can't decide which one is the best choice. Any Insight or suggestions would be Awesome! 1. Redirect the old link to the most relevant page in my current catalog. 2. Add my new header/footer to old page(this will add a navigation bar w/ brands/cats/etc) 3. Simply add a nice new image to the top of these pages linking home & update any broken/irrelevant links. I was also considering adding just the very top 2 inches of my header(logo, search box, phone, address) *note, some of these pages do receive some traffic. Nothing huge, but consider the 50+ pages, it ads up.

Getting out of Google's Penguin
Hi all, my site www.uniggardin.dk has lost major rankings on the searchengine google.dk. Went from rank #2-3 on important keywords to my site, and after the latest update most of my rankings have jumped to #12 - #20. This is so annoying, and I really have no idea what to do. Can it cause bad links to my site? In that case what will I have to do? Thanks in advance,

How to tackle google penguin algorithmic penalty?
My Website ranking went down mid of april, I sent a Reconsideration request and the reply was : “ We reviewed your site and found no manual actions by the webspam team that might affect your site's ranking in Google. If you've experienced a change in ranking which you suspect may be more than a simple algorithm change, there are other things you may want to investigate as possible causes, such as a major change to your site's content, content management system, or server architecture.” My site was classic asp and i change that to a new word press theme I change the site structure and created new fresh content on the entire site focusing on user experience. But still no positive result in the ranking. I further did a test and created 3 new landing pages that target long tail keywords with low competition. Once these pages got indexed the start appearing on first page for couple of days and then gradually the started to go down in ranking now they are not in the top 10 pages. Now someone told me to buy a new domain and start fresh before i follow this route I would like to if anyone could help me should i buy a new domain and start fresh or should i wait till i start getting my ranking back My link profile according to open site explorer is 190 links from 74 domains and domain authority is 31. Can anyone help please

Google Penguin Penalty
Howdy Guys,
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | ScottBaxterWW
We have been battling our way the Google penguin penalty and have just received our 3 knocked back reconsideration request. I posted a find on here the other day about a simple change of page title made our site jump back up... In the meantime I've built 1 hight quality link back to our site and we have moved again from #50 to #46.Have Google ever removed a penalty without telling you?Should we ask for another reconsideration request? Thanks,
