GWT Crawl Error Report Not Updating?
-
GWT's crawl error report hasn't updated for me since April 25. Crawl stats are updating normally, as are robots.txt and sitemap accesses. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks for the tip, Jacob! I was indeed back in business about a week later. I will keep seroundtable.com on my quick list for any such situations in the future.

Hey TP,
This is quite an old question so you may have seen movement by now. Any update?
Did a quick search of the GWMT help forums and found this:
http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/webmasters/pkirhRejNYE
Several other people with the exact same issue (same date too!).
Looks like many are back in business. GWMT periodically has issues similar to this so I'd just stay calm
Barry over at http://www.seroundtable.com/ seems to cover these bugs more than most so check that site once in a while for errors like this.
Hope you're better now!
Jacob

Content update on 24hr schedule
Hello! I have a website with over 1300 landings pages for specific products. These individual pages update on a 24hr cycle through out API. Our API pulls reviews/ratings from other sources and then writes/updates that content onto the page. Is that 'bad"? Can that be viewed as spammy or dangerous in the eyes of google? (My first thought is no, its fine) Is there such a thing as "too much content". For example if we are adding roughly 20 articles to our site a week, is that ok? (I know news websites add much more than that on a daily basis but I just figured I would ask) On that note, would it be better to stagger our posting? For example 20 articles each week for a total of 80 articles, or 80 articles once a month? (I feel like trickle posting is probably preferable but I figured I would ask.) Is there any negatives to the process of an API writing/updating content? Should we have 800+ words of static content on each page? Thank you all mozzers!

Having issues crawling a website
We looked to use the Screaming Frog Tool to crawl this website and get a list of all meta-titles from the site, however, it only resulted with the one result - the homepage. We then sought to obtain a list of the URLs of the site by creating a sitemap using https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/. Once again however, we just go the one result - the homepage. There is something that seems to be restricting these tools from crawling all pages. If you anyone can shed some light as to what this could be, we'd be most appreciative.

Reviewing Category & Tag policy - Update
I recently (http://moz.com/community/q/less-tags-better-for-seo) started reviewing my category and tag policy, and things have been going very well. I thought I would share what I have done: Removed all tags from site Added unique descriptions for each post for the category excerpt. Only had the category description on the first page and use the description like a post to summarise and interlink to sub-categories or posts. This keeps pages from slipping down the number of clicks until it can be reached, improving link juice distribution. I also reduced the number of posts showing to 5, to allow more focus on the description (main part) of the category post. To add the category description on the first category page only in Wordpress, you need to go to the category.php or archive.php and change: to The overall aim was to have a hierarchal resource contained in the category page description. Whilst this is still a work in progress, you can see an example of what I am trying to achieve here: https://www.besthostnews.com/web-hosting-tutorials/cpanel/ https://www.besthostnews.com/web-hosting-tutorials/cpanel/mail/ If you have any further tips and advice as I continue to implement this (with good results so far), please feel free. Also, you can use the Visual Term Description Editor plugin to allow the wysiwyg editor for the category descriptions.

How important is it to fix Server Errors?
I know it is important to fix server errors. We are trying to figure out how important because after our last build we have over 19,646 of them and since google only gives us a 1000 at a time the fastest way to tell them we have fixed them all is to use the api etc which will take time. WE are trying to decide is it more important to fix all these errors right now or focus on other issues and fix these errors when we have time, they are mostly ajax errors. Could this hurt our rankings? Any thoughts would be great!

Why is Google Reporting big increase in duplicate content after Canonicalization update?
Our web hosting company recently applied a update to our site that should have rectified Canonicalized URLs. Webmaster tools had been reporting duplicate content on pages that had a query string on the end. After the update there has been a massive jump in Webmaster tools reporting now over 800 pages of duplicate content, Up from about 100 prior to the update plus it reporting some very odd pages (see attached image) They claim they have implement Canonicalization in line with Google Panda & Penguin, but surely something is not right here and it's going to cause us a big problem with traffic. Can anyone shed any light on the situation??? Duplicate%20Content.jpg

Does Bing(and Yahoo)Crawl AJAX Based Content?
I found this article and Bing appeared to at this time have a checkbox for the option for AJAX handling although looking at the Bing Webmaster Tools it doesnt appear that this option is available. Has it just been completely integrated now, relieving webmaster from needing to check the option or is it no longer supported? http://searchengineland.com/bing-now-supports-googles-crawlable-ajax-standard-84149
