Tips do join 2 domains
-
I would like to move all my old domain content ( dicasdogoogle.com.br) with more than 1200 tutorials pages to a new one (seomartin.com)... and then unify them.
I´m using wordpress in both but the permalinks are different... Any tips 4 me folks?

thanks Dan, really helpful !-)

Hey There
OK, this should be pretty straightforward then;
1. Create a new section for the new blog where the old content will go (basically a page that's a blog "homepage").
2. Export all the old content from the old blog using WordPress' export function.
3. Have your redirects ready to go - some people like using just the .htaccess file, some prefer the redirection plugin. Either way, you'll want to maintain ownership of course of the old domain name. Individually redirect every piece of content to it's new home.
4. Import the posts to the new blog.
5. Put the redirects in place. Obviously check everything really well.
I wouldn't use the move domain tool in WMT since you're not doing a direct 1:1 move.
Hope that helps!

thanks Dan,
- are you moving just blog posts, or are you moving pages too?
Only Blog Posts - when you say "combine" do you mean put the old blog posts into the new blog section on the new site?
YEAP! - you're going to maintain the same theme as is currently on SEO Martin?
YEAP! - how do you want this transition to appear publicly? Just that one day, all of a sudden both sites will be combined? Or are you going to do it in stages?
The fastest as possible, (no stages) - what are you going to do with the old domain? redirect the old URLs to the corresponding new content?
I don´t know... I can redirect posts urls to the new site or just use as second domain, in this case i´m wondering to redirect the same way because permalinks are little bit different
I also know google webmaster tool have a "move your domain" section... but i´cant find information if I should use that before or after the "move" ... thanks Dan !-)

This really depends on the specifics of what you need to do. In other words;
- are you moving just blog posts, or are you moving pages too?
- when you say "combine" do you mean put the old blog posts into the new blog section on the new site?
- you're going to maintain the same theme as is currently on SEO Martin?
- how do you want this transition to appear publicly? Just that one day, all of a sudden both sites will be combined? Or are you going to do it in stages?
- what are you going to do with the old domain? redirect the old URLs to the corresponding new content?
Whatever the case, you'll probably need some arrangement of these;
If you want to leave some more specifics, myself or someone else could chime in with more info.
I also wouldn't rule out developing the whole thing on a dev server first.

Redirection of 100 domain to Main domain affects SEO?
Hi guys, An email software vendor managed by a different area of my company redirected 100 domains used for unsolicited email campaigns to my main domain. These domains are very likely to get blacklisted at some point. My SEO tool now is showing me all those domains as "linking" to my main site as do-follow links. The vendor states that this will not affect my main domain/website in any way. I'm highly concerned. I would appreciate your professional opinion about this. Thanks!!

How to Handle Spammy Top Referring Domains
We keep getting links from the domain lyricswithoutmelody.org. Currently we have the most referring backlinks of all from them. I'm not sure what to do with it... is it hurting us? I know I can disavow them, but I'm afraid it will hurt since we have 472 total backlinks from the domain. Their trust flow is 9 and citation flow is 11. Another option I was thinking is to block the domains IP from seeing our website, would that work? Just trying to figure out the best coarse of action... or if no action at all is best. I've attached a screenshot of my top referring domains. The ones outlined in red I don't know who they are and if it's helping or hurting. Moz Fam HELP! Ijb09DNhIW5

Consolidating Multiple Domains into A Single Domain
I have a client who's website is an amalgamation of multiple domains. jacksonhole.net is the main domain but the site passes traffic back and forth from the following domains/sites. My questions is, would it it be better for SEO to consolidate all of these domains under the single high authority domain and 301 redirect the rest or is that a really bad idea? Thanks for your help. jacksonhole.net (Domain Authority 31) jackson-hole-rental-condos.com (Domain Authority 22) jackson-hole-rental-homes.com (Domain Authority 21) j acksonholehotelguide.com (Domain Authority 19)

Should I serve images from the same Top level domain as the current domain?
We run a multidomain e-commerce website that targets each country respectively: .be -> Belgium .co.uk -> United Kingdom etc... .com for all other countries We also serve our product images via a media subdomain eg. "media.ourdomain.be/image.jpg"
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | jef2220
This means that all TLD's contain the images of the .be media subdomain. Which is acually seen as an outbound link. We are considering to change this setup so that it serves the images from the same domain as the current TLD, which would make more sense: .be will serve images from media.ourdomain.be .co.uk -> media.ourdomain.co.uk etc.. My question is: Does google image search take the extension of the TLD into consideration? So that for example German users will be more likely to see an image that is served on a .de domain?0 -
2 URLS pointing to the same content
Hi, We currently have 2 URL's pointing to the same website (long story why we have it) - A & B. A is our main website but we set up B as a rewrite URL to use for our Pay Per Click campaign. Now because its the same site, but B is just a URL rewrite, Google Webmaster Tools is seeing that we have thousands of links coming in from site B to site A. I want to tell Google to ignore site B url but worried it might affect site A. I can't add a no follow link on site B as its the same content so will also be applicable on Site A. I'm also worried about using Google Disavow as it might impact on site A! Can anyone make any suggestions on what to do, as I would like to hear from anyone with experience with this or can recommend a safe option. Thanks for your time!

Domain and Sitemap Question
Hi - I am hoping you can help me with this issue we are currently trying to solve. We are hosting our mobile site's content on a different domain than what the URL of the site is, though owned by same company. In Google Webmasters tool we have the mobile sitemap under "sitemaps.xyz.com", however the URL of the site is "m.xyz.com". We have submitted 60MM pages in the mobile sitemap, but only 1MM pages have been indexed. Do you think this set up causes confusion with the bots? Does this affect the crawlability of the site? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
