How does link juice work? My site structure is wrong? [HELP PLEASE]
-
Hi guys,
I sell cartridges for printers and i'm struggerling to rank a lot of printers.
I've been told it's all about domain authority and it'll pass down to these pages, however I can't see it happening, nor can I wait for it to happen.
Should I rethink my categorys? I've got subcategorys in subcategorys in subcategorys - probably not advised because of link juice right?
e.g Epson Stylus SX130 Ink would be located below.
- Epson > Epson Stylus Series>Epson Stylus SX Series>Epson Stylus SX130 Ink

I read sometime ago a good structure is to have every page on the site accesiblie in 3 clicks.
Don't create orphan pages, always have the same link block/menu on every page and you should be ok.
Site structure is only about 10% of the issue.
You need relevant titles/content and links coming into your site to rank well.

Best review sites for SaaS vendor
My client is a SaaS developer and I would like to begin some review acquisition activity. Just wondering if there is any knowledge out there with regards to what review sites google scrapes or uses as an indicator for such products (Yelp and Yellow pages not too helpful in this scenario). I have narrowed down Capterra, G2 Crowd and GetApp as having a good following - but any insights would be much appreciated.

My 40 year old, well established business has a brand name that I think is hurting my SEO. Need advice please.
Our business brand name has words in it which when we were using it as our domain name, was a) bad for our SEO and b) got our emails marked as spam in our client's inboxes. This was not a problem when we first got online, years ago. It eventually became problematic, but we didn't realize it for some time. When we realized the issue, we simply changed our domain name to something more SEO friendly, using exact match keywords. This was fine for a while, but eventually, algorithms changed again, and now with Google putting an emphasis on Brand Names and not looking as kindly on exact match keyword type domains, we are again at a place where we don't know what to do. We can't change our brand name. I don't want to post our real name or business here, but I will give an example. Brand Name: Living Free Travel The Issue: "Free Travel" gets blocked by spam filters, gets us useless traffic from people looking for free travel (which makes out bounce rates very high), gets our domain blacklisted. The Solution: travel2europe.com is the website of Living Free Travel The New Issue: travel2europe.com is not our brand, and probably doesn't look like one to Google, especially since on our site, travel2europe.com is never really mentioned because it is only our domain, not our brand. "Living Free Travel" is generally the anchor text for travel2europe.com wherever we are linked to. We assume this mismatch is problematic for us in ways we don't even know. Are we screwed? Need advice, please. THANK YOU.

New site just launched - would appreciate some feedback!
Hi, Some may have seen me around the forum recently asking a few questions about my website which was being re-vamped. Well its now live. www.followuk.co.uk Would love some actionable advice / constructive criticism. Website background: It started life as a website displaying dates for UK bank holidays, noticed some good traffic/sharing so decided to open it up to UK occasions. This resulted in more traffic and social sharing so over the last month I have re-built the whole website to be responsive and 'I hope' professional / interesting to visitors. I also opened it up further into other UK dates such as sporting events and festivals - these categories will gain more pages as well as new categories to come. I'm hoping to turn it into a little UK resource for this type of content. Thank you.

Is it OK to have two similar business sites share their Social Media (just one FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)?
These two businesses are owned by the same company (industry is event planning). The parent company has been in business 20+ years and caters to a corporate crowd and the more recent company started by the parent caters to consumers (weddings). Would this have any negative seo implications if they share social media accounts? or is this perhaps just more of a strategic issue i gather. And i would gather that its best for each to have their own blog. Would greatly appreciate some insight! Thanks, Christian

Is duplicating video across several sites a bad thing?
Hi, We have a fairly successful YouTube Channel where we create unique and helpful videos that are related to our core business activity. When we create these videos would you consider it a bad thing to not only post them on YouTube but also a couple of the smaller sites such as Metacafe and Dailymotion? Sending to multiple sites would possibly achieve more total views but would this kind of duplication potentially be harmful to the overall success of the video and have a knock on effect when it comes to how it ranks in Google? Thanks for your help.

UGC Brainstorming - Need Some Help!
Hi All, I'm helping a client build an e-commerce store from the ground up, which sells class rings to high school students. Not a novel product, but they have a nice URL - WearMyStory.com, and are thinking through creative ways to reach the market by letting users share their stories with UGC. I have some ideas, but could use some help. I think using video/picture/essay contests for students to share their stories is a great way to get buzz and grow socially. What I don't know is how to capture all of this great UGC for SEO purposes. Do you know of any great sites with brilliant UGC strategies (outside of reviews, etc.)? Do you have any examples of software companies who help you leverage the UGC into SEO gold? I'm trying to find great examples of frameworks where sites are leveraging the UGC. The other wall I am hitting is how to create a community when it is simply a one time purchase e-commerce product. If a customer buys a ring (or any product for that matter), what would keep them coming back to the site? Any good examples out there that you can think of? Thanks!
