Any recommendations on how to find non-branded keyword phrases revealing searcher’s intent with high volume and CPC?
-
-Most of the organic keywords driving traffic to our website are branded.
-I’ve used UberSuggest, but those keyword phrases tend to have low CPC and low volume
-Thus, the UberSuggest keywords usually produce a low benefit & K.O.B score.

Trying to find "non-branded keyword phrases revealing searcher’s intent with high volume and CPC?" is a bit like looking for the holy grail.
Some things to remember.
1. CPC is just one measure of the competitiveness of a keyword. It's related to the value others place on this keyword and how much they are prepared to spend to try and capture traffic by advertising. It doesn't necessarily reflect the value of this traffic to your business. And if they keyword is competitive, how confident are you that you can rank for this keyword?
2. As a general rule, the more generic the keyword, the higher the search volume, but the lower the commercial intent. (If I search for "dogs" you can't tell what I'm after, if I search for "puppy training bristol" then you know exactly what I'm looking for and where.
So, if I run a puppy training service, which traffic is worth more to me? Millions of hits for "dogs" or <10 visits a month of high intent traffic around a keyword that actually relates to my business? (I don't train puppies by the way!)
3. Remember the long-tail. If you have a content rich website you will find that while your branded/head terms have higher volume, you should be getting lots of visits from low volume search terms.
For one of my highest traffic sites, my strongest keyword provides less than 15% of total search traffic. Most of my search traffic comes from keywords with almost no volume. Keywords that I have never considered!

Don't get overly obsessed by high traffic volumes. You run the risk of crowding out the people that really matter. You need to look at the value of the traffic to you vs the competition/effort you'll need to spend creating great targeted content.
4. Remember your goals! Unless you're making an income from on-page ads then your goal is unlikely to be "get more traffic". For a business, your trying to get more sales leads, more higher margin leads. You don't always need high volumes of traffic to achieve these business goals. How much revenue does the site need to deliver?
5. Be realistic. If you're running a very small niche business, you're unlikely to attract high volumes of visitors. What you need to focus on is making sure that you get in front of the right people. The people that will help your meet those goals!
Some thoughts that might help:
Define your (true) goals at the start and keep them in mind as you work through the process.
Before you start your keyword research, try to identify who your customers really are. The better you can understand your target audience the easier it will be to write content for them. Don't assume that you know who they are or what they really think.
Can you talk / interview your past customers? If you can, try to capture their thoughts/words using a voice recorder. It's important to understand the words that they use when talking about your products/services and their needs/motivations.
Look at any testimonials, customer feedback or comments. You don't need to limit this to your own site, take a look at your competitors or any forums/social places that your customers congregate. Don't be afraid to engage your target audience - just do so in a friendly authentic manner.
Write content that speaks to this audience. What matters to them. What are they most concerned about and what are their concerns etc. Write broadly around specific topic topics that matter to you and your audience.
Look at the keywords that people are using to find your site (even the low volume ones). Look for common themes/topics. Can you create better content around these topics (you can look at your bounce rates to see if the landing pages around these topics are doing their job), again, you need to consider intent. People may have got the answer they're looking for and left.
Instead of optimising for keywords, think about optimising around topics.
Do you have site search on your website? I find that this can provide a great insight into what your visitors expect to find on your site. You should definitely review this regularly and use it to inform you content strategy.
Use segmentation in your analytics to understand what different types of search traffic actually means to you.
Focus on what matters.

Hi Andrew,
We've got a few clients that sit in the same situation as yours. I would recommend looking into Google AdWords Keywords Tool and cherry picking keywords that fit your criteria. One thing to note, the data in Google AdWords is a rough estimate based on the previous month's data. Number of keywords for single page website
Hello, i have a question about keywords in Single page website. For how many keywords should i focus in single page website? For example: In my industry are important 2 different keywords - cabinet making and **made to measure furniture. **Should i focus on both keywords or its better to pick better keyword and focus only for that one (of course including different forms of that word and so on). Thank you for help.

Targeted keywords for landing pages but keyword has a lot of synonyms, how is the best way to approach this?
I'm trying to target one page for one broad 2 word keyword, however, because our niche revolves around this keyword and it's synonyms, the keyword is used on every other page, thus creating the issue of non-targeted pages taking the rank instead of targeted page. I've thought of using synonyms on each page, so that no one page uses the same keyword, but felt this could be seen as spammy or could just hurt overall relevancy towards the main keyword, thus a loss of rank. I understand page authority also plays a part, but also seems that every page other than the page I want get's targeted.

How do I use Google Keyword in onsite seo?
Hello to all, I wanted to ask if I am doing this correctly. So I own a Bernese mountain dog website I used the google keyword research tools to view keyword ideas. I listed my results below. So my questions are: 1 - Bernese Mountain Dog Puppies (the keyword) blow away the other keywords. So when you are looking at your sites most popular keywords, do you make the most popular keyword your homepage? Because it gets the most link juice? Like would you build the homepage around the best keyword instead of branding - like the company name etc? Or does it matter? Basically just as long as you use it for one page? 2 - When you have keywords that have parts of other keywords, is it safe to use the longer keyword because it has parts of the other phrases? Such as Bernese mountain dog puppies for sale is a part of Bernese mountain dog puppies for sale in Colorado. So if you use bernese mountain dog puppies for sale in Colorado, it will also hit the bernese mountain dog puppies for sale? ( without the In Colorado) What type of strategy would you use for this type of situation? 3- Lastly, and thank you for your time - I watched a video from a grey hat seo guy. He said to take a keyword or phrase like say Colorado home builders, create a page like example.com/Colorado-home-builders/ Then make you h1 tag - The Best Colorado Home Builders Add The Best Colorado home builders to your meta description and one more time in your h2 tag Then create a Bold, and italic The Best Colorado Home Builders in your unique content paragraphs. So my question is - is this grey hat and bad? Or the standard? I do not want to get hit for over optimizing. So just wanted to ask you opinion first. In the end, I truly thank you for taking the time to read my questions. I appreciate everyone's help and greatly appreciate your knowledge. So my results look like this | bernese mountain dog puppies | 590 | Low | $0.45 | 1% | |
Keyword Research | | Berner
| bernese mountain dog puppies for sale | 90 | High | $0.42 | 9% | |
| bernese mountain dogs | 90 | Low | $0.37 | 0% | |
| bernese mountain dog puppies for sale in colorado | 30 | Medium | $0.76 | 0% | |
| bernese mountain dog breeders in colorado | 20 | Medium | $0.32 | 0% | |
| bernese mountain dogs colorado | 40 | Low | $0.08 | 0% | |

Why are all my keywords rated "highly competitive"?
I am using the Keyword Analysis tool and it is telling me that almost all the keywords I put in are "highly competitive" even though there is very little competition on Google. Example: I enter the keyword "christian web designers" on Google, United Kingdom It then reports that this keyword is 53% Highly Competitive. However I Google this term in quotes and there is less then 4,000 results. I also enter this keyword into Traffic Travis which tells me the the difficulty is Relatively Easy. Am I doing something wrong here?

Why does google's autocomplete not align with google's keyword tool?
Is google autocomplete based solely off keyword search volume? Or is there some other factors i am missing here? Here's an example: Auto complete suggestions for 'storage toronto': [storage toronto cost] [storage toronto downtown] [storage toronto rates] [storage toronto leaside] [storage toronto prices] [storage toronto dupont] [storage toronto laird] [storage toronto eastern ave] [storage toronto ontario] Google adwords keyword tool results for these: <colgroup><col width="151"> <col width="129"> <col width="169"></colgroup>
Keyword Research | | adriandg
| Keyword | Global Monthly Searches | Local Monthly Searches |
| [storage toronto cost] | 0 | 0 |
| [storage toronto downtown] | 36 | 28 |
| [storage toronto rates] | 0 | 0 |
| [storage toronto leaside] | 0 | 0 |
| [storage toronto prices] | 73 | 73 |
| [storage toronto dupont] | 0 | 0 |
| [storage toronto laird] | 0 | 0 |
| [storage toronto eastern ave] | 0 | 0 |
| [storage toronto ontario] | 0 | 0 | So here is what i find confusing: If [storage toronto cost] is the top suggestion for [storage toronto...] then why does google say it has 0 monthly searches? Why isn't [storage toronto downtown] the first suggestion? or better yet, why isn't [storage toronto prices] the top suggestion? So either: 1) google adwords keyword tool is wrong. or 2) google suggest isn't based on just volume?? I've run these same keywords through Bing's Excel keyword information spreadsheet query and it came back saying all keywords had 0 searches ever, except for...drumroll: [storage toronto prices] with 7 monthly searches, once, in august, and 0 all other months. Now i assume that bing/yahoo numbers are significantly smaller, but this does show that that the same keyword is the most popular, so in some way suggests that google's keyword is accurate. So i guess this brings be back to my confusion, what other factors is google's suggest based on, because it obviously isn't primarily search volume. And yes, i have made sure to clear caches, and disable personalized search and search history, and tried the query in several browsers, just to double check i wasn't getting a personalized list, so we can rule that out. Thanks, Storwell.0 -
Site Wide Keyword Extractor
I need a tool or a method that will let me know what a search engine thinks the overall theme of the site is about. Sort of like the keyword extractor, but on a site-wide basis. Does anyone have any sugestions?
