To remove from index or not and stop words
-
Each product is an item of jewellery based on a letter of the alphabet. At present all 26 are indexed but as you guess they all share the same description, title and URL (apart from change in letter).
What I was going to do was set all but one to no-index, recreate new descriptions and revert back to index.
But then that got me thinking - through stop words will the titles be seen as duplicates:
letter bracelet
letter a bracelet
letter i bracelet

Why don't you choose one (e.g. A) and use the rel canonical tag on the others so the A page benefits from any links going into them? This would take care of your duplicate content and duplicate title tag issues at the same time. While "technically speaking" the "B" page isn't really a non-canonical version of the "A" page, I think the tag would work well in this situation since nearly ALL of the content is duplicated.

ok let me rephrase some of this.
How will Google view these 3 URLs and subsequent titles in the same format?
http://www.example.co.uk/bracelet-24kt-gold-vermeil-a.html
http://www.example.co.uk/bracelet-24kt-gold-vermeil-i.html
http://www.example.co.uk/bracelet-24kt-gold-vermeil-o.html
The single characters are excluded from searches unless using "a" etc, but will they be excluded when crawled and be considered duplicate (forgetting content for the moment)?

Should i stop non targeted countries from viewing my site to stop pogo sticking?
i recently Learned that if someone clicks on your site and goes back within a few seconds or maybe a minute and then goes to the next search result that tells Google that previous website was not so good In order to prevent that is it OK to block non-targeted countries from looking at my site that could stop user engagement a little bit I mean is it worth it what do you think?

Image Sitemap for non indexed Products
Hi, we have several ecommerce sites. We want to do an image sitemap, as we have lots of attractive images. The question is, can you put images for non-indexed products there as well, or does that conflict with the normal sitemap (the images would be indexed, the products not)? Thanks in advance. Canonical or No-index
Just a quick question really. Say I have a Promotions page where I list all current promotions for a product, and update it regularly to reflect the latest offer codes etc. On top of that I have Offer announcement posts for specific promotions for that product, highlighting very briefly the promotion, but also linking back to the main product promotion page which has a the promotion duplicated. So main page is 1000+ words with half a dozen promotions, the small post might be 200 words, and quickly become irrelevant as it is a limited time news article. Now, I don't want the promotion page indexed (unless it has a larger news story attached to the promotion, but for this purpose presume it is doesn't). Initially the core essence of the post will be duplicated in the main Promotion page, but later as the offer expires it wouldn't be. Therefore would you Rel Canonical or just simply No-index?

Should I allow a publisher to word-for-word re-publish our article?
A small blog owner has asked if they can word-for-word republish one of our blog articles on their own blog. I'm not sure how to respond. We're don't do any outreach to submit or duplicate our articles throughout the web... so this isn't something being done in mass. And this could be a great signal to Google that somebody else is vouching for the quality of our article, right? However, I'm a bit concerned about word-for-word duplicating. Normally, if somebody is interested in re-publishing, both the re-publisher and our website would get more value out of it if they re-publisher added some form of commentary or extra value to our post when citing it, right? This small blog just started releasing a segment in which they've titled "guest blog Thursday". And given the recent concerns with guest blogging (even though I'm not sure this is the classical sense of guest blogging), I'm even more concerned. Any ideas on how I should respond?

Why would one of our section pages NOT be indexed by Google?
One of our higher traffic section pages is not being indexed by Google. The products that reside on this section page ARE indexed by Google and are on page 1. So why wouldn't the section page be even listed and indexed? The meta title is accurate, meta description is good. I haven't received any notices in Webmaster Tools. Is there a way to check to see if OTHER pages might also not be indexed? What should a small ecom site do to see about getting it listed? SOS in Modesto. Ron

Should I Remove My Articles From Article Directories?
I have been submitting articles to directories for about 3 years. With the Panda update, it seems that these directories are now obsolete. So, if there is no link value from these articles: 1) should I remove these articles (at east the better ones) and place them on my site/blog? 2) If not, would there be any benefit at pointing some bookmarks at these old links to maybe get some juice out of them?
