33k links from Yahoo?
-
Google WMT says I have over 33,000 backlinks from Yahoo.net, linking to 4 different pages on my site. I am not sure if these are nofollow or not, but I would assume they are. It also says I have almost 4,000 links from feedblitz. Should I be concerned or do something about either of these two things? I am pretty unfamiliar with RSS feeds.

Hi there,
It is hard to tell without more information about the links themselves, but I'd suggest that you try to track these links down and work out whether they seem good quality or not. To be honest, it doesn't sound like they are because there are so many only going to a few pages! If they are nofollowed, then they shouldn't really be hurting you, if they are followed, then you may need to decide if you want to try and get them removed - if you feel they are hurting your rankings and have caused the traffic drop you mention.
If they are the cause of a traffic drop, chances are that you'll have received a link warning on Google Webmaster Tools or have a manual action which you can see.
Here are a couple of other articles on link analysis and finding / identifying low quality links which may help you:

I hope that helps!

Our rankings have dropped considerably since the 5/22 Penguin update.

How is your site performing. Has the organic traffic/rankings dropped or do you think you have suffered from any updates. If not , i would not worry too much about it.

In the latest links CSV dating back to 2008, only about 20 links from Yahoo are displayed. Some are from dir.yahoo, and some are from marketplace.news. A search for inurl:yahoo.net websitename shows almost 3,000 results.

hmmm not sure what's going on, so would help to get more granular details.
I would suggest downloading the latest links from GWT, and actually looking at the urls that is linking to you.

Buy domain, redirect, get all the good links (+link juice) and disavow the spammy ones?
There is a domain for sale that has a quite nice profile and a lot of good backlinks, but also quite a few spammy ones. This domain has a Spam Score of 14% acc. to Moz Link explorer, ours has only 2%. My questions: 1. The domain and the good backlinks are related to or close to our content/keywords. But we are worried whether the "spammy" ones will hurt us. Does anyone has experience with this? 2. Would it help if we disavow the spammy backlinks afterwards? And if so, how do we do that? Add new domain to search console, disavow the bad links and then redirect the entire domain to our domain or redirect the domain first and then disavow from our property? Many thanks for your help!

Inbound link is follow link but we put no follow link back - is it beneficial for rankings?
Dear Moz Community, We are operating in a niche market, where there are not so many content marketing options. What we are left with are link exchanging with relevant sites that are on the same topic but to not directly compete with us. Now we know that if we link back to site A and site a links back to us - for google this is not a very good link. But, some of the sites we are exchanging links with, do not know the term follow vs no follow links. My question - if your link is to site A is a no follow link but they give us a follow link - does it mean thats a better option than a follow vs follow. Thanks for help!

Link building - where to start?
Okay - we have around 200 natural links pointing to our domain, some good, some not so good; today I've spent some time removing any bad, spammy links pointing to our business domain and we're just about there. Now I'd like to start a link building strategy. To be fair, I've assumed for the past year or so that link building is dead, unless you can get natural, really good links - which in the mobility and elderly products industry can be quite difficult. I have recently created a blog on our website - could RSS feeds be a benefit too?

Self linking
There are 10 links on page that point to this page where they exist (link to the page itself). Does it influence on ranking?

How many nofollow links should we build to have a natural link profile
Hi guys, As with many link builders we have been building lots of dofollow links for our site, so many that mainly our incoming links are dofollow. Some pages have 99.5% dofollow external links which I know is not very natural. In your experience in terms of percentage how much should you have in terms of nofollow external links in your link profile. I noticed SEOMoz has about 12-13% nofollow external links, shall I go with this figure? Thanks guys. David

Link Ratio
Does Google (or other search engines) penalize websites if they have a too many inbound links from a single domain? (Say for instance, I have 500 inbound links, and 400 of them are from one root domain.)
