It can even take months to update, if you're looking at a page that has low authority.

Depends on how often Google crawls your site. For the site I manage it updates every three/four days.

Do notice though that Google doesn't crawl the whole site or the same pages all the time, so the number of issues you may have could vary

Can we ignore "broken links" without redirecting to "new pages"?

Let's say we have reaplced www.website.com/page1 with www.website.com/page2. Do we need to redirect page1 to page2 even page1 doesn't have any back-links? If it's not a replacement, can we ignore a "lost page"? Many websites loose hundreds of pages periodically. What's Google's stand on this. "Update" in Search Console is NOT an Algo Update

We've had a few questions about the line labeled "Update" in Google Search Console on the Search Analytics timeline graph (see attached image). Asking around the industry, there seems to be a fair amount of confusion about whether this indicates a Google algorithm update. This is not an algorithm update - it indicates an internal update in how Google is measuring search traffic. Your numbers before and after the update may look different, but this is because Google has essentially changed how they calculate your search traffic for reporting purposes. Your actual ranking and traffic have not changed due to these updates. A client asked: "Are you guys aware of any recent changes to Google noquery traffic? I am seeing some chatter around this." Is he referring to "not provided" traffic?

I'm not sure what my client means by this question. I assume he's talking about "not provided" traffic. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks for reading!

When Google crawls and indexes a new page does it show up immediately in Google search - "site;"?

We made changes to a site, including the addition of a new page and corresponding link/text changes to existing pages. The changes are not yet showing up in the Google index (“site:”/cache), but, approximately 24 hours after making the changes, The SERP's for this site jumped up. We obtained a new back link about a couple of weeks ago, but it is not yet showing up in OSE, Webmaster Tools, or other tools. Just wondering if you think the Google SERP changes run ahead of what they actually show us in site: or cache updates. Has Google made a significant SERP “adjustment” recently? Thanks.

Understanding the concept of "Keywords"?

To run my campaigns on SEOmoz or google or other search engines, i need to have some clarity on what exactly a keyword means. firstly, how do the comibnation of different words work? Example : Buy apple laptop in india, 2) Buy apple laptop india 3) apple laptop india Are 1, 2, 3 considered as keywords OR Apple, laptop, India, Buy, considered as keywords? to run campaigns in SEOmoz how do i use the tool more effectively, should i chose how my users would search in the search engine or use certain keywords. in the above example the only difference between 1 & 2 is the word "in", and i see a significant difference in the search results. How do use/target my keywords?
