Title Missing or Empty
-
Hello,
I get a 'Title Missing or Empty' for the following page on our website: http://www.niyati.sg/print-design/57/annual-report-design
This error is seen while checking through other tools like Screaming Frog also. Any idea what the issue may be? The page is generated through a custom CMS, so the title and meta descriptions are created the same way as the other portfolio pages, none of which shows any errors.
Thanks in advance!

No problem my friend. You are most welcome. Once the redirection is in place, please double check that its indeed a 301 and nothing else. You can use any of the HTTP header status checker available online like web-sniffer.net or Screamingfrog.

Thanks a lot Devanur!
I think when we change the URL of a page, our CMS is forwarding the old URL to the new one using a 200 redirect, instead of 301. I will get this corrected in the CMS code and see what happens.
Thanks again for your time and effort!

Hi Ramesh,
Thanks for the info and here is the problem.
This URL, http://www.niyati.sg/print-design/57/booklet-design is pointing to the following URL:
http://www.niyati.sg/print-design/57/annual-report-design
The HTTP header status code is still a 200. This is the issue.
To fix this, you need to redirect the URL, http://www.niyati.sg/print-design/57/booklet-design
via a 301 permanent redirection. A 301 redirection gives an HTTP header status 301 and this tells the search engines that the old URL is no more in force and has been replaced by the new one.
Best of luck my friend.

Thanks for the efforts, Devanur!
Screaming Frog shows '0' as the page title length, which is strange.
I did try 'fetch as Google' earlier, but don't see a change.
I have also attached the error page on Moz.
Thanks!

Thanks Martijn!
Did you mean to submit to 'Fetch as Google' under Webmaster tools?
The 'HTML Improvement' section under Webmaster tools doesn't show any errors though.
Even Google's Structured Data testing tool also shows the page title properly.
I am not too much worried about the page as it is indexed on Google, but was curious to know why the SEO tools show error only for this single page.
Thanks again!

Hi Ramesh,
I checked the URL you gave, http://www.niyati.sg/print-design/57/annual-report-design for missing page title but could not find any issues in there. I used Screamingfrog and others. The page came out with out any issue. I looked at the cache date and it showed 29th August. You can try Fetch as Google in WMT account and then click on Submit to Index.
Best,

Hi Ramesh,
Try to submit the URL in Google Webmaster Tools to see what Google bot thinks about the page. If they see the title tag properly I wouldn't worry to much about the other crawlers. I checked the page and couldn't find anything out of order which could be causing this.
Cheers.

Changed all product titles, lost google schema markup in listings. Temporary?
We changed all of our product titles to be way shorter and less keyword stuffed last week. Short of dropping a few places in rank for most keywords (we assume temporarily) that all went fine. What we didn't expect was to loose all the schema data in our google listings from product pages. Price, and review stars are missing. Has anyone seen this before?

Anything I'm missing as my page just donst seem to rank
I am wandering if anyone can offer any suggestions, we have a page on our site https://www.wilsonfield.co.uk/insolvency-advice/liquidation/ this page is optimised to rank for liquidation however no matter how many links or how optimised the page is it just will not show in the SERPS. Moz gives it a page score of A we have built relevant links directly to the page using appropriate anchor text, have social likes and concentrated of getting more google+ likes. We run a detailed Moz SERP report comparing the above url to the top 10 ranked pages and we are looking competitive if not better on all ranking factors. This is now really frustrating that we arnt even in the top 100 and cant understand why. we have the https version of the site also submitted to webmaster tools and www is set to be the prefered. Has anyone got any ideas as to why google just dosnt like our site, we have no crawl errors we use all best practices.

Tripping versus Tripping.com in title tags?
Hi All, We had a quick question regarding the construction of title tags throughout our site (yay for optimizing!). We were wondering what is considered best practice or what we should be considering when we're deciding how to end our title tags - basically, it's between Tripping and Tripping.com. For example: This is the content | Tripping OR This it the content | Tripping.com Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

Anyone know how to fix duplicate content and titles with news section?
We use django for out site and it's working really well, but we're having an issue with duplicate titles and content via the news section. The news is basically stories sourced from other sites and we link to them via our news section. I'm not sure how to fix the duplicate title issue in this case. I noticed people recommend archiving or using a canonical, but because the news section is set up how it is I don't think that would work. Does anyone have a way around this?A

Duplicate titles / canonical / Drupal
I have a site where there are several duplicate titles, looks like mainly based on a parameterized vs. non-parameterized version of the page. I have what appears to be a proper canonical tag, but webmaster still complains of both duplicate titles & meta descriptions. A good example (taken out of webmaster report for http://igottadrive.com) is: /driving-tips/mirror-setup-and-use /driving-tips/mirror-setup-and-use?inline=true If I look at the page (in either case) there appears to be a correct canonical tag pointing to the base case. However, for some reason google is either ignoring the canonical or its not properly done. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How should I shorten my titles?
I've read that page titles can't/shouldn't be more than 70 characters long. Out of around 1,000 products we have about 150 that have legitimate titles that exceed this character limitation. We plan on automatically truncating these. Should I just cut the titles off at 70 characters or should I cut them off and add a "..."? Does it even matter?

High number of Duplicate Page titles and Content related to index.php
It appears that every page on our site (www.bridgewinners.com) also creates a version of itself with a suffix. This results in Seomoz indicating that there are thousands of duplicate titles and content. 1. Does this matter? If so, how much? 2. How do I eliminate this (we are using joomla)? Thanks.

Am I missing something?
Hey guys, First of all, a big thanks to SEOmoz and the community. I've been an avid reader for about a year now and have seen some great improvements. I'm always focusing my efforts on strategies that work well for my niche. Although I've come accross one of my competitors that doesn't seem to have much going for him, although he ranks very well. His root domain is ****E and the URL where (seemingly) spammed links point to is ***. If you do a site: command he has 1000+ pages although most consist of "events calendar" (empty). Also, I ran some of his content through copyscape and there seems to be multiple versions of it throughout the web. After all this, he ranks very well for money keywords in our niche, although his on-page is horrible so there are many opporunities I've capitalized on. Is there something I'm missing? I'm trying to find the value in his website but its not very clear to me since his backlink profile is (seemingly) junk and his on-page goes against all I was told to implement.
