Are these links to my site bad?
-
I am the owner of two diffrent ecommerce sites. Lets call them A and B. Site A is a larg site with ower 5000 pages. In the footer off site A there is a link to site B. Is it bad for site B to get 5000 links (to homepage) from site A?
Should i remove these types off links?
Thanks for your help!

Thank you for your help. I have changed the links to nofollow.Best,
Marko

Thank you Karl and you are absolutely correct, if at all we go for cross linking, we should ideally no-follow those links just like we no-follow all the out-bound links pointing to websites that we think will be useful for our visitors. For example, a link to Wikipedia from a page on our website.

Totally agree with Devanur here...there is no need for any site-wide link. If there is a link between the two websites then I wouldn't take them off but i would no-follow the link.
-
Absolutely right - I agree with you!

No matter what, site-wide links are not recommended in the post penguin era. Other than the number of links, the intention behind having site-wide links matters which quite doesn't go down Google's throat easily. So better stay away from site-wides and blogrolls.

Are these sites on the same server/ IP Address/ C block? That's also something you might want to look into. If they are probably Google will be able to tell if it's the same server and so they won't give all the link juice.

Hello,
I'll cut straight to my point, my advice would be to set them to nofollow and have the main link on an index/homepage, having that many links won't provide you with any extra real boost. If the site is designed well the follow index link will be just dandy for you. especially if most people link to the homepage on an eCommerce site.
Good luck & I hope this helps

This is tricky thing - you have to give an answer to the question if this is unnatural linkbuilding first?
If a website gets 5000 links over night this is often an very unnatural behaviour and you make yourself suspicious. Making yourself suspicious for Google means that you risk a penalty (manually or automatically) ... furthermore if Google can verify that you own both websites this is just a confirmation for the black hat technique of unnatural link building.
Be careful and start with a slight amount of links... if both shops have the same or lets say similar content then google will allow a natural linkbuilding between them (e.g. we have several subdomains which profit from a lot of crosslinks but they all have been built up over a long periode of time)

Is are Scoopon type sites a good place to get a link?
We have noticed that our competitors have links with equality from sites like this: http://www.groupon.com.au/ Scoopon type sites like this can be an effective way to generate sales for a business, I'm just wondering if these types of sites also have added value for SEO as sites like these do have a strong Domain Authority? Any thoughts on this subject would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Getting a sitewide links from one domain as oppsed to few links from certain pages, a good, bad or horrible idea?
Hello, I have a website that is performing really well in Google for country specific Real Estate Website. I have had this site for just about 2 years and I have 4600+ indexed pages, and about 50 of my main keywords appear in top 10 results on Google. I have now started a second site with a brand new domain, its only about 2 months old. This one is a Travel website and again its country specific (same country that real estate website is performing well in) and since its still building up the content and has barely a couple of backlinks, I am thinking of adding a linkback to it from my Real Estate Site. Is it a good idea to add a site wide link back from header section of the real estate website to my travel website? Both sites has same country and most of the keywords in both relate to this country. Or will I be better off adding a few text links from few pages with best Page Authority? Or - do you suggest that I do not link the two at all? Both sites are hosted on different servers, with different IP's and one is on windows server created in asp.net while another is a magento site. Any advidce / insight will be much appreciated and thank you in advance.

I have links coming from spammy sites that DO NOT exist anymore... Disavow or not?
Hi There !!! I´m cleaning the link profile of one of our sites and making the typical analysis I have found the following scenario: All SEO tools that helped me to gather the data (WMT, opensite, majestic) are showing me that I have links coming from spammy sites that actually are not online any more. In other words, the spammy site where the link is coming is not alive (when I try to check the page itself I´m having a 404 or domain expired). My main question is… Should I disavow these domains links? or should I simply ignore them? We got an unnatural penalty and we are doing the whole proccess (checking sites, contacting, etc….). Many Thanks for your help

Any value in link building to local pages on my site?
If I'm trying to rank for the term 'wedding band' with my url: http://www.musicliveuk.com/home/wedding-bands will linking to local pages such as: http://www.musicliveuk.com/live-acts/hire-wedding-bands/wedding-bands-london help the main page to rank? I added the 'local' pages to try and pick up any traffic from long tail search queries but my main focus is on getting the main page to rank as the traffic from long tail queries is so small. So is it worth me spending time building links to these local pages in order to try and help the main page rank?

Site-wide/Blogroll Anchor Text Linking
I have some blogs that I own with 10,000+ indexed pages of content. I have wondered for sometime if adding anchor text links for my clients on relevant blogs would be helpful or harmful. I realize that having an anchor text link on ONE article page in context is better than 10,000 anchor text links on my blog roll or footer, but I have been reluctant to use this strategy due to the bad press site wide and blogroll links have gotten, What has been YOUR experience with this method?
