How to Optimize Multiple Listing Pages
-
Hello Webmasters,
How can I optimize a site having a listings which creates various multiple pages?
e.g: Pages like below:
http://moz.com/blog?page=3 etc
I want to optimize meta tags of these pages. If i put common title and description. My moz analysis showing duplicate meta tags and duplicate description issues. Please guide me to optimize these type of pages.

Hi, OK, I understand a bit more now.
These types of pages are automatically by the Content Management System (CMS) on which the site is built. I'm not sure you will have much control over the Titles, but it depends on the CMS used. Wordpress, Joomla?
There may be a plugin or extension you can use to fix the automatic titles generated for these even if to only add a Page 2 or Page 3 etc to the end of the title. In terms of optimising them beyond that as there not a lot you can do if the content is being generated dynamically and the pages presumably contain lots of links to other articles so in a sense you should not consider them as landing pages to appear in search engines but as signposts for search engines to build links on your site.

Thanks Peter,
In my scenario the pages are auto created by listings. like search pages. For example
http://www.xyz.com/search-results/page/2/
http://www.xyz.com/search-results/page/3/
These pages only contains listings not actual content. As we add more pages/blogs/listings the listing order will change automatically.
e.g: https://www.google.com/#psj=1&q=personal+loan&start=10 and
https://www.google.com/#psj=1&q=personal+loan&start=20
Above URLs are different with listings only.
How we will optimize these pages?

Hi, it's very important you don't have duplicate title tags and use titles that are what they say, the title of the page.
Think about your site being a book. In any book there are pages (i.e. the pages of your site), but in this book each page has unique content. So, how do visitors and search engines know what those pages are about if they all have the same title?
Without seeing your site it is difficult to comment further, but look at what is unique about each page and then give each page a title that is both unique and descriptive in 3 or 4 words telling both search engine and visitor what that page is about.
I hope that helps.

On-Page Optimization Question
My company sells Blue widgets and we are located in Denver, CO. Keyword research indicates that the the highest volume phrase is "blue widgets for sale in denver co". Should my meta title tag be: Blue Widgets for sale in Denver CO , and my h1 tag be the same? or should they be semantic phrases? Thanks in advance!

How to Handle Multiple Locations
We are working with a client who will have multiple locations––same company, same services [for the most part], different location. They want each location to get picked up locally in the search engines. What is the best way to handle the website and URLs? One overarching website with a page for each location?

A question on cached pages
Hi all. I have been testing different ways of writing the text on the homepage of the website www document-management-solutions co.uk because we are ranking very low for the keyword Document Management Software. I've recently learnt about pages being 'cached' and wanted to just clarify something. The last time the page was cached was on 26th March. I have made changed to the homepage since then and wanted to see how it has affected our ranking. Will I not be able to know if it has had a positive/negative effect until the next time our page is cached? Thanks

Is there a way to export the On-page Optimization report data to Excel?
I am preparing recommendations for my client's Webmaster from the On-page Report Card. I am integrating them into a larger Excel spreadsheet with other recommended changes. So many SEO Moz reports can be exported to Excel. Is this an exception, or am I missing something? It would really save me a lot of time and effort.

WordPress - optimizing for new keywords on page or post?
I know WordPress is always a little messy with SEO but i have a main question regarding WordPress optimisation for a special keyword. Let's say i have a chocolade blog and have written about all the vendors of chocolade. Now i found a new keyword which i want to optimize my website for. Should i create a 'Page' within WordPress and optimize it for the new keyword + link to some of the post about a relative keyword within this page?

OR Should i create a blog post and write about the new keyword and just links some of the other relative blog posts? I hope my question is clear.0 -
Page Rank Drop
Just trying to get more feedback - so we recently edited title and meta descriptions for existing website SEO and we've noticed in the past several weeks, our client's website has dropped out of the top 50 in a variety of terms we were targeting that they used to show up for (note: when updating SEO, we DID NOT remove any relevant terms we were targeting). When the website does come up in searches, it is the old meta description and title. So far, the feedback we've gotten is that first, it takes Google a few weeks to recrawl and index - however, we are now on week 3 after the changes and still no rebound in rankings. We were also told to check with the SEO Moz page grader to be sure the keywords were being optimized correctly - got As and Bs for the test terms I tried. We also submitted an XML site map to speed up the crawl process as another user suggested. We've tested the site with various tools to make sure there are redirect errors, etc. and everything looks fine. Again, it's now been 3+ weeks and no ranking rebound. Any other suggestions on what could be happening?
