What are SEO's using for Keyword Research?
-
Hey folks,
I just wanted to find out what everyone is using for keyword research now that the Google Keyword Tool has been retired. I know there is a form of it in Adwords, but something a little more usable than this.
Cheers,
Andy -
I do find this a little clunky compared to other available tools sadly. I have had it for 12 months and never really use it.

I hadn't seen SpuFu before and that also sounds interesting!
I have a lot to look at and try here - thanks for the responses folks and keep 'em coming if there are others!

I use the SEO Power Suite (link-assistant.com). It's not the simplest, but it's pretty complete and easily supplemented by online tools. It's not cheap but it gets accurate data and has multiple customizable features for serious people

The Keyword Snatcher looks pretty amazing Tom! Thanks for sharing that... Think I will be grabbing a sub there

Hello Tom,
The keyword snatcher looks pretty good, but does it work well in UK?

Absolutely loving Keyword Snatcher right now. One-off fee and an absolute beast.

Adwords (keywords tool in all different options of search and keywords suggestion) & Semrush (paid and free version available, good also for competitors analysis).
They are both very good I think. Other sources you can find at strumenti seo

Publish an article for blog before the Keyword research
Hi, my first time in the community. my web site is pretty new and I'm focusing now on the Onsite SEO. I am using an outsourcing company that writing me content, and I want to start my blog and publish it. but, I didn't finish yet my Keyword research, is it useless from google perspective to publish it without any keywords? it can hurt my site if ill publish it without any keywords inside of the article? or it still can be good for my site ranking/power? thanks !!!

G's Keyword Planner - 800 kw limit on search volume results?
I'm trying to use Google's Keyword Planner to pull the search volume for a large list of keywords (2000+). While you're able to upload a CSV of up to 3000 keywords, the search volume search only returns a maximum of 800 keywords per query, which is an issue as I have no idea which keywords it's cutting out. Is there any way around this? I have looked around online, but haven't been able to find a solid solution. Thanks in advance!

The same keyword on multiple pages, but not all (combined with other relevant keywords) for products.
Hi Guys, I want to get an opinion/advice on this. My client has a site that have all their products (I am working on expanding the product descriptions, benefits and how they differ from each other) listed and I just want to know if I can use the term 'gear oil' for example on multiple pages as one of the keywords. The product range (among others like transmission fluid and anti-freeze) is gear oil (with the different types of gear oils available described) and I can't really change what the product is. I do have different variations (such as gear lubricant, automotive gear lubricant, car gear oil etc.) but will it do damage if I use the same keyword (like gear oil) on multiple pages (along with another relevant keyword that does not involve the words gear oil)? Any help on this will be greatly appreciated!

Keyword Moderator List
Hi Moz Community, I'm wondering if anyone has a comprehensive list of keyword moderators that they could share? For example: online

buy [keyword] online

purchase etc... I always find that it's useful to run [keyword + moderator] for search volumes as it sometimes uncovers some exact match surprises that you may not have thought of. Thanks everyone! Gavin1 -
What keywords does the competition have?
I know this might be a long shot. I've been working on my google rankings and am first for a few keywords but still seeing quite low traffic. Is there a tool that allows me to see what keywords my competition is receiving high levels of traffic from? Thanks Dan

Keywords and Rank Checker Tool
Two questions about checking the rank of keywords. The easiest way to say this is by example. I have a keyword that SEOMOZ ranks on google in the 32nd position but when I look for that keyword in Google it's nowhere to be found (it's buried deep in the results pages somewhere). Where does SEOMOZ get its keyword results from? How do I non-localize my browser so I can see "global" keyword results? Is there such a thing? thanks in advance.

Hit by Panda, what's the quickest way to remove content
One of our client's sites got hit by panda/penguin. after careful investigation we found that the site had 6,900 pages indexed out of which about 300 are actual pages (pages with quality content and add value to the user). Needless to say we had to remove all those pages. Most of the thin pages were on the blog section of the site so we removed the WP which was on www.mysite.com/blog/. My question is how can i speed up the process for Google to realize that i have taken all those this pages down. i have fetched the homepage and all linked pages via "Fetch as Google Bot" on WMT. is there anything else i can do to speed this up???
