Website title has domain name in SERPS but not in the website.
-
We are using the latest version of Wordpress for one of our website. Now every page in SERPS is like this:
SEO Services, Link Building and Social Media - Oursite.com
But when we look at our website's title tag its like this:
<title>SEO Services, Link Building and Social Media</title>
It's very strange, why the website's domain name is appended to the title in SERPS??
Any ideas?
Thanks!

For months, Google has sometimes added SEOmoz to the end of our title tags after we moved to Moz. Sometimes Google will do their own title tags, and have for years.

Thanks Jeff!! #2 was the issue!! Just updated it and made it blank, as we are already using SEO by Yoast to look after the titles. Thanks!

I can think of three things that might be happening.
1. In the WordPress template, your designer might have hard-coded your business name at the end of the title, within the template file.
Normally in WordPress, your Title tag displays like this:
<title><?php wp_title(''); ?></title>But it's possible that instead, they modified it to:
<title><?php wp_title(''); ?> - Oursite.com</title>That's where I'd check first.
2. If that's not the case, I'd check in your admin area, under admin --> Settings --> General --> Site Title
You might have something in there.
3. Check to see if you have a WordPress plugin that is overriding the title tag information.
We use the All in One SEO one for our site, and this is where we can set the Home page title tag, and the other title tags for pages, posts, search pages, 404s and more...
I hope this helps!

Does this happen to every page on every search term or does this occasionally happen on certain terms? This could be caused by Google re-writing your title. If its happening all of the time then I would double-check your pages to see if you don't accidentally have two titles tags caused by competing wordpress plugins.
If you could give us a sample link and search term it would be easier to double-check.

Linking Domain vs Domain authority : Do they related!!!? (Case study)
Hi everyone
Link Building | | serikozay
I just came across a website which I'm working on. As we know DA & PA directly related to each other. I'm building organic links through last year and the result is so odd !
As you see in Pic 1, number of linking domains is naturally increasing. But in Pic 2 DA gets negative impact through this process and decreases!
How are they related anyway? Can anyone helps?

Domain Authority and Fixing the site
Ok, so let's say I have a page on my site that says "Find a Personal Injury Lawyer Boston" Obviously that is very competitive and it is hard to get links for. However somewhere else on my site I have an article that says "10 mistakes to avoid when making a will." In theory, if I can get links to the "Making a Will Page", that increases the domain authority of my entire site, and boosts the likelihood of ranking for "Find a personal injury lawyer Boston." Is this correct? Let me know and thanks for your help!

Domain Authority
I am very new to SEO. I've built a dog grooming website for a business that my wife and I have established. www.petsalonbarkavenue.com When I try and check the metrics out, it keeps showing I have a 1 on page authority, and a 1 on domain authority. When I check a competitors site, they have certain anchor text that Moz has identified. I am pretty certain that our business is listed on the same directory as this competitor, yet Moz doesn't identify my site's anchor text. Am I doing something wrong? or is my site so new, that Moz hasn't been able to find it? Craig

Do links in hosted documents help with domain authority?
When giving presentations in our industry, we often find that the PDF or PPT document is then hosted on the origination's domain for download by event attendees. If these files have links, do they count as inbound followed links?

Company on top website, no hyperlink
Hi - my company's name and website have been mentioned on 3 major websites but there is no hyperlink. Does this totally destroy any SEO value of these mentions? So disappointing, since it's hard to ask a reporter to include a hyperlink / they usually can't.

Deep Links From Same Domain
I know that it is best to diversify your inbound link profile, but I would like to know the best practices for a domain as a whole as opposed to the domains component pages. If I have a good link source (say for example Squidoo) that can provide links to a website's home page AND a few of its lower tier pages, are all these links of more or less equal value (for seo purposes) to each of the link targets, or does Google simply use a "one source domain, one counted link" approach? Thanks Bill

Changing domain names... Bad idea?
We are re-doing a clients e-commerce website. Before I had entered them on SEO moz we had decided to change their domain name to one with a keyword inside. I had not known that they had an online marketing company previous working for them. They have a domain authority of 42 right now. It would be a horrible idea to switch their domain right? I looked at some of the links, they all have a variety of good anchor text. But alot of the links are coming from sites or directory categories that are not relative. We are also planning on doing 301 re-directs for the links. But this will not transfer the domain authority to the new domain right? Any thoughts?

Extracting contact info from a website
I saw a great link building article on this website a few months ago about finding competitors back links and using a program to find the contact info located in those back links. Can anyone point me to that article, or even the program that is used to get this contact info? Thanks!
