Magento Plugin that speeds up loading time - Too good to be true??
-
Hi everyone,
Has anyone ever used this plugin http://templates-master.com/magento-page-cache-extension.html? I am looking for solution for my Magento websites. They all seem to be a bit slow no matter what web host I use.
Thanks
Carla

Nope, it isn't too good to be true. Page caching is one of the smartest ways to increase speed.
How it works depends on the plugin, but usually it avoids making queries to DB, and processing by saving a copy of a page for a certain amount of time, so when the next person asks for it, the site will serve the saved version instead of generating it all over again.
EDIT: even on highly dynamic sites pages do not constantly change, for example, go to CNN now and go again in 1 hour, you will probably see the exact same thing but the latest news changed (most likely), but the rest of the page could be easily cached for 1 hour and avoid the re-generation so all those users accessing within that hour could be served with the cached copy instead of generating it thousands of more times (one for each visitor).

Best Day of Week & Best Time of Day for B+B Email
For business to business email, should we avoid sending on Mondays and Fridays? The nature of the service is commercial real estate brokerage for office space in New York City. We are mailing to corporate decision makers in various industries (technology, finance, law). Should we avoid mailing during certain times of day? Or is there a best time of day to send the email. Thanks,

Meta Descriptions - Does Cutt's comment still hold true?
When looking through my old research on Meta's came across this article on Search Engine Land where Matt Cutt's stated... "In fact, Matt said for his own blog, he doesn’t bother to make meta descriptions for his own site. In short, it is better to let Google auto-create snippets for your pages versus having duplicate meta descriptions."(http://searchengineland.com/googles-matt-cutts-dont-duplicate-your-meta-descriptions-177706) Recently, I have seen Google continuously play around with my metas, pulling from some really weird places on the page, discrediting the meta that I have there..and more-or-less really f them up.. Does the community think that maybe what Matt said in 2013 still holds weight and we are just wasting time with metas since Google does what they want in that space anyways?

Anything Good or Bad about Google Trusted Stores ?
We are looking to implement Google Trusted Stores. We don't use PPC but we think that the badge on our website will be helpful for us and our customers. Do you have any experience, positive or negative, with Google Trusted Stores as either a merchant or a customer? I am looking for moz member experience before we make a commitment. There have been some previous Q&A threads about Trusted Stores and a number of good articles on the web, including this one at SearchEngineLand. and this one at eConsultancy Thanks for anything that you care to share.

Is putting an email address in the page title a good idea?
As our Contact Us page title was a little short I added in [email protected] So "Contact us : [email protected]" We don't get a lot of spam and it hasn't noticeable increased since we did this. Tynt suggests that a reasonable number of people have copied and pasted the email - presumably to contact us Is it worth experimenting with further or a waste of time?

How to improve Time to First Byte? Page Load Speed
I am working with a ecommerce site that is having major issues with their load speed. The ttfb is...wait for it...7911 ms. I am not even sure where to start with this issue. If you have any recommendations, it would be appreciated. Is it the clients servers that are slow? They have went through multiple redesigns and have some code that could probably be deleted but I don't think it would make it that slow.

Good content but high bounce rate
Hi all, We run a website offering specialist turkey tours and gulet cruises. Our website holds a few information and recipes pages which are doing well in the engines and bring in alot of traffic. However these pages are crippling our bounce rate with bounces of about 80-90%. The time on site for these pages are above the websites average, but it seems that once the reader has finished with the information/ recipe, they bounce back to the Search engines. An example of one of our recipe pages can be found here: http://www.petersommer.com/turkey/turkish-food/pilav-rice/ We have thought about moving and redirecting these pages from our main site to a new website, but we are worried that it may effect our position in the SERP's. Can anybody offer any advice on this? Thanks

What is a good closing ratio? I am at 32%
I have a client I landed about 1 1/2 months ago. The only traffic coming to the site is from Google Adwords. The goal page is the "Get A Quote" page and the closing ratio is 32.4%. So about 1 in 3 visits fill out the quote form. I usually do eCommerce and I am used to seeing 2-3% goal conversions. But 32.4%???? Is that normal for a regular static site (non-ecommerce). It's been like that for a whole week! Should I toot my own horn here?
