Using Google Analytics network service provider
-
Hi
What are people's views on using the Technology > Network > Service provider part of Google Analytics as a way to find companies that have visited a website? Then potentially contact them companies etc?
Thanks
-
Thanks for your help Michael

Initially it depends who the visitor is. This data doesn't tell you that it's a worker or visitor just browsing from that IP and your site is pretty random.
If you analysed the data and found some strong trends it might be worth investigating further, but it might be a little bit 'big brother'. On the other hand you might want to contact those companies on a different footing, not mentioning the stats but knowing there is some kind of interest there - unless a competitor!
-
Ah yeah, that's even better than what I had found. So I am wondering if there is gain to be made by contacting these companies or would it put people off?
-
Ok, try secondary dimension - Visitors >> Network Domain
For example, you may draw some data from Service Provider 'single static ip addresses'.
-
I might be asking a stupid question then, but I'm sure for some companies they have their name displayed as opposed to just 'ip pools' or 'virgin media' etc, I have some such as councils, universities and large businesses.
-
Unless I am missing something this data is the ISP that the user uses to connect to the internet. So the actual visitor could be anyone.

Drop in Bounce Rate in Google Analytics
Hi guys, I have recently seen a large drop in bounce rate (from GA) which seems unnatural for one of our clients website. Since the start of 2018, the bounce rate was consistently between 40-60%, and then saw a random spike, and now for the past two weeks, the bounce rate is below 10%. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas if this is a problem with GA, or the site itself. Site: https://www.zoomocarcredit.com/ Any comments/feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Jack. "index.htm" for all url's in google analytics
I don't have this issue with other wordpress websites, only this one website, and I don't know what's causing the issue: Google Analytics is adding an "index.htm" to every single page on the website. So it is tracking the pages, I see no errors - is it tracking the right page? When I click on the page link in a report, I naturally go to a "404 page not found" since the website address isn't "www.example.com/rewards/index.htm" - but instead the actual address would be:

"www.example.com/rewards/". I have navigated to View Settings in GA to insure "default page" is empty. Although adding anything else to this field does not effect the page url in analytics reports either. Could it be htaccess file - or a plugin effecting the htaccess file?_Cindy0 -

Google Analytic - Is it possible to see which organic keyword triggered goals?
Hi, I am trying to see which of my Google organic keywords triggered my goals? In GA I click > Conversion > Goals > Overview > Source Medium (This then says where my goals came from but when I click Google / Organic it just brings me to the overview page of my organic traffic). Is it possible to see which organic keywords trigger goals?

Setting up Goals in Google Analytics that involve a 3rd party site
I've set up several goals for one of my clients in Google Analytics. The ones that relate to things on the site -- such as clicking on the "Contact Us" button -- work just fine. However, I set up one that is tracking when someone clicks on a purchase button, which sends the user to a third party site (PayPal). This one doesn't seem to work. (I purchased and item and the goal was not recorded). Looking to see if I have to do anything different when setting up the goal.
