Open Site Explorer not detecting linking domain on my site
-
So I was using Open Site Explorer to analyze my domain authority and page authority as can be seen here. My site has been covered by some press and in the article it actually links my site. Some of the articles can be seen on, here, here, and here. Any idea why none of these articles are detected as a linking domain to my site? Is there something that I am doing wrong?

You can manually add your backlinks to the OSE and can manipulate your domain authority, read this http://moz.com/community/q/how-you-can-manipulate-your-moz-da

It may have been indexed at the time but once we index a page we don't keep it forever. This is where your SEO will come into play to maintain strong links. As I mentioned before our indexes are replaced with every update from scratch and we will only store previous information in our cache for up to 60 days.
-
Why wasn't this indexed a while back ago when the article was actually live then? Now it's harder for me to guess my domain authority because of this.

The articles for shopious on techinasia, kompas, and dailysocial are not in the current index. Dailysocial appears as the linking root domain because they link more recent pages (http://en.dailysocial.net/post/buildconf-organizers-aim-to-sharpen-the-skills-of-indonesian-software-developers) which you can see if you toggle the filter to show pages for the entire root domain. Going forward OSE does not have any reason to index a page from several months ago unless you make changes or create new links to those articles to get on OSE's radar. Once a site is indexed they are not guaranteed to remain forever since new indexes start from scratch everytime and will only keep a cache of previously indexed pages for up to 30-60 days.

Those referring links from sites I linked above are of high domain authority. Also I can see other sites written by those publishers and I can see the linked domain when using OSE. The articles on the publisher website above are not buried beneath layers of navigation.
If your suggestion is to work on link building with sites with high mozrank, then I've actually done so from the 3 links I have linked above. The question is just you're not taking it into account. Please suggest

Hello!
OSE won't necessarily crawl every page depending on their authority.
Just so you know, here's how we compile our index:
- We grab the most recent index.
- We take the top 10 billion URLs with the highest MozRank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains).
- We start crawling from the top down until we've crawled 90,000,000,000 pages (which is about 35% the amount in Google's index).
Therefore, if the site is not linked to by one of these seed URLs (or one of the URLs linked to by them in the next update) then it won't show up in our index.
Mozscape focuses on a breadth-first approach. Therefore we almost always have content from the homepage of websites, externally linked-to pages, and pages higher up in a site's information hierarchy. However, deep pages that are buried beneath many layers of navigation are sometimes missed and it may be several index updates before we catch all of these.
If our crawlers or data sources are blocked from reaching those URLs, they may not be included in our index (though links that point to those pages will still be available). Finally, the URLs seen by Mozscape must be linked-to by other documents on the web or our index will not include them.
For now, the best thing you can do to help your domain become indexed is to work on link building for links from sites with high mozrank. If you need help with that, you may want to ask the Q&A community about it who can give you great advice!

Domain Authority Historic Differences?
Moz Team, We are again seeing shifts on how we report on Domain Authority. When Moz moved from OSE to LE, domain authority scores changed (which is fine because our direct competitors in LE also saw similar changes). The problem is it looks like domain authority trends have re-calibrated to show a long term decline instead of a long term increase, which changes the narrative entirely. Please see IMGUR link. Is this a temporary issue, or has Moz again changed the scale in which DA is measured? Is anyone else seeing disparities in their data? Thanks All! NfnM4dk.jpg

Moz error with domain and page authority if no www in my domain
Hello, so our domain is website.com and we do not use www in our domain. Now moz shows our page authority as huge (website. Com) and domain authority very low. But our domain is our page that we rank. Is this due to the fact that we use no www and we rank our main index page? Am I correct? Thanks!

Top Pages Report References URLs from a Different Domain
I am running a Top Pages Report using Open Site Explorer and it's returning that the top pages for examplesiteA.org are examplesiteB.com. Important to note that examplesiteA.org was a dormant domain for a few years. We recently purchased it and are in the process of reviving it. Has anyone experienced this before? Would this suggest that canonical link elements were put in place prior to it going dormant and that the top pages for this site are now assumed to be on examplesiteB.com?

Open Site Explorer Top Pages https Title tag issue
Hello, everybody. I've noticed this strange thing in Top Pages reporting of Open Site Explorer. If i do a report for any website which doesn't have security certificate installed, such as http://www.hyperlinksmedia.com I get normal results, with title tag shown for every page, but, if i do a report for website with Security certificate, such as https://www.hyperlinksmedia.com, report is coming back for non-secure URL version (http:...), so, it says "No Title" for any pages. I wonder, if it influence PA and DA scores. Although, if i run full crawl test, then i shows all meta and title tags for SSL version of a website's url. Thanks!

Why Moz doesn't offer tool similar like SEOprofiler Link Disinfection?
Hi Moz, As I have been your member & using pro tool for more than an year, it's been amazing experience working and using your each tool's function tool, wehther to check on-page grader, rank tracking, on-page crawling issue, keyword difficulty and the one my best for link analysis is Open Site Explorer etc. I came here to ask about something which I didn't find here than other providers is most popular Bad Link Detection Tool. As **SEOprofiler Link Disinfection **offers their customers to use this to get all of their bad or spammy links harming them to rank high or getting away from ranking goal. Let me know, are you planning anything similar to this to bring soon in your tools and provide your members to take benefits of such type function as well OR should i go to SEOprofiler for this? Best,

Removing the clutter of site-wide links
I have a multi-part question with regard to the moz link index and some presentation suggestions. Firstly I would be interested to know how the link index treats site-wide links with regard to metrics such as DA, and PA. We all know that it is highly likely that SE's are unlikely to pass full link value across from sitewide links, and therefore it would make sense for Moz values to account for this as well - if they do not already. One annoying thing that also relates to sitewides is that they tend to clutter the much of the information presentation in a few of the tools (you can't see wood for trees as it were). This is most prominent in the "Just Discovered" page - if you have a sitewides on a large site, you can often find that this screen is just totally filled with these links as they are found. It would be very useful to be able to filter these out, as they are of little interest - currently I can't see a way of filtering them out. A further value where they create to much noise is the 'Total Links' value. Where sitewides are included in this value, the value actually becomes pretty meaningless as you can find that the majority of that value is sitewides. It would therefore be useful if there was another value for 'Total Links - Excluding Sitewides' where maybe value of 1 was just added to the count for a site wide

A simple count (with list if possible) of the external and internal links on a website
Dear Moz Community, I am trying to find a way to easily analyse a website (http://uk.chm-cbd.net) to determine the number of internal and external hyperlinks throughout the (roughly) 490 webpages within the site. It would also be extremely helpful to have a list of all the links with their url. Does anyone know of a tool, methodology to do this? If it requires a lot of programming then that does not help me very much as I am not very computer literate!! So a software to download or an online service would be very helpful. Open Site Explorer seems to be limited, such that I would have to do an analysis on each page within the website. BUT, if anyone knows how I can do using OSE, then please tell me. Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help Hugh
