File permissions save. any suggestions
-
Hi - something not related directly to SEO - but a vital factor
Need to know for any tool - by which i can take backup or save existing file permissions of all my web site files.. God forbid - in event of any unfortunate circumstance if some mis hap happens or file permissions changed accidentally - how can i get them back to the original.
Any tool by which i can save existing file permissions of filezilla
thanks

Not sure I understand the question?
filezilla does not hold the permissions, the user in question does.
Permissions for a linux bases system can be activated with ACL, and would be saved at the OS level (so if you took an image, it would take the file permissions.
I am not sure of a tool, that would do this other than just basic linux tools, and in windows it is saved locally with the user, unless group policy is in control which Active Directory and Registry of host machine would hold the user permissions.
Maybe I misunderstoofd the question though..

Robots.txt file issues on Shopify server
We have repeated issues with one of our ecommerce sites not being crawled. We receive the following message: Our crawler was not able to access the robots.txt file on your site. This often occurs because of a server error from the robots.txt. Although this may have been caused by a temporary outage, we recommend making sure your robots.txt file is accessible and that your network and server are working correctly. Typically errors like this should be investigated and fixed by the site webmaster. Read our troubleshooting guide. Are you aware of an issue with robots.txt on the Shopify servers? It is happening at least twice a month so it is quite an issue.

Removing Domains From Disavow File
We may have accidentally included the wrong domains in our Disavow file and have since removed most domains leaving the only very highly rated spammy links (using moz's new spam score)in the file. How long can it take for to google to recognise this change?ThanksMike

Can you suggest a good website for a roofing contractor??
I have a roofing contractor friend that wants a new site. There's a lot of choices out there, so to save a little time I'm looking for good suggestions. Ideally one with a good DA, and the ability to make manual edits on the back side. Thanks in advance:)

I have a site that is showing Internal 0 Equity-Passing Links, 0 Internal links, and every page bar the homepage has a PageAuthority of 0\. Any suggestions on why this could be?
The website has been around for several years, although did undergo a significant redesign at the end of last year. I greatly appreciate any help.

Increase in authorization permission errors (Access Denied - Error 403)
Hi MOZ community, Since last week when I changed my theme in a WP installation I noticed (in WMT and MOZ tool) that I have increased number in authorization permission errors (error 403-forbidden). What happens is that I received a 403 error for almost every single URL of my site. All these URLs are not "real" ones but they all have my email in the end. i.e. I get an 403 error for the "/contact/[email protected]" whilst the real URL is just "/contact/" This happens, as I said, for almost every single page of my site. I have no other crawling or indexation issues, all URLs are correctly indexed. All new pages are correctly indexed as well. URIs ending with "[email protected]" are not indexed off course. WP and all installed plugins & theme are on the latest available release. For SEO purposes I use Yoast SEO WP plugin. The site in questions is: fantasylogic.com Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance

SEO process suggestions / keyword analysis
hi all, we've done a bit of SEO over the years for our site, and are looking to pick things up this year and spend more time on SEO. first off, we are working on revising our keyword list & would like to view what keywords specific competitors are ranking for and try to target those keywords as well. is this possible via SEOmoz (similar to spyfu)? please let me know if you feel this is a good first step in picking up our SEO efforts for the new year. i've been looking at the research tools & is seems the Keyword Difficulty Tool hasn't been fully functional for the past week or so ("Our Keyword Difficulty Tool is having issues displaying AdWords API data. We are working with the AdWords API folks to get a fix soon!"). also, i noticed i can enter competitor sites in open site explorer & compare link metrics, but i don't see anywhere to compare keyword metrics. is there something i'm missing? thanks again everyone!

Why does the crawl report say I should have meta description and title tags in my xml files?
Just had my first crawl report today which has been very useful in finding missing and duplicated title tags and meta descriptions but it has flagged up the fact that my xml files are missing these. Surely non HTML documents shouldn't have them (or need them) so why are they showing up in the report?

The Site Explorer crawl shows errors for files/folders that do not exist.
I'm fairly certain there is ultimately something amiss on our server but the Site Explorer report on my website (www.kpmginstitutes.com) is showing thousands of folders that do not exist. Example: For my "About Us" page (www.kpmginstitutes.com/about-us.aspx), the report shows a link: www.kpmginstitutes.com/rss/industries/404-institute/404-institute/about-us.aspx. We do have "rss", "industries", "404-institute" folders but they are parallel in the architecture, not sequential as indicated in the error url. Has anyone else seen these types of error in your Site Explorer reports?
