Anybody know of a way to speak directly to a Senior Level Associate in the Google Maps Dept?

I have a client who's Places listing is marked as being permanently closed (has been for three weeks). We were ranking in top spot on local for 2 years +/- and now nothing. Nowhere. Where we do show up, it says permanently closed. (They are not closed).
This is the response I received:
"After investigating your problem, we've found that it is being caused by a technical issue and our engineers are pursuing a resolution. At this time, they do not have an estimate on when the issue will be resolved, but please know that they are actively working on improving the Google Maps and Google+ Local experience for our users."
This was three weeks ago.
Here is listing: https://www.google.com/maps/place/The+Davis+Law+Firm,+LLC/@35.0796228,-106.6070767,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x4750748d0724dd7c?hl=en
Any suggestions?

Miriam,
Thank you for the in-depth response. I really appreciate it. I have yet to try the null approach. This business is in good standing, and has been for the 4 years I've worked with them. We did change website the domain name recently, and TDLF did relocate almost a year ago.
A great deal of leads came from mobile search, which, of course, come from local places listings and this has caused a serious drop in phone calls. Ben (the owner) noticed immediately, before even knowing what had happened. One thing we did take into consideration, is that other law firms sometimes play dirty. I'm wondering if someone could have flagged this as being closed in an effort to "get ahead". I know of other law firms I work with who claim that other firms will engage in similar behavior by clicking on PPC ads of competitors' - knowing that an "injury attorney in Denver" ad may cost $30-40 per click. We've even caught competitors bidding on our firm's names, which lead to a landing page about why not to hire that firm, yada yada yada.
So...yesterday I actually spent 3 hours on the phone and was able to reach the person who, supposedly, in charge of the "map" in the entire state of New Mexico. For some reason I have doubts about this, but we'll see what kind of response we get.
It just seems like there would be a "switch" somewhere with the options: Open or Closed.
I'll post an update when I resolve this...if I have anything going for me its persitence. I once reached the CEO of a well known airline after 4 hours on the phone - when my bags were misplaced.

Hi Jason,
Oh, I hate that canned message from Google! If you do a search for the language of it in the Google And Your Business Forum, you'll see it's one Google sends out in a ton of different situations. I am not currently seeing a mass influx of reports of this message in that forum, but that doesn't necessarily mean there isn't a mass issue going on. Some questions:
Did you recently make any changes to listing?
Are you still able to access the listing via the dashboard? If so, are there any messages/warnings?
If you can access the listing, have you tried performing a null edit? If not, it might be worth a try. (In case you're not familiar with this, all you have to do is log in, hit the button to edit the listing in the dash, don't change anything, but then save as though you have made a change). In some cases, this can refresh the situation and resolve some problems ... but only in some cases.
How did you receive the above message from Google? How did you report the issue?
Regarding the question in the title of your post, if you've received an email from Google, you have, in essence, already heard from their engineers. Three weeks is definitely not an adequate amount of time for things to get rectified in Google land, but that doesn't mean you can't attempt other methods of flagging their attention. Here are 2 suggestions:
-
Go through the troubleshooter that leads to a phone call. Click the Contact Us link on this page while logged into the account associated with the listing: https://support.google.com/places/#topic=1656871 Proceed via the blue 'Call Us' button.
-
Start a thread in the Google And Your Business Forum begging for help from the Top Contributors there who have the ability to escalate your issue to Google staff, if they so choose. https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/business
It may be that you will just have to wait this out. Without knowing the details of the business and the situation, I can't offer any more specific advice, but I do think it would be worth it to try one or both of the help options I've described. I'm so sorry you've received that dread message. What a headache. Good luck, and if you get this resolved, it would be nice if you could update this thread with how things went.

better pop some popcorn. it may be a while before you hear anything from anyone regarding Google Maps or Google+ Local. They don't make money off of those services, so they don't care how long they take to get anything done.
I have been trying to get images updated for almost 4 months without any luck. I have also been trying to migrate to the new dashboard for places for business for over a year without any luck.
Google really sucks for support for products they don't generate income from.

Should I claim a non-local Google business listing?
If I have a business which is non-local, but has one location and is showing up with the address and directions already in the knowledge panel, should I claim the business? Eg: the company manufactures a single product and ships directly to customers all over the world. On the one hand, of course it seems I should claim it and get more control. On the other hand, part of that process is setting a service area and I worry that by doing so I may be making the company seem less relevant outside the service area in Google's eyes.

Google Local Changes Randomly & Our Site Keeps Dropping Off Search
I work for a university where we have 2 law schools. We have our one school on the other side of the state that has been around for a very long time, and then a newer school that is right on our main campus that has been around for about 5 - 10 years now. The newer of the 2 schools is having so much trouble being able to claim the name of the school in google search. If you type in the name of the school the other school (the one that has been around longer) was coming up in the google local on the right of the screen and their web URL was never showing up in search. This is a huge problem because the accreditations of the 2 schools are different, and students are showing up at the wrong school for their interviews. Search will only show a domain name that used to be owned by the older school but now gives information for both of the schools. So it'll show up in search results, but only under that other domain and not their own domain that has their name in the domain name. This school has an updated google mybusiness listing, and a google+ page with the correct listing. I've added some schema data around the business address on their site and JSON for the google+ page, and have re-indexed their sitemap a few times after some changes have been made and we are using their name more in the site. This fixed everything for a short while and we were getting the appropriate google local listing and their site was appearing in search results above the site that advertised both schools. Now, after about 3 months, it has reverted. I had the older school showing up in the google local, and the site that advertises both schools is the ONLY domain appearing. I've re-indexed the site after finding out that Drupal's timestamps that they automatically add to sitemaps aren't optimized for how google reads it. This has gotten the local listing back, but I still have the wrong domain appearing, it is the one advertises both schools instead of the domain that has this school's information. I don't mind that the one advertising both shows up, but if a user is searching for that particular school I would really like to get that domain to appear first above the one advertising both schools and the older school. Right now the new school isn't even in search results except for being under the site that advertises both. I wasn't sure if this was something that Moz Local could help me fix by adding the listing across the web, or if there is something else on the sites I can be doing to help them solidify their name in google search/local. Also - is this subdomain that is advertising both of them hurting them or help them? I was thinking about taking that domain down to one page that acts as a direction source to the 2 domains rather than having a ton of information and keywords that take over the results for their name since that domain is older (and used to be associated with the old school only before the new school was built) Thank you for any advice on this issue as I'm still pretty new to SEO and to the university. Thanks again!

How do you select a Google category for the SERPs?
Recently I was looking up law schools in Texas and came across a SERP listing I had never seen before. Google provided the category "law school" and narrowed it down by geographic location. I checked the code on both websites for schema and was unable to locate it. Furthermore, one GMB listing was claimed and another was not. I'm wondering why both Texas A&M School of Law and Houston College of Law showed up but University of Texas Law School did not. I have attached a screenshot of the SERP to see if anyone has seen this before or can provide any insight. Search term was "list of law schools in texas" but the same snippet showed up for "best law schools in texas." Thanks 8XHvZt4.png

Top Local Organic Rankings, But Nowhere to be found on Google Snack Pack
I've been working with a local gym for a while now. We successfully got the gym to beat out all its competitor and now it consistently ranks in the 3rd or 4th result for all major local industry keywords. For example "gym in [city]". The only thing above us is Yelp and other directory sites. The problem I am running into is we do well organically, but when it comes to Google Snack Pack we aren't in the top three or even 10. You have to go deep into the next pages of the map to find our business. I did find that we use to be categorized as health club in Google My Business, but I changed that three months ago. Some more additional info, the site when I got the account moved to a different url. So many directories and sites that linked to us in the past link to the old url. The old url is 301 redirected to our current url. I haven't found much info about this topic and am looking for any experience or insight?

Have You Used Twitter For Google My Business Support?
Hey Everybody! If you've been doing Local for some years, chances are, you remember those dark days in the past when there was zero Google local support. You could post something in their forum, but that was pretty much your only hope. It was an absolutely amazing day when they finally rolled out phone support, and I'm still very grateful that this exists, but just this week, I learned about another way to contact support. Joy Hawkins has surfaced a Twitter account you can tweet when in need of assistance and she says its not only really fast, but that the help is US-based (which would be great for US users). I'd never heard of this before and wondered if any of you have tried it, and what response times and overall satisfaction you experienced with it. If you've not tried it yet and are experiencing a local client conundrum, maybe give it a try and let our community here know how it went?

What would Cause listing to fall off local search map spot?
Any reason a listing that was showing in Google between the 3 and 5 spot on local map search would suddenly disappear all together from the map position for a specific keyword?

Why is my location info on google+ correct in one state, but wrong in another?
One search was performed from Oklahoma, and one from California where the business is located. The Google maps data is wrong in CA, but correct in OK. The wrong info is the old business name that closed two years ago. I've written Google twice asking them to remove it from Google Maps, but they write back and say no. http://d.pr/i/KbIN http://d.pr/i/Gce9 Thanks for any input, I appreciate it.
