Google reviews only show up in local results, right?
-
Two quick questions: 1. google reviews only show up in local results right? 2. If you're 100% e-commerce business with no office location, can you even get a google review?
Thanks,
Ruben

Always happy to see your questions come in, Ruben!

I'm not sure either. However, I can now at least point him in the right direction.
As always, thank you very much, Miriam!

Hi Ruben,
Hmm, that's a good question. Are there industry-related review sites for his type of business? For example, there are sites that feature reviews of cameras, sites that feature reviews of books. There are product review sites, but I'm a bit stumped as to whether such a platform would exist for selling buildings, as a product. The client probably knows this about his own industry better than I would. If such a thing doesn't exist, are there at least professional/business organization where he can receive a review or rating? Kind of like the BBB? Seems to me like this would take some good research to figure out where the industry-related platforms are.

One quick follow-up question. My friend's site is a b-m business that sells different types of buildings. They do have a g+ page and ability for people to leave google reviews. However, their local business is a small fraction of their sales. Most of it is online purchases. Is there a review site he should suggest satisfied customers to leave reviews on that would help in organic search or just continue what he does now (put the testimonials on his website)?
Thanks,
Ruben

Hi Ruben,
They display in the Knowledge Panel, as well:
But, no, if you are an e-commerce site, these types of local reviews aren't really meant for your business.

Any experiences with Reviews.io?
Hello, We have used Trustpilot.com for a few years in the past. Service was reasonable and they did what they were supposed to do. However, due to their price and requirement for a full-year payment upfront we stopped using their review collection service. Is someone using Reviews.io? They are included in Google Review Partners, which seems to be very encouraging:

Any experiences you could share about Reviews.io will be appreciated. Luciano, The Translation Company Group0 -
Should I change to new URL after going through a period of bad reviews
A couple of years ago we had a series of bad reviews due to our billing company. We have not been able to recover from this and are unable to appear in Local listings due to the horrible reviews even though they are from years ago. Would it be a good idea to change domains and google+ accounts in order to start over with reviews and local citations?

Customers can review business on New Google Plus
Google Plus for businesses has switched to a new Google+ page that does not have a "WRITE A REVIEW" button available for customers to leave a review for a business. This is preventing us from sending a link to our Google Plus business page directly to customers soliciting a review for our business. Has anyone else noticed this update migration and does anyone have a work around for how to send a link to our customers so they can leave a review on our Google+ business page?

Combining reviews and duplicate content
We have some items in different colors or slightly different styles. For example if there is one series of helmets with almost same features and if we have many item pages we get reviews for each one seperate. We want to combine the reviews to increase our conversion rates. For example if style1 gets 5 reviews and style 2 gets1 review and style 3 has zero reviews combining them will help style 2 and style 3 conversion rates. Our review system cannot put all these reviews in one page. So if we combine reviews each page will have duplicate review content. Will this be bad for SEO?

Google+ Places Reviews
Hi There, Am I right in saying that Google Places reviews cannot be reviewed easily if at all. I have advised a client wirth a negative review to instead respond to the review and get clients to place good quality reviews. However, they seem to think if I ring Google they will just remove them and that Google has confirmed this. I am pretty sure I am right but before I jump through pointless hurdles with Google to be told I am, I want to make sure. Has anyone been successful in removing negative reviews from Google. Kind Regards Neil

How can I avoid duplicate content when building a review widget?
My website has a profile page for each of the home improvement contractors who signs up. They accumulate reviews on those pages. I want to build a review widget to display our reviews on our contractors' websites. How can I avoid duplicate content issues for the reviews? Example of a profile page with a few reviews: http://www.thehomefixers.com/members/425/waterheaters-plus-llc.php

Star Ratings Showing in SERP
Hello everyone, I'm looking to display testimonials with star ratings in SERP's for a RV repair shop. The testimonials will be unique and manually added to the site. Is this achieved through Rich Snippets/Schema markup or is there a specific way to implement it to influence Google to display the ratings? Thanks in advance. webmasters_99170_rsreview.png
