Google Remarketing Conversions - Possible Issue
-
Hi All,
When it comes to Google Adwords, when considering conversions, Google assigns each conversion back to the click that originally drove that visitor on the day they clicked. so, even if someone converts today, Google would show that conversion as occurring two weeks ago when the visitor originally clicked on a paid search ad and came to my site. fine...whatever.
My question now is if we use a remarketing campaign through the Display Network, and someone converts, will that conversion be shown under their new visit or back on their original click where they did not originally convert, causing them to be included in our remarketing audience?
Cant seem to find a straight answer anywhere and hoping someone out there has some guidance.

exactly what I was after. thank you so much!

Adwords will attribute the conversion to the last click, provided it happened within the last 30 days.
Some examples may help clarify this:
- If someone 2 weeks ago clicked an ad, and later clicks a remarketing banner and converts, the remarketing campaign will get the credit for it, and the search campaign will not see a conversion.
- If someone clicked an ad 6 weeks ago, and comes back directly to your site and converts, no Adwords campaign would get a conversion.
- If someone clicks an ad, and then viewed a remarketing banner, and remembered to go back and buy from your site without clicking the ad, then the original ad would get credit for the conversion, and the remarketing campaign would not show a view-through conversion, since the conversion is being attributed to another campaign on your site.
- If someone visited your site organically, and then viewed a remarketing banner, and remembered to go back and buy from your site without clicking the ad, you'll see a view-through conversion for the remarketing campaign.
- If someone clicks an ad 6 weeks ago, and then sees a remarketing banner, and remembered to go back and buy from your site without clicking the ad, then you'd see a view-through conversion for the remarketing campaign (since it's outside of the 30 day conversion window).
You can see the different conversion paths within Google Analytics. My favorite report is the Conversions > Multi-Channel Funnels > Top Conversions Paths report. I usually view it with a primary dimension of Source/Medium Path, and add a secondary dimension of Campaign Path (make sure at the top Path Length is set to "All", and you have the appropriate types of conversions selected). This will show the conversion paths for all of your conversions.
Hope this helps!

Google Product Ads - Improving our Cost Per Conversion?
Hi all, We have been running Google Product Ads (paid for) ever since it began in the UK. We are still struggling to get to grips with the best way to make it worthwhile for us. Our data for the last 14 days:
Conversion Rate Optimization | | complete_outdoors
Clicks: 1827
Impressions: 65789
CTR: 2.78%
Average CPC: £0.22
Cost Per Conversion: £15.13 We've added some auto targets for our most popular brands, with a higher CPC than "all products". We've also added negative keywords so we only come up with relevant searches. Basically, what we'd like to know is: how we can best set-up our product ads to reduce our Cost Per Conversion (I guess everyone would like to do that!), as it is barely worth us using it currently. If you require any further data to help answer my question, please ask. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.0 -
Does anyone have a form solution which would allow for specific website visitor information (keywords, path, etc...from Google Analytics), to be passed to a form submitted by that user which could be passed to a Zoho CRM lead record?
Looking for form analytics which offers: security, CSS integration, capture of Google Analytics data, integration with Zoho CRM.

Using overlay content on landing pages - possible? recommended?
We want to use an overlay, like a modal dialog, in a landing page to show more information to support conversion without linking to another page or using popups. Anyone have any stats on success or risks? We've considered simple roll-overs to provide some more info, but everyone has raised alarms that we may be introducing a potential technical or usability hurdle for users. The overlay would display when someone rolled over or clicked a "Learn More" link on the page to provide additional offer reinforcement points to drive the visitors from consideration to conversion. Aside from our own testing, we don't have any sources to cite as to whether this approach can or will impact or aid conversion. Any insights would be appreciated.

Landing Page Conversion Rates
I had a client claiming his industry (replacement home windows) conversion rate was around 15% based on his research. In my research i could find nothing of the sort, and really couldn't find a single place that provided this type of information. Anyone out there have some advice on where to research industry conversion rates (averages) or tools/thought processes to explore? Thanks! (these stats would primarily be used for goal setting and competitive analysis)

Landing Page Conversion
Hi, I'm having a few issues with my landing page conversion. I have followed several guides found on this site (especially the unbounce.com ones) but what'ever I try my landing page CRO doesn't seem to increase. the landing page in question is http://www.drivingtestnow.co.uk/find-driving-test-cancellations. I'm getting traffic to my landing page solely through PPC traffic from Google. My stats are rough as follows: Arrive at landing page - 100% (obviously)
Conversion Rate Optimization | | perfectweb
Click through to buy now page - 15-20%
Actually complete the buy now process - 1% Conversion from organic traffic landing directly on the homepage at http://www.drivingtestnow.co.uk is having a conversion rate of about 5%. It seems odd to me that my highly targeted ad campaign and landing page are convertign so badly compared to the less atrgeted organic search traffic and homepage. Have you got any ideas why this might be occurring and also any tips on how I can improve the conversion rate for my product? Gary...0
