I am doing the On-page SEO for a website that's never had any SEO done before. I will start with the Pages. Is it necessary to do SEO/Keywords for older Posts?
-
Using the On-Page Grader to perform SEO on pages of WordPress website. This website never had any SEO done before. Should I go back and perform the same work on the Post Pages?
-
I pretty much agree with the comments here. What this is basically called is a "content audit" - a process by which you go through old existing content, pull together data and assigned actions to each piece of content.
Here are some guides on how to preform a content audit;
- http://www.quicksprout.com/2014/04/24/how-to-conduct-a-content-audit-on-your-site/
- http://moz.com/blog/content-audit-tutorial
- https://www.distilled.net/blog/seo/how-to-perform-a-content-audit/
The end goal is to determine which content you might;
- Remove
- Update
- Noindex
- Conslidate
- Repurpose
- ...etc
Then you can assign keywords to the content you have left. But I would do the content audit first then assign keywords, because otherwise you'd be assigning keywords to content you might not even keep
-
As Benjamin just above said...if you can "update" that content by adding fresh links or latest thinking or 5 new items to consider....then re-publishing same....it does revitalize the content, gets it reindexed again and hopefully new traffic to boot!
-
If that content could be made to rank for terms that could bring in new visitors then definitely - it would be a wasted opportunity otherwise. This is especially true for evergreen content that will be useful to potential customers or clients for years to come.
-
Yes, you should. Some of the best bloggers I've read/heard of, spend significant time going back to their older posts. They check for broken links, better phrasing, better keywords and implementation, etc. Plus, some of your older posts could may be "evergreen" i.e. not time sensitive, so - if they are quality - give them their best shot to rank, be read and improve your site overall.
Best,
Ruben

Unsolved How Should I Increase DA of my Website?
Google itself has been troubled by ranking factors. On top of that, the https://mza.seotoolninja.com/ has worn a new garland of domain authority. It is even more regrettable when a website DA suddenly decreased. As recently on 22nd September, my website's DA was 16. As usual, on September 23, I posted a new informational blog related to QuickBooks antivirus exclusions on my website. The very next day my website DA was decreased. Can anyone who knows SEO help me understand why this always happens specially to me every time? I read the whole forum and all I found out is how my site's DA is decreased.

Can anyone let us know whether we can increase the Domain Authority of our website only by creating backlinks or there can be some other activities also?0 -

There are rankings that are incorrect and some users that have the same ranking than other users. I've attached some pics. GR 25603b49292acd5d68f7dd6a43977f94 6d8fea557f6ed2de23466f6c7df850eb0 -

Moz ranking report shows massive loss in Bing SERP's. But it is not the case?
My weekly ranking report shows massive loss of SERP's on Bing. For most keywords I was no longer in the top 50 which where first top 5. But when I checked it out for myself, I'm still ranked top 5 for these keywords. I then used the Moz Rank Tracker and there it also says I'm still ranking top 5 for these keywords. What should I believe now?

Clarify "broad keyword usage in page title"
Hello Page grader has two different grades for page title that I want clarification on. There is "Broad Keyword Usage in Page Title" and "Exact Keyword Usage in Page Title". Googling around about and searching here I have found that "broad" seems to mean the keywords should be used throughout the page, rather than just in the title and header. Which makes sense as this is a kind of check to ensure the page IS about the keywords and not something unrelated. But what is meant by "broad" usage in the page title? This refers specifically to the page title and not the whole document. My best guess got me to this, given the keyword "Visit London Today"; "Come and visit London today" - exact match only "London - visit today" - broad match only "Visit London the city of dreams | visit London today" - matches both That could be complete nonsense, but basically is broad usage the use of keywords scattered in the page title? Thanks.

"Avoid Keyword Self-Cannibalization" - can't find the problem
Hi, I understand what this means (or at least I think I do!), but I can't find where the problem lies. The keyword is "fire warden training" and the url is http://www.tutis-fire.co.uk/fire-warden-training-courses/ If anyone could lend a helping hand, I'd appreciate it.

New website launched 3 weeks ago but not sure what Moz Analysis is telling me?
Hi 3 weeks ago I re-branded and completely changed the proposition on www.over50choices.co.uk as the URL is appropriate to the proposition. And whilst it looks good I am unsure what the Moz Tools are telling me, other than it doesnt look good? There should be about 163 pages, but Moz reports over 500 due to i think so many 301's? Plus most pages under the HTTP Status reports No Data! Most of the the 404's are from the old site. Webmaster Tools say 163 pages submitted but only 2 indexed, but on site:search it says about 117 but 40+ of these are the old site. It looks a mess...! Sleepless nights have started - any thoughts!? Thanks Ash
