Exactly what Chris said check out this article - http://moz.com/blog/beginners-guide-to-link-building Content is key with SEO so make sure the content is relevant on the blog which you are placing the link on.
Do not use any pay $50 dollars for x amount of links etc as these may give you a slight boost short term but will affect you in the long term.
They add links to comments of blogs with all different topics and content so they are not trusted and have low page ranks.

Hello, I couldn't find a clear answer to the impact on SEO for a link written in this way: [" class="expert_info" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">](w</span>ww.yourwebsite.com<span style=) [Does the "return false" act as a "no follow"? I came across this in our link data in Open Site Explorer which lists these links all as "no follows." However, an engineer I spoke to said that it shouldn't impact search engine behavior. Any ideas? Hi mozzers, I've had some great success reaching out to many .edu webmasters. Often they are professors and such. My question is, i'm guessing during the summer holiday period, reaching out to these webmasters won't be so fruitful. I'm not in the US and was wondering when the US Summer holidays are for universities over there? Also, does anyone have experience outreaching to these webmasters over the holidays? Peter

The quality of links is measured by website relevancy to my business?
In Open Site Explorer links are being valued with Domain Authority and page Authority. My question is if you measure somehow the relevancy of the website with the business of the website to which the links are going? I have learned that an important part of the value of links is the relevancy of the website with my business. I am seeing for example a link from a children website to a car related website as very much valued. I dont see very much relevancy with both so I wonder you take this into account.
