Improve facebook page interaction

I have this page which used to get great feedback and interaction. As we have grown the interaction has dropped. Facebook has implemented their ridiculous policy of not sending content out as they should which is part of the issue.
Anyways, I am looking for general feedback as to how I can boost this page's engagement. I am not going to pay to boost my posts to my already existing fans. So please provide other options.

I would have to spend 100-150 per post to reach my entire audience. And that would not lead to a lot of site visits or conversions for me for the money that I am spending.

Tracking ROI is not an issue. Branding without ROI is an issue.
Cutomer service for me is no marketing, you plugin any CRM software into your FB account and you have an additional channel to stay in touch with your customers and that's ok.
So we have one thing called branding, take the brand you think is more appropriate for FB branding, Coca Cola, Burberry, Tesla, whatever you want. And write down a formula which calculate the ROI of your branding investement on FB for that brand. I would love to see that figure.

While there's many reasons for a brand not to invest in Facebook, having issues tracking ROI directly back to sales is not one of them. There are many other reasons to invest in social media that support marketing efforts: branding, customer service, community building, etc.
I do think many brands overly invest in Facebook when they shouldn't because it's not right for their audience.

I may sound naive, but in my balance sheet what it matters is sales, revenue and profit. Branding has a value as long as it bring customers, otherwise is charity to FB.
If you have any numbers showing your branding spending on FB translate into sales and thus can be called investement, I would gladly see those numbers, otherwise it's charity.

Not sure why you wouldn't want to pay to market to an audience that has already said they "liked" your brand. Instead you are going to run ads on Google to people who you have no idea if they're interested in you? You've garnered 10000 likes and you can spend $30 per post to promote it to everyone. If it is engagement and reach you want, $30-$50 can go a long way.
My companies FB page has a little over 4000 followers. Without promoting, 100-200 of them see a post and we only get a handful of likes and maybe one comment. When we promote them for $30 we got almost 100% reach to our followers, upwards of 100 likes and anywhere from 5-15 comments.
Not all marketing is conversion focused. Like you said, we use Facebook for branding. Great. Branding isn't free though. If you posted 4 times a week and paid $25/post to promote those posts you are looking at $400/month to build your brand to people who have already given you the thumbs up.
You can use that marketing spend to identify brand ambassadors and then slowly create a community of people who will advocate for you and your product. If you come at it with the thinking: "If I spend $100 I need 3 customers then Facebook is definitely not the right place for you."

Yes, we always include an image when posting a link.

That's interesting. Our links and videos are by far the lowest reaching pieces of content. Our links only get shared if we include them in with an image

We tried many of the same things they describes and got to the same conclusion. Links posting is getting the second largest reach. In our case differently from others, video uploads got the largest reach.

Well we have already moved our monthly budget to instagram and adwords. We are focusing more on twitter now too as we still maintain our Facebook page. But we can't afford to be throwing away money on a platform that I feel is dying.

I think it's very much worth figuring out and questioning why you use Facebook as a medium for your marketing. What you get out of it and what people get from your brand. For Moz, we know people contact us there for customer support, and even if our posts get shown to 0 people (at which point, we'd stop posting there), we'll need to maintain a presence because people reach out to us at a higher volume there. This is not true for everyone.
Buffer recently did some testing on their Facebook account with various techniques, and here's what they found.
In my opinion, it's very okay for a social media manager to say "Facebook isn't working for us anymore, this is not where we'll be putting our time anymore." And telling customers that on the page. Since Facebook is a free network and you don't own it, unfortunately, this means that they can change the functionality at anytime and there's nothing we can do about it.

It totally makes Facebook a waste of time for marketing. I used it to build up brand recognition. All of my likes have been organic through contests, giveaways, and paid FB ads. I have spent a good deal of money building up my name on FB just to have my efforts made meaningless by this change in their system.
I do not personally care if 5000 people see a funny image that I post. That does not help me in any way. But sadly 90% of my posts are images as that is the only thing that Facebook sends out. The few times that I do try to push out an actual link to my site dies in vain as apparently only 300 of 50,000 people are shown the link, and only 20-40 people will like my links.
I saw this Federalist post when it first came out and thought it was interesting. I tested it on a client's site and did not see similar results.

Yes, unfortunately, over the past year and a half or so, Facebook has drastically changed its algorithm in what it will show users in their News Feed. Unfortunately, brand pages have suffered the brunt of this. At Moz, we've seen something very similar. We have over 170,000 "likes" to our page, but our posts rarely see more than 3,000 views and some are as low as 400. We also play by the book and try to engage our audience in relevant manners, which Facebook has claimed is how to get more engagement.
In February of this year, the Federalist tried to "crack the Facebook algo." They found several strong factors and came up with the following equation about Daily Organic Reach of your page:
Daily Organic Reach = -22 + (Total Likes x 5.399%) + (Daily Paid Reach x 0.327%) + (Page Views x 0.416%) + (Weekend [1 if yes, 0 if no] x -194.4) + (Posts Per Day x 81.08)
I'd love to see more brands messing around with the elements in this algo -- which include paid ads, which Facebook swears don't count for or against your organic reach -- to see how much is true.

Yep, Facebook has massively changed how it shows content to followers of your page, which has killed most organic showings in the newsfeed or severely limited it. This started about a year and a half ago and has just gotten worse over time.

Regarding what you mentioned in your original question about how Facebook disseminates information… They have changed the way posts show up on peoples news feeds, is that correct? It is my understanding that if people aren't liking things regularly from a specific page the posts from that page show up on their newsfeed at all. So basically, if I have followers that are not steadily engaging with my page, it is likely that I won't recover them as people to interact with because they are not seeing my posts? Unless I'm understanding it incorrectly.
I'm sorry to only have a question for you and not a possible solution!

I have a similar experience, we have 10k real fans, with pictures or text we get between 50 and 300 people coverage. Videos are doing better, between 400 and 800 people coverage.
We post three times a day, 0 conversions for the past few months. For us is a waste of time.
The only thing which make sense is offering a coupon in exchange for user email, we also tried promoting it with FB ads reaching outside of our fan base and we were getting emails at around 1 USD each. But nobody was buying and we stopped that too.

I've found that Facebook and much social media marketing is a process, you can't expect huge results right away. If you do follow steps similar to this, over time you will build your audience and reach the people that you ultimately are targeting and have an audience that will engage with the content the way you are wanting them to.
Think for a moment about some of the last items you commented on. What were they? The general population is going to comment on and share things that involvehumor and stories they connect with, or items that touch them emotionally and inspire them in some way.
All of us who manage Facebook Pages need to find a way to enter the world of the Facebook user once again with fresh eyes.

- Ask for Likes
- Target Different Fans

Thanks for the response but I do not really find that helpful. We have tracked our stats to post at optimal times and have found the best content to share. But it is not helpful for us. Unless it is a picture Facebook seems to have no interest in sharing our content. Videos and text gets almost no coverage with their alorithm.
We have tried adjusting and have found ways to get around this, but nothing works. When we have 50,000 REAL facebook fans and they only send our content out to 400 people then there is a real problem.

Trying to find a WP application (that does not require a FB application) that synchronizes website blog posts with a company facebook page
I'm not a developer and it's been about 5 years since I helped a client synchronize their wordpress blog posts with their FB page. I remember it being much simpler to do this in the past. However recently I'm noticing that all of the WP auto post applications require a Facebook application to get the synchronization to function properly.

Facebook adds a trailing slash to urls?
Hey Guys, we are facing a problem in our www.batuta.com with Facebook shares. Seems like because we choose to set our preferred canonical version urls to end with a trailing slash ( / ), like this one e.g.: www.batuta.com/الوجهات/إسبانيا/ Facebook adds automatically another ( / ) when trying to read the url on first share before its ever indexed in FB. Which makes Facebook think its a bad request! cause then the URL has two // at the end of it. hope this was clear. anyway, so first question: did anybody face this issue before? any solutions? Second, and might be more important: I might be forced to face the option of changing the canonical tags to be a url without a ( / ) if I will have to do this I will enforce a redirect on every url request with an ending trailing slash ( / ) to be redirected to the new canonical version without. will this be enough? how big am I supposed to suffer here? am I facing a long time with double indexed urls? wonder if anybody faced this problem before! Company FB Page Automatically Friend-Requesting Admins' Contacts
Hola, So today we added 3 or 4 admins to our company FB page. Our company FB consists of a 'profile' and that 'profile' has create a FB 'page' for the business. All of a sudden, the profile (not the company 'page') started to get a new friends. We thought this was weird as we weren't using this for promotion, we were using the company FB page. Anyway, when we dug a little deeper, we found the profile had automatically sent friend requests to all of the admins' contacts (around 2,000 people!). When we checked the friend request page, we realised we can't cancel all the requests, they have to be done individually! Why would FB do this? It might not be so bad if it was actually inviting the admins' contacts to 'like' the business page, but it's just adding them to the main profile's friend list. The only solution we can find is to deactivate/delete the profile and keep the company page with all the admin attached. Any ideas on this one? It's very weird and now it just looks like our fleldgling business is spamming people! Cheers, Lewis

Trying to link a Legacy Youtube account to a Google+ Page, the option isn't available...

I am working on one of my clients projects and would love some advice before making some changes to their Google+ and Youtube account. We created the youtube account before Google+ and Youtube combined so we have a seperate name for the Youtube and Google+ Profile. They were created using separate emails, but both emails are managers of each others "account." We can't combine the two as it won't give me the option, only the option to create a new Youtube channel based on the Google+ Profile. But I already have videos loaded up on the Older Channel that I would like to keep and use for my current Google+ Profile. I have tried to disconnect the Youtube channel to hopefully get the option to link the two, but it just says it is a unavailable option. So my question is:
What advice do you guys have with any of this type of Youtube and Google+ mismatch profile/channels? I am not finding much online besides links to unattaching accounts but that is giving me a message saying that it isn't possible. Or would creating a new channel linked to the Google+ page and just reuploading the videos/transcripts be my best bet? Best option for Facebook Page/Usernames?
Hey guys My first post here! currently trialling seomoz and impressed so far 🙂 My question relates to a choice of Facebook page/username for a client whose preference is to refer to their online business name by the domain name, where this business name includes his two most important keywords. So as an example: firstsecondthird.co.uk Now in terms of seo that's fine as search engines factor in keywords in the domain name, and even referring to domain name in website copy does not seem to pose too many issues. However on Facebook I've noticed that if we go with page name of: FirstSecondThird (obsiously we can't add .co.uk - I've used camel case for readability) then when using the facebook search the page does NOT get listed for any of the keywords as it appears it only matches on whole strings. So I'm going to recommend that he changes Faceook page name to First Second Third (with spaces) even though client does not really like this option. Do you guys think that makes sense? Also if I do make that change should I also go with fixed Username of First-Second-Third i.e. with hyphens or stick with one long string i.e. FirstSecondThird, which matches the domain name? Any advice appreciated. PS hope this is under right topic- several others seemed applicable Thanks

Facebook Page not in Search
My Facebook page does not show up within the first 50 results of a search for my brand. I have over 3,000 fans and am relatively active so it should be there. On the second page of SERPs for my brand there is a Facebook page of a spammy looking affiliate with 15 fans. On the third page my Facebook test page appears. Any ideas about what happened with my page? Is it possible Google penalized my Facebook page - and if so, how do I fix that? I checked the admin again and the page is open to the public and when I do a search for "brand facebook" it appears. Thanks for your help!

Focus Facebook Likes and +1 to URL or Page?
We are considering adding the +1 and facebook like widget to the footer of all our pages, but we can't decide whether to point them to our URL or to our respective Google Plus / Facebook Page. Ideally, we would prefer poiting them to our pages instead of our site URL, but I'm not so sure if we would get as much SEO advantage that way. I was looking for feedback towards the SEO advantages / disadvantages of this at what strategy you guys use. For example: Having +1 our URL would be shown to their friends at the organic results. Having +1 our page would grow our profile, allowing us to communicate with them and would also enable people search +Duplika at Google (like it happens with big brands). What do you suggest?

Google does not index individual facebook posts often?
It looks like google (regular organic) does not index individual posts from facebook pages often, more likely the wall of the page itself or separate pages. Can someone confirm this?
