How do I search for a link within a competitors website that is linking my website?
-
Hello,
I have just been checking my link profile and according to webmaster tools a competitor is linking to my website. Is there anyway of finding this link besides looking at every page within their website?
Many thanks

In Google: site:competitorsite.com yoursite.com
In screaming frog: set custom as your yoursite.com and crawl the competitor's site, then under the custom tab should be any links that refer to your site.

What I find frustrating sometimes is that I'll go to look at the page where the link is supposed to be and it's not there. Crawlers don't update in real time, I'm afraid...

No problem!

Hi Mary,
If you are referring to Google Webmaster Tools, you should be able to find your competitor's website under Search Traffic > Links to Your Site > Who Links the most
When you've located your competitor's website in this list, click on it and it will prompt an overview page that shows you total links and total linked pages. Under Your Pages, select one of your web pages and you'll be able to view all of your competitor's pages that include links to your website. You'll have to locate the link on your competitor's pages but at least this narrows it down for you.
Hope that helps

Did you put your website in Open Site Explorer and see if that link can be seen there? That will give you the information you want. If you don't see it there, you can try a google site search— site:yourcompetitor.com yoursite.com and see if that turns up the link.

Should I disavow these links?
Hi all, I have a site that is a year old, we have been building backlinks organically - probably around 50 or so - then almost overnight we had100s of spammy links. Screenshot here: https://ibb.co/cijiub My questions: Should I disavow these? What happens if I don't disavow these? Can I work out where they came from? If I disavow a few of them, is this a token offering to the Google Gods that will lower my risk of being penalised? Thank you. cijiub

Internal links
It can be bad for the site if I use various items to create links to a page that represents a specific keyword? The articles are relevant and anchor text is not only done on the keyword, but also by using words near the keyword in question.

Why are none of my incoming links showing up in SEOmoz or Google? How do I get good legit incoming links?
There are hundreds of sites that are linking to my website, but nobody is showing it. Google wont display any when using link:eugenecomputergeeks.com, and in webmaster tools it only shows 46 incoming links. SEOmoz shows only 3 links. This just isn't so. Why is this? I DESPERATELY need valid incoming links from well ranked websites , and having lots of trouble getting them. Nobody in town with a well ranked site seems to want to do a link exchange, and I've already made the mistake of buying my way into directories, which didn't do anything good for my rankings. Thanks!

How many nofollow links should we build to have a natural link profile
Hi guys, As with many link builders we have been building lots of dofollow links for our site, so many that mainly our incoming links are dofollow. Some pages have 99.5% dofollow external links which I know is not very natural. In your experience in terms of percentage how much should you have in terms of nofollow external links in your link profile. I noticed SEOMoz has about 12-13% nofollow external links, shall I go with this figure? Thanks guys. David

Link value
Hi I have some links from blogs to our ecom website. My question is if anyone knows what happens if you have several different blogs on .blogspot linking in to you. Does that make them loose value because they are on the same domain? I can probably quite easily have 5-10 blogs on blogspot all with PA of 35-40 link in to us. Is it worth striving for or should i strive to get blogs that have their own domain to link into us instead ? Or equally important ? Dan Lærum
