JS loading blocker
-
Is there a tool, or Chrome extension I can use to load a page, identify the .js on the page, 'uncheck' selected .js and load the page again to check loading correctly? Even better to be able to defer/move to the end of the file to test.

Thanks for checking in, Mick!

Sorry for the delay. I got sidetracked on another project and this client decided they would leave .js as is for the time being so I have not really tested. Initially I couldn't get the Chrome ext to do what I wanted and need to look at Firefox.

Hi Mick, did you find what you were looking for? We'd love an update. Thanks!

Hey Mick,
I use Firebug there is a version for Chrome, but it was originally built for Firefox.
Full java-script debugging, breaking, conditional breaking, watching, step in, and profiling
Chrome Version Here: https://getfirebug.com/releases/lite/chrome/
Hope this helps,

I´ve found this discussion about the same subject if you want to have a look

Good luck

thanks, that's quite handy but not what I need in this case. This tool seems to switch off .js for the whole page. I'm looking for something where I can cherry pick the .js on the page I want to block, or ideally move.

Page speed load time - 3 seconds
This Moz blog references a page load time of 2-3 seconds. I've seen the 3 seconds referenced elsewhere, but I'm not sure what that measurement is -- is the target a 3 second speed index, or 3 second CPU idle? Or something else? Curious if anyone knows the answer. https://mza.bundledseo.com/blog/website-page-speed

Can you use multiple videos without sacrificing load times?
We're using a lot of videos on our new website (www.4com.co.uk), but our immediate discovery has been that this has a negative impact on load times. We use a third party (Vidyard) to host our videos but we also tried YouTube and didn't see any difference. I was wondering if there's a way of using multiple videos without seeing this load speed issue or whether we just need to go with a different approach. Thanks all, appreciate any guidance! Matt

Loading images below the fold? Impact on SEO
I got this from my developers. Does anyone know if this will be a SEO issue? We hope to lazy-load images below the fold where possible, to increase render speed - are you aware of any potential issues with this approach from an SEO point of view?

If the order of products on a page changes each time the page is loaded, does this have a negative effect on the SEO of those pages?
Hello, a client of mine has a number of category pages that each have a list of products. Each time the page is reloaded the order of those products changes. Does this have a negative effect on the pages' rankings? Thank you

Lazy loading workarounds?
Hi, I was hoping for some concise answers on lazy loading and seo. From the user standpoint, lazy loading images in our galleries makes the most sense by reducing load times without needing to paginate our content onto multiple page loads (i.e. all our content on one page, but loading as needed). example gallery: http://roadcyclinguk.com/news/gear-news/pro-bikes-franco-pellizottis-bianchi-sempre-pro.html The flip side is that this ends up with our images not getting fetched properly and I was wondering what the options are around this. It has been suggested that we add a <noscript>tag against the images, but I wanted to check that this will get read properly by the googlebots.</p> <p>Thanks all!</p></noscript>

Javascript late loaded content not read by Gogglebot
Hi, We have a page with some good "keyword" content (user supplied comment widget), but there was a design choice made previously to late load it via JavaScript. This was to improve performance and the overall functionality relies on JavaScript. Unfortunately since it is loaded via js, it isn't read by Googlebot so we get no SEO value. I've read Google doesn't weigh <noscript>content as much as regular content. is this true? Once option is just to load some of the content via <noscript> tags. I just want to make sure Google still reads this content.</p> <p>Another option is to load some of the content via simple html when loading the page. If JavaScript is enabled, we'd hide this "read only" version via css and display the more dynamic user friendly version. - Would changing display based on js enabled be deemed as cloaking? Since non-js users would see the same thing (and this provides a ways for them to see some of the functionality in the widget, it is an overall net gain for those users too).</p> <p>In the end, I want Google to read the content but trying to figure out the best way to do so.</p> <p>Thanks,</p> <p>Nic</p> <p> </p></noscript>

I need help on web page load time, its very bad!
Note: This is KILLING my customer experience. Here is my webpage: http://www.stbands.com Here is a speed test that may help you (look at the poor ratings in the upper corner) http://www.webpagetest.org/result/110628_MW_Y8CQ/1/details/ I have an F on "Cache Static Content" - anyone know how I can fix this? Also, it is a e-commerce website hosted through core commmerce. I have some access to code but not all of it. Some of it is dynamic. However, if you tell me specific things I can forward it to their very awesome tech department. They are very willing to work with me and are now considering implementing a CDN after I schooled them. Any help is greatly appreciated. Don't be afraid to get very technical - I may not understand it, but the engineers there will.
