Someone mentioned us on facebook and brought 10k clicks to homepage.. how do I find the content?
-
So this morning our website started to go crazy with hits all coming from Facebook, and I am trying to figure out how I can see who was talking about us? All the traffic landed on one page specifically. When I look in analytics it just shows social, and then I can drill down to see they are coming from facebook, but that's it.

This will work if you have a unique title. However, Facebook will always show text from your friends posts first.
Don't forget to check your brand page mentions in the wall as someone might have tagged you. (If you have a brand page...)
You also might check somewhere like Reddit to see if people are sharing it there and if they mention where they found it.

Sadly, this is correct that Facebook doesn't pass anymore referral data.
This will get you posts that are public. YMMV on how many it returns since Facebook and Google don't play well together.

Maybe try a search internal to Facebook. Type your company name. Facebook will autosuggest options. Skip the one that probably represents your own facebook page, assuming you have one, and click on "company name" (probably the last option shown on the drop-down list).
-
In analytics you can't - referrer will always be just facebook.com
If it's a private profile in facebook which posted the link, you will probably never now.If it's a public one - you could try searching indexed pages of facebook in google like: "title of your landingpage" site:facebook.com or "url-of-your-site" site:facebook.com - but I doubt it will work

Try adding a secondary dimension for referral path in GA.

Is there a way to find out who the admin of a Google Analytics account is?
We have a client who has been searching high and low to gain access to the GA account that is tied to their website, but previous agencies keep stating they don't have access. Is there a way to find out who the admins are on a GA account with the tracking number so we can reach out to that person and ask them to admin the client?

Fresh Content Still As important?
We have an internal debate, that perhaps y'all can help us resolve. In the past "freshness" of content has been important, correct? (Google's QDF for example) In the past (to present) when we build a site with the intent to SEO the site, we build the core pages with the expectation that we will be adding more site pages as the project progresses, thus settling the "fresh content" factor. But it has been proposed to us, from a client, that completely building the site out with all the pages you hope to rank, getting the upfront bang for your buck. The expectation is that the traffic soars right-off. Now the client says that he has been doing this for years and has not been affected by any alog changes. (although we have not seen proof of this from him) So our question is this: Is it better to provide a website full of fresh content at the beginning of the project, for a jumpstart on traffic, then leave the site alone ( for the most part) or Is it better to have core pages of fresh content at the start, and build out new pages from their, so the website remains fresh every month? And can you prove your argument? (we need cold hard facts to be convinced 🙂

How do I find "bad" backlinks
Hi, I have used open site explorer to review our back links, but I don't know how to determine which ones are bad? For example, I think I am getting penalized for links from strictlygifts.com, but not sure. StrictlyGifts is a second site of ours that has a web hosting plan (our main site does not have hosting - long story). We use this site to store things that link to our main site, trophycentral.com. As an example, we have several online catalogs with hundreds of pages that link to products on trophy central. I have a gut feeling that this is hurting us, but I don't know how to confirm it. I can easily remove the links but don't want to if they are helping us. Can anyone help? Thanks!!!

Finding and removing "Bad" Back Links
In the process of trying to figure out where all of the “Bad” backlinks are coming from I used the SEOmoz Site Explorer. I can see the links that may be questionable but am not sure how to determine if these are the issue causing the loss of rank or could it be something else. On Google webmasters they list Siteloki.com as the one with the most links. The count is now at 13,005. (see attached WMT report)

I first noticed this a month ago, 6,742 links and have tried contacting them with no reply, no results, I have even posted on the site asking to be removed from their listing and not response. Website: www.getyourphotosoncanvas.com I do not understand why this site is not showing up in the Site Explorer link analysis report (See attached)? Could this be some sort of hack or hidden links that Site Explorer does not see? How do I determine if this is real or not, if it is the reason that Google is demoting us? Google says that we are not being manually penalized? 5zAQq Iz9ct0 -
Facebook referrals
Does anyone know how to find this out. When I use Google Analytics to monitor a website, I am receiving referrals from Facebook, but it does not tell me the source on Facebook. Only that it is coming from Facebook somewhere.
