Www and non-www
-
I have a site that has used both www and non-www urls since inception years ago. Moz is saying that I have 183 pages of duplicate content, and it is all because each internal link has both versions. Both versions have high PR and links going back to them...should I still 301 redirect to one of them or should I leave them be?
Thanks
Brad

No problem Bradley!
The redirects will pass authority but not 100% of it. I wouldn't worry too much about it honestly. Here is a post on the topic, its a bit old (2012) but hopefully it helps explain in more detail.

Thanks Ray and Bryan! My only question then is what will happen to all of the PR and rankings of the pages that I choose to redirect? Will I lose that?
-
I agree with my man Ray from Compton! You should choose one URL (my preference would be the non-www since it is shorter) and set everything else to redirect there to avoid the duplicate issues you're seeing in Moz.
Cheers!

You should choose a single URL and 301 all other versions to that single chosen URL. If you keep them the current way, they are seen as duplicate content.
Make sure to configure your Google Webmaster Tools for the single domain, as well as, adjusting your Google Analytics to read the home page properly.

Removing non www and index.php
Hi, I'm green when it comes to altering the htaccess file to remove non www and index.php. I think I've managed to redirect the urls to www however not sure if I've managed to remove the index.php. I'm pasting the contents of the htaccess file here maybe someone can identify if I have unwanted lines of code and if it is up to standard (there are a lot of comments in #) not sure if needed but I've left them as I don't want to screw up anything. Which is better to use: apostrophe version or non-apostrophe version?
When targeting a keyword phrase that contains an apostrophe (in the correct spelling), is it better to use the non-apostrophe version if it has higher search volume.

Should I make All My "Non-Money" Pages No-Follow?
I'm branching out here from my novice seo status . . . In an effort to channel page rank to the pages I wish to rank for should I make all my non-money pages no-follow. Pages like "contact us", "about us", "application", etc. It seems to make sense to make these no follow so the page rank flows to the pages I wish to rank for. Am I on the right track?

Why does http://www.southernhearth.com rank so well for patio furniture and outdoor furniture?
I was looking at the competitiveness of ranking for the keywords "patio furniture" & "outdoor furniture" and was shocked to see www.southernhearth.com ranking so well. While I am just getting into the research, I was unable to see anything that would justify it's rank. What are your thoughts?

How do you create a 301 redirect for www.mysite..com/index.html in htaccess.
I understand that it is possible to create a 301 redirect for www.mysite..com/index.html to www.mysite.com. (as well as subdirectories.) How is this accomplished? My hosting company says that setting this up in htaccess will cause "Apache to geti into an infinite loop and the page won’t load." I have read on the forum that this is possible. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. THanks. Perri
