Best way to build backlinks
-
Hey guys,
I was wondering what is the best way to build back links ? I have all the read moz's articles regarding this and I know the crucial parts are creating content, engaging users via social media etc. What I am interested in knowing is whether guest posting is still a solution to create that domain authority you need to rank ? I've spoken with some people that told me guest posting is out of date and will not pay off using it. By using guest posting of course I relate to creating unique content and valuable to the user.
Thanks,
Andrei

Hi Don,
I felt it was best to re-prhase the question since I was lacking a concrete answer. The answers in the previous question have been of great value to me. Thanks again for your willingness to answer my questions.
Best,
Andrei

Hi Ryan,
Thanks again for your answer, I appreciate it. Normally when you create a Link Building campaign for one of your websites what steps do you take in creating an optimal link building campaign ? For example, how do you prioritise your link ( e.g Social, Guest post etc. ). I know there are many metrics behind google's ranking system, but I wanted to know out of your experience how would you handle this ? I am trying to rank for 'outdoor fitness' on GoogleUK and my website is www.norwelloutdoorfitness.co.uk.
Thanks again,
Andrei

HI Andrei,
You received a lot of good responses the first time you asked the question, http://moz.com/community/q/link-building-still-effective
Do you feel that it was not adequately answered? Is there something more specific we can help with?
There is no magic wand for building backlinks. Some times the hard way and the right way are the same way.
Good luck,
Don

I think if guest posting becomes a tactic that is done on thin content websites or blogs that reproduce a lot of duplicate content then it should be avoided. However, guest posting in the sense of a book author writing something like a review of short story collections on a site outside their own is very common, or an article written in an industry-relevant news site by another company or leader in the field is also quite common. Both of these examples and many others are guest posting in the positive sense. But they take having a site or work or product that generates interest in and of itself. You should be able to guest post on a site that isn't specifically designed for guest posting, i.e. your basic pitch should be, "Hello (editor, analyst, reporter, etc.) we (wrote the ABC book, run unique XYZ site, are researching 123) and have recently done some work into your site's specific focus. Please let me know if you'd be interested in sharing something written by us with your readers." Ideally your guest post is accepted because you're advanced in your field, versus being an SEO tactic.

Backlink builder (Professional)
If I wanted to hire a professional person to build high quality backlinks for me, where would I look? I'm asking here because I'd rather go on the recommendation of other businesses owners, than a google search. Does anyone have a person that they can recommend? It's for an insurance agency in Texas. Many thanks

Affiliate link building
I saw articles that said affiliate link building is not good. We are a training company that offer only some training programs. My idea is get other training company to link back to us, but only if they do not offer the same training as we do. We could reward them by giving them commission if the sale happens. But to do this we will need to track the URL where the hit came in from from our website. Is this a good idea or not?

Best Methods and Tools for Monitoring your Website's Backlinks
Recently, I've launched two websites. I want to make sure I'm doing a good job monitoring our link building efforts. I'm see a lot of tools out there to supplement my use of Open Site Explorer. What I want to know is what tools I should be using to monitor my links? My ultimate goal would be to have the data to track the number of links I'm adding a month so that I can use it for reporting. There is another layer. Because the sites are new, OSE is actually not reporting any links found. I can only find reported links through Google Search Console. Any advice? Is this something where I will just have to wait for everything to get indexed?

Link Building
I'm having difficulty creating a solid link base. I would prefer to only have links that are on relevant sites that are likely to drive traffic rather then just adding my company page to site directories. I've checked out the whiteboard Friday edition of link building and have also used the new Moz analytics that helps recommend sites to link to, but all the recommendations were directories. So, could anyone hold my hand and guide me through the world of Link building? Your help, as always, is much appreciated. Thanks everyone Dave

Link Building with Widdgets and Tools
Hi, We run a affiliate program and as part of that program we offer free tools that our affiliates can take in order to help them promote our product. We have also used these tools as a link building method as we provide highly useful information. We have seen on Google Link Schemes page (http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=66356) the following part which we believe has only just been added: Links embedded in widgets that are distributed across various sites, for example: Visitors to this page: 1,472

car insurance Our tool basically consists of a link of JavaScript with a link outside of the tool as per the following example: this super widget was provided by mydomain.com We are now concerned that a link building process that we have used for many years is now considered to be gaming Google. We also do something similar with badges that we give out to approved suppliers. These would look something like the following: Approved Supplier http://mydomain.co.uk/ Any recommendations on whether or not the style we are using would now be considered as wrong to Google, even though they add value to our partners sites. Thanks for any help in advance.0 -
Link Building for Landing Page
Hey Guys, I have a client that is launching a website in about 2-3 months time. They have had a flash site for the last 4 years and have had no SEO/Link Building to the site and are now going to undertake my services for Content Strategy, Social Strategy and Link Building. In the interim (from now till the next 3 months) they will be launching a "coming soon" landing page. What I want to know is when doing their initial link building do I just concentrate on brand related links through local directories with the aim of getting a few local keyterms? Or should we be deploying a longer term strategy of going after the competitive keyterms now? Thanks,
