Server Connectivity

Hey there
When we go to our webmaster tools there is a orange triangle. The issue is that Google's robot can not access our site.
Does anyone know why this could be?
Thanks!

No problem - private message!
-
Thanks guys!. We are checking it..
Kevin, please forgive my ignorance , what is PM?
Cheers!
-
After the first step and Gerd's second step, I would check to see if the dns and/or firewall settings are not the issue (I would also assume that your hosting account is already verified).
If you PM me with the site, I will gladly take a look. Good luck!

First stop would be to go to GWMT and then go to "Health -> Fetch as Google" and test the homepage and some public pages.
Have a look at the results provided by GWMT.

Hey Kevin,
No we dont...Which would be the next step?
Thanks again

Do you have a robots.txt file prohibiting indexing (we can start here).

Our clients Magento 2 site has lots of obsolete categories. Advice on SEO best practice for setting server level redirects so I can delete them?
Our client's Magento website has been running for at least a decade, so has a lot of old legacy categories for Brands they no longer carry. We're looking to trim down the amount of unnecessary URL Redirects in Magento, so my question is: Is there a way that is SEO efficient to setup permanent redirects at a server level (nginx) that Google will crawl to allow us at some point to delete the categories and Magento URL Redirects? If this is a good practice can you at some point then delete the server redirects as google has marked them as permanent?

If some rooted domains providing back links to a website are from the same server, would it cause an issue?
My client with alliedautotransport.com has a brother that owns hundreds of relevant websites that has great content on there, however, if we have him do some back linkings from those pages from the same server, would it hurt the rankings or make a difference?

Does server affect indexing speeds?
A bit of a strange question this one: I have a domain which, when on my Dutch server, can get new blog posts indexed and ranking in less than 10 mins using the pubsubshubbub plugin. However, I moved the blog and domain to a UK dedicated server and continued to post. Days later none of these posts were indexed. I then moved the domain back to the Dutch server to test this, I posted in the blog and once again, indexed and ranking in 20 mins or so. To cut a long and tedious story short; In a bid to be closer to my customers I moved the domain to a UK VPS three days back. I posted but no posts are indexed. Anyone else experienced anything like this? Generally I don't move domains back and forward so much but wanted to test this out. The Ducth server is a 16 core 24gb Direct Admin dedicated, the two UK servers were both running Cpanel. I understand that it would be best to host as close to possible to the customers but the hardship of getting posts indexed in the UK is becoming a problem. Thanks, Carl

How do I redirect non www pages to www on a windows server?
As the .htaccess file cannot be worked on, I added this php code 301 redirect if the URL does not contain a www on all the pages (small website - 10 pages) : header( "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently" ); header( "Location: $location" ); I want to know if this is ok for SEO? Has anyone done this on a windows server? Or if you have any better methods, it would be great if you can share. Please help. Thanks.
