Why Moz Back links check tool is very Slow compared with other tools?
-
I've created a new website 50 days old with a vision of sharing high-quality content. I created some pages which are useful and helpful, what make other people link to my site.
Early days, two weeks ago I've started checking my backlinks starting with Ahref and majestic. three days ago I decided to join Moz too and use Moz explorer. But, I discovered that Moz tool is too slow compared with other tools. Why?
Starting with Ahref. They discovered more than 100 links and updating their data for my site as a new website every 6 hours as I know.
Also majestic for the first time discovered six links then every two days they updating their data. Even Google discovered some of my backlinks. Specially links from high-quality sites such as Wikipedia with high-quality pages.
Moz tool discovered zero of my backlinks even after subscribing. I don't think Moz need to discover websites like Wikipedia which already indexed by Moz.
So, I wonder Why Moz tools are very very very slow like that?
Update: (This is a question, not a discussion. So, please don't edit it)
Can any Moz support answer please?
Thanks.

I'm so sorry! Honestly, your best bet will be to email [email protected] about the issue. They can look more deeply into it and determine what's going on, and what might need to be done to fix the problem.
I'm sure you and they can get this resolved!

The tool isn't showing any data at all. ZERO links!
-
I'm so sorry it's still not working for you. Just to make sure I'm understanding the issue you're having, is the problem that the tool isn't functioning at all? Or that there are pages you expect to be indexed that aren't indexed?
-
Hey Matt, Actually it's not!
It's hard to believe that Moz didn't index a PR5 Wikipedia page, I would like to help with my account in anything may solve the problem for me, you and other members, you can use my account as a test.
I don't know what can I do after this offer really.
Thanks for caring,
Eslam

Hi Eslam!
You're right—we have had some outages over the past week or so. You can always get updates on that sort of thing on our Health page. Looks like things should be working now, but you can still see the updates on the issue and what we did to fix it.
Is it working for you?

In general I'm talking about more than DA and PA. In fact, I'm talking about it's not working at all (the tool). It's not showing any data. So, why? When? How? What? .. etc.
Any information about why it's not working? When will it work? And, what I can do?...
I really appreciate any specific information about this case.
Thank you, Andy.

If your talking about DA and PA not updating, this updates on average around once a month, link to find out about the next update and previous update stats: moz.com/products/api/updates

Hey andy,
Thank you so much for interesting about helping me.
But, let's be honest for a moment. Moz is a great place .. yes it's. Moz provides a lot of helpful and useful different things. Some for free and some for money. About things for money, I would like to be so authoritative. I will pay per time so I want to take per time as well.
We pay for quality and fast results, we pay less for slower results. Poor results don't deserve any money.
I do agree with you that Moz will never crawl the entire web. But perhaps it will crawl part of the web. As you check website backlinks, you will realize that you never see same results. Ahref discover some, SEMRush discover some, Google discovers some, ..etc.
We use them for different reasons. Most important reason is to know how much you site is trustful and authority. Because these factors affect our ranking in search engines results. And we know that there's no perfect tool. But, they do help. If not, why we have to use them?
I wish Moz improve they services soon.
Thank you very much and All the Best,
Eslam

No tool is perfect and will find all your back links straight away, even Google doesn't find them immediately, so I use a combination of Moz, Ahrefs, Majestic and Webmaster tools to monitor new links.
It will just be a case of when Moz crawlers, crawl the website you have got a link from.
As Moz is relatively small compared to Google, it cant and probably never will crawl the entire web, so it tends to crawl the more larger sites first and crawls the sites which changes frequently more often.
It all depends what you want from the software.
I use:
Moz, ahrefs, majestic, searchmetrics, rankwatch, SEMRush - I use them all frequently and depending what info / research I am doing use the specific software.
Moz is great and has some wonderful features (including this forum - arguably one of the best on the web), but it does have its flaws - its crawl database is relatively small (but its growing 366 million urls was crawled on its last count).
Thanks
Andy

Why is there difference in keywords of moz and ahrefs
Hello, my welding helmets website Helmet Adviser is about reviews and is causing me confusion. When I check my site keywords in Moz it shows lesser keywords and when I check in ahrefs it shows more. Same is for backlinks. But Moz keywords research is very authentic and i want to rely on it for keywords and backlinks too. Please elaborate for me why is there diff between Moz and ahref, so I can better utilize Moz by understanding what is going on in the background.

How to download full list of internal links properly with OSE?
Hi Moz Community, I am having issues getting a full list of my internal links when I go to the Open Site Explorer. When I export the internal links into excel, I am getting half of my URLs and 80% of what I am getting is absolutely crazy URLs that are super super old. Plus, these old URLs are not even showing in my campaign crawls. So the crawls themselves are different. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, since I am trying to get a full picture on the internal link structure of my site. Thanks!

403 errors in Moz but not in Google Search Console
Hello, Moz is showing that one of the sites I manage has about ten 403 errors on main pages, including the home page. But when I go to Google Search Console, I'm not getting any 403 errors. I don't know too much about this site (I handle the SEO for a few sites as a contractor for a digital marketing agency), but I can see that it's a WordPress site (I'm not sure if that's relevant). Can I assume this a Moz issue only? Thanks, Susannah Noel

Why is moz telling me I have duplicate content, but neither the content nor the urls are duplicates?
I just upgraded our website to a new one. This is the first crawl of the new website. It is telling me I have 24 Critical issues, all of which are duplicate content errors. Thing is, the urls are not duplicates and the content on the page is not duplicated either. Example, here is one error where it says there are two duplicates: <colgroup><col width="595"></colgroup>

None of the pages crawled contain an email address or links to a social profile...
I'm trying to reduce the amount of spam flags our website has using the Open Site Explorer tool. Currently, we have 2/17 flags based on: Large Site with Few Links - We found very few sites linking to this site, considering its size No Contact Info - None of the pages crawled contain an email address or links to a social profile The "few links" can be ignored, we're working on this. We don't have a visible email address on the website and we don't particularly want one. We prefer customers to fill out our online form or to call us. Moz say "none of the pages crawled contain an email address OR links to a social profile" - we do have social buttons on every page of the website, but these are official Facebook and Twitter buttons that are rendered with Javascript, so don't actually appear in the page source on load. If we replace these with actual links to our pages using Facebook and Twitter icons, will this flag be removed since Moz are saying "or links to a social profile" - making it sound optional. Thanks!

Can't see the link I earned from Moz in OSE
Hi Mozzers, A month ago I got the nofollow tag removed from the first custom link on my Moz profile but I can't see this in our links on OSE? SEO Spyglass shows it just fine. Is this related to the delays in the back end of Moz or have I set up my profile wrong? Cheers! Jamie

Open Site Explorer doesn't show local directories or citation links?
Why is it that when I run a link analysis for my local business sites I don't see any links from Yelp, Google+, Facebook, any local citations? Regardless of them being follow or no follow isn't the hyperlink to a website from a Yelp profile considered a link? Same with any other local business directory? I know the company is listed on a few dozen because I can see it manually but it's not showing up in Moz? Why is it that all local directories and citations with website are omitted? And since it is not there, where is a good place to go to discover these things? I have tried whitespark. It was okay but honestly I wasn't terribly impressed. The data was good, the UI was just okay, but with smaller clients it was an initial check and then very occasional checks that needed to happen. We would go months without using it.
