301'ing old (2000), high PR, high pages indexed domain
-
Hi,
I have an old (2000), very high PR, 20M+ pages indexed by goog domain which... got adsense banned.
The domain has taken a few hits over the years from penguin/panda, but come out pretty well compared to many competitors. The problem is it was adsense banned in the big adsense acct ban of 2012 for invalid activity. No, I still have no idea what the issue was.
I'd like to start using a new domain if I can safely get goog to pass the PR & indexing love so I can run adsense & Adx.
What are your initial thoughts? Am I out of my mind to try?
-
If you're saying that organically it's ranking well you'll see a dip from the redirection process. If you like the site and don't want the risks associated in redirecting, you should probably avoid redirecting it.
-
Any thoughts on the 301'ing of a site with such stats??
-
So you have individually been banned? You're probably out of luck there.
-
I dunno, it's not like I have anything to lose adsense wise. I can't use it now.
-
Couldn't tell ya. If you have an existing relationship with an account rep there I'd work directly with them on both points. Personally the linking of a banned site to a clean account sounds very high risk.
-
Do many 'related' accts get shut down if the new site/acct is running clean?

Hi Steve. EGOL would be the expert on this question for sure. And just to clarify it was only a site that triggered removal and not you as an individual or company? Beyond that, here's the official guide on how to get a site reinstated based on appeal:
We're always willing to work with you to resolve any issues you might have. If you feel that this decision was made in error, and if you can maintain in good faith that the invalid activity was not due to the actions or negligence of you or those for whom you are responsible, you may appeal the disabling of your account.
To do so, please contact us only through our appeal form.
Once we receive your appeal, we'll do our best to inform you quickly and will proceed with appropriate action as necessary. Please understand, however, that there is no guarantee that your account will be reinstated.
Once we've reached a decision on your appeal, further appeals may not be considered, and you might not receive any further communication from us.
From: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/57153#q2 Chances are you've already tried this and the appeal was rejected. Did you go over each and every point of their reasoning behind invalid activity? Did you go full kimono? You could try once more but I'd preface that as FINAL appeal and then let it rest and look for different advertisers.
If you do pursue linking the old, banned account to a new one, you'd probably run afoul of, "My account was disabled for being related to another disabled account. Can you tell me more about this relation?" from that same page... Good luck!

Our sitemap is not indexed i Google even though it's successfully processed
Hi, Ours is a WP hosted website. We have submitted the XML sitemap with a WP plugin. It's been successfully processed by Google but it's not been indexed in and can't be found in SERP. How to get this indexed? Will there be any low crawling of sitemap as it's not indexed? Thanks

What happens if we remove all the links to internal pages from our homepage?
Hi Moz community, We wanna give a try by removing all the links from homepage to internal pages and keep just a free trial button. Will this impact our SEO anyway? We have nearly 15 important internal pages at 2nd and 3rd hierarchy level. They may drop in rankings but we want to risk for few days to understand how it works. Your opinion please! Thanks

Choosing domain name - ccTLD vs Vanity URL
I have to choose between a country specific domain name that is long and difficult to remember, vs or a .me domain which is short and contains the exact keywords I'm optimising for. The challenge is that I'm only targeting local search traffic for the service I am advertising. Does a country specific domain name have any benefits in terms of weighting when I'm only interested in traffic from that country?

Domain Name History Question
Hi, When launching a new domain, do you think Google holds these back in the rankings for a certain time period? I have noticed with a few, the rankings are held back for a few months (10 page deep results when the site's first indexed and ranked), then almost like a switch rankings start to come through pretty aggressively in some cases. For example: a result could be on page 16 for a month or so, then all of a sudden jump through to page 6 (with no link building or site update), at this point the result would stay steady and would need work to push through. Anyone else get this, or does anyone have any insight about domain history and Google. Cheers

How Can I Prevent Duplicate Page Title Errors?
I am working on a website that has two different sections, one for consumers and one for business. However, the products and the product pages are essentially the same but, of course, the pricing and quantities may be different. We just have different paths based on the kind of customer. And, we get feeds from manufacturers for the content so it's difficult to change it. We want Google to index both sections of the site but we don't want to get hammered for duplicate page titles and content. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Site name appended to page title in google search
Hi there, I have a strange problem concerning how the search results for my site appears in Google. The site is Texaspoker.dk and for some strange reason that name is appended at the end of the page title when I search for it in Google. The site name is not added to the page titles on the site. If I search in Google.dk (the relevant search engine for the country I am targeting) for "Unibet Fast Poker" I get the following page title displayed in the search results: Unibet Fast Poker starter i dag - få €10 og prøv ... - Texaspoker.dk If you visit the actual page you can see that there is no site name added to the page title: http://www.texaspoker.dk/unibet-fast-poker It looks like it is only being appended to the pages that contains rich snippets markup and not he forum threads where the rich snippets for some reason doesn't work. If I do a search for "Afstemning: Foretrukne TOPS Events" the title appears as it should without the site name being added: Afstemning: Foretrukne TOPS Events Anybody have any experience regarding this or an idea to why this is happening? Maybe the rich snippets are automatically pulling the publisher name from my Google+ account... edited: It doesn't seem to have anything to do with rich snippets, if I search for "Billeder og stuff v.2" the site name is also appended and if I search for "bedste poker bonus" the site name is not.

How is important domain age now?
Just as topic states, how important do you think domain age is? Do you think getting old domain for the new website will do any difference? Lets say website A used to sell apples... went out of business after 5 years of business. If I would get that domain and will star selling apples again can I expect some extra boost because of the age? Cheers
