Exclude brand Traffic
-
Hello everyone,
Whenever any user searches for our website using brand keywords, session count should comes under direct source instead of Google/organic.
Or in simple language, We want that all our brand keyword search traffic should be consider as Direct Traffic instead of organic.
Is it possible in Google Analytics? If yes then please share the steps of doing it

Hi Ravi. You should create a segment based on the inclusion of your brand within search to separate the two within organic search reports. Here's the help doc on segment creation in Google Analytics: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/3124493.
I recommend avoiding a process that lumps all branded search into "direct" as a direct visit is not representative of the user's behavior. For example, if you decide to run a search ad campaign around branded search visits, your numbers would be skewed when only considering them as direct. Further, many times the search flow of a user is:
-
Generic search - site visit - site exit.
-
Branded search - site visit - site exit.
-
Direct visit - purchase.
Only considering the final two steps as direct and / or not addressing the initial generic search in the customer conversion life cycle leads to faulty Analytics conclusions. Cheers!

Hi Ravi,
It is not possible in Google analytics . But you can separate brand traffic & Non brand traffic that I presume you are aware of that .
Thanks

Since implementing GDPR, has anyone seen website traffic plummet?
On December 1 and 2, I implemented a cookie banner on 5 of my Wix sites (https://www.sanitationsolutionsinc.com is one example) in order to be in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and LGPD. Since then my traffic according to Wix Analytics and Google Analytics has plummeted. Anyone else have the same issue? How did you fix it?

Spammy traffic
Hi guys! There has been an unusual amount of traffic to one particular page on our blog. Now that the business is slow, I had the time to look into it. Half of that traffic is coming from India and we are a Chicago based limo service. We 'll skip why that happens part for now.

I let Hotjar record 100 session and upon reviewing them I have noticed a lot of sessions with no interaction, no mouse movement, no clicks; just scroll and exit. My question is related to implementing a type of verification (captcha) for that blog page to see if the bots / behavior changes.
Are there any downside in terms of in page SEO for this type of implementation?

Huge Traffic Drop without any change on website
Hello there, I've experienced a huge website traffic drop and I can't find a reason. I redesigned and updated the SEO strategy in early December and the traffic was increasing, that's why I have no idea why that is happening. I have a video on home page and the views/day dropped a lot as well, but not as much as website visits! Any inputs? Best regards, NIB6rwF.png

Is there an automated way to determine which pages of your website are getting 0 traffic?
I'm doing a content audit on my company website and want to identify pages with zero traffic. I can use GA for low traffic, but not zero traffic. I can do this manually, but it would take a long time. Are there any tools to help me determine these pages?

Hey Guys, This might be an over spoken topic but I havent been able to find a proper answer or solution for this issue. So far, the closest solution I came across is this article --> http://moz.com/blog/decoding-googles-referral-string-or-how-i-survived-secure-search I would like to know if there is any other solution for this matter. I have been searching the web for quite while now and I havent found a reasonable solution to segmenting the traffic from google news one box.News onebox traffic is counted as organic/google in GA.Is there a way to measure the traffic coming from the onebox news??Please note that news.google.com is not the same thing.I really appreciate any help.

Number of clicks / organic traffic - different data in Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools
Hi. I have a little problem. When I open Google Webmaster Tools I see 3000 clicks (in Traffic - Search queries - Clicks). But when I open Google Analytics I see much more visits from search engine (Google) - it´s 4-5 times more! It´s a huge difference, don´t you think? Do you know, where is the problem? What causes this diffence? thanks a lot
