Suggestion for improvement
-
I am working on the website and feel like we have a lot more content (original) also all of it is above the fold, however I don't seem to find the website ranked higher compared to other sites with similar keywords.
My URL is: http://www.cypressindustries.com/Any suggestion for improvement or which areas I should be focusing?

I will be blunt. It is a very bland site. It looks like hard work, as soon as see the Home page.I would struggle to make another click.
There is no CTA. So if online sales are the business a big FREE SHIPPING banner etc. some CTA is needed. If you read the below, you would keep looking for products.. somewhere else. (this is the info you have under your product)
"Products are becoming increasingly complex, but as technology accelerates, the marketable window of those products continues to shrink. Producers must respond by minimizing inventory and manufacturing in ways that control costs. Scalability is crucial; companies need to increase or decrease production quickly, while ensuring repeatable builds over time and distance. In a myriad of ways, manufacturing must become more responsive to the marketplace."
Overall the font is too small. The page looks cluttered.
Needs to be made to look simple and easy. Review 4-5 sites you like shopping from - and then start writing down what improvements you would like made to your site.
Hopefully not to overbearing. All the best.

Improvement in Page Speed worth Compromise on HTML Validation?
Our developer has improved page speed, particularly for Mobile. However the price for this improvement has been a HTML validation error that cannot be removed without compromising on the page load speed. Is the improvement in speed worth the living with the validation error? The concern is paying a high SEO price for this "fatal error". Or perhaps this error is in fact not serious? Fatal Error: Cannot recover after last error. Any further errors will be ignored. From line 699, column 9; to line 699, column 319 >↩ ↩ `OUR DEVELOPER'S COMMENT: | This was made following Google page speed insights recommendations. If we remove that, will loose on page load performance | The domain URL is www.nyc-officespace-leader.com`

How long before your rankings improved after Penguin?
Those of you that have algorithmic penalties, how long after making changes did you actually see an improvement, or have you ever? I have several sites that tanked after Penguin 2.1 and after doing Link Removal, Diasvaow files and building newer more quality links and adding content, I am STILL not seeing any change in rankings after several months. I have heard from some people it can take up to 6-months for google to even crawl a disavow file. I have also heard no matter what you do it won't matter until Google does another update. I feel like we have made a lot of changes in the right direction, but I don't want to go overboard if nothing is going to matter until another Google Update is done. What are your experiences?

Our site is about 4 months old now, although the domain is older. We are adding fresh new content, building good facebook/twitter/Goolge+ and undertaking good PR - but our ranking does not seem to be improving at all. Have I missed something obvious???? Thanks.

The use of subdomains to improve SEO?
A clients website which provide a number of trade services which have a page for each service they provide for example: carpentry or electrician or plumbing etc. currently these pages are found at domain.co.uk/bathrooms/ bathrooms.html I am trying to optmise each page better as they are competing with other sites who for example sell bathrooms rather than bathroom installers or plumbers. As part of the on page optimisation I plan to change the page names and directory structure. I had an idea to split the website down into subdomains for various sections i.e for all their services Create a sub domain such as http://plumber.domain.co.uk 2.) upload the relevant content (in this example the plumbing page) to the sub domain location 3.) correct all the links to absolute URLs for each sub domain / Will this help target better use of keywords in the URL in terms of SEO efforts ? hope it makes sense thanks Darren
