Looking for DIY advice
-
Hello, everyone.
I am a stay-at-home mom of two. In 2011 i made a website (veeeeery competitive niche) and started a business. Everything was going great in the beginning. I was learning everything online and it looked like it was enough info at that time. Now i feel like the website has been "stuck" for a very long time. We have a very steady traffic and the website brings quite a bit of income, but i have no idea how to make it any better/improve it. I hired a local SEO company thinking they can make it happen. Very bad experience... (now they are no longer in business).
I would love to do SEO myself. I have time and i love doing it, but i wish someone could just tell me what to do.
Is there anyone willing to take a look and give me an advice? I understand that not everyone would be willing to spend their time on helping me free of charge, but...i'll give it a try.

Hey Heather,
It's good to know that you're very passionate about starting your website again and planning to do SEO yourself.
Before going further, I'd like to tell you SEO is a full time and time taking job. If you're doing it first time, it's better to do it under someone's supervision so that you can learn and implement good strategies.

Hello,
To help you, especially since you said that basics are done and you need more advanced stuff, it would require deeper "learning" of your situation, business, industry and so on. What I would recommend for you is to hire a Internet Marketing consulting firm or SEO Consulting firm. I'd like to emphasize CONSULTING, meaning just for consultation, not for SEO work to be done. It would help you to save money and get a kick in right direction. Just make sure that the company knows what they are doing. How? - entire different question
MOZ have "trusted" comsulting companies here: https://mza.bundledseo.com//article/recommended
P.S. If you are in Texas, even if not, you're welcome to contact us: SEO consulting in Houston

Looking for a good GA plugin for Wordpress blog
We're looking to install a plugin for our Wordpress blog, to be able to receive analytical data right in our wordpress dashboard. Can anyone suggest a good one that is working well for them? We are looking for one that is either free, or fairly inexpensive. Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress appears to be a front-runner for us, has anyone had any experience with this plugin? Thanks so much! Amiee

What is the best tool to look at Internal Links?
My site has on average 220 internal links a page largely due to how the site is built ie every page shows every link via the menu system, which isnt great, but from what i have read there isnt much i can do about it. However, this week 3 pages jumped to over 400 links and the home page over 500 internal links, GWT will only show me 200 of them, Is there a tool that i can use that will list all my internal links, so i can find out why this has happened? Thanks Ash

Figuring Out the Source of "direct traffic" by looking at landing page parameters
I have a client who runs an e-commerce website, and I noticed that 40% of his traffic and 25% of his sales are all attributable to Direct Traffic. At first, I tried to solve this problem by tagging all of the previously untagged links in his e-newsletter, which I expect to be very helpful. However, then I looked at the landing pages for his direct traffic, and I see that it is almost entirely filled with thousands of unique URLs that begin with a question mark followed by the name of his e-newsletter or shopping cart vendor. It would be the equivalent of having a url like the following: "www.willmarlow.com/?constantcontact=keya;sldkfjsdlfkjdf;sldkjf" If we have this amount of information in the link, shouldn't there be a way to add additional parameters to the URL to move this traffic out of the Direct column? Has anyone encountered this before? Thanks.

We lost great amount of Google Traffic. Need Expert Advice, Please!
We are in the business of selling home and commercial light fixtures for about 10 years now. Our website is a very large ecommerce website with more than 40K pages including category, sub-category and product pages. We have been getting decent organic traffic mostly from highly competitive keywords and also from product/solution specific long tail keywords. Recently when Google changed the EMD algo we have seen a dip in the traffic (say about 60%). I can't be so sure that this is because of EMD update, but it started happening only after this update. There has been a rank drop from 1st page to 2nd page, decrease in no. of keywords driving traffic, decrease in no. of pages driving traffic, all these things have an negative impact on our organic revenue. I know that our back link portfolio is bad and the reason behind this is the SEO companies that we previously worked with, Thanks to them for this sloppy work. Other than back links, Is there anything fundamentally wrong on our website. Here is the URL http://bit.ly/QVFHgr
