RE: Custom Report Notices - "To make changes to this report, simply edit your report settings."
-
See below - why is the client offered the (false) ability to change report settings?
- Clients can't login or make changes!
- Why would co-workers need to be mailed reports? - they can just login and see the most recent results
- "To make changes to this report, simply edit your report settings." should simply be completely removed.
To make changes to this report, simply edit your report settings.
Happy optimizing,
Moz

Jeremy - you appear to be "The Man" here. A very good answer to a less than obvious solution.
I assumed that the link was appended to whatever else I wrote - like an email signature.
Now I know, problem solved - Thanks!!

Hi Michael,
Your feedback makes perfect sense; I can understand why you wouldn't want that particular link to show up when third parties view the report email.
Fortunately, that link only appears in the default email text. If you personalize your Custom Report's email message, your custom text will replace everything in the default message except for the essential "download report" link.
Check out these instructions for more information on setting up Custom Reports. At the bottom of that help page is a screenshot of the "Schedule & Share" step, showing where you have the ability to customize the email body message. Enter any text you like in order to replace the default messaging.
Hope this helps!

Exactly!! - this post is supposed to be in the spirit of a feature request.

Now that I have a clearer idea of what it is you were asking about, it sounds like the email in question is one sent directly to a client by Moz, as set by you within your own reporting settings. Sending reports to clients directly is a use-case I don't have, so I can't speak to this - hopefully someone more informed can assist you. Good luck!

-
" if you're running a campaign for a client and they want a change, you could make that change."
-
exactly - they shouldn't have a misleading link saying THEY can make the changes
-
"it's unwise to give multiple people direct access to a login for any analytics platform."
-
exactly- there should be no link telling the client otherwise.
-
"If this was sent to you (presumably the Moz user),..."
-
__exactly-I copy myself on client reports, to verify they go out - otherwise I would not be aware of such verbiage.
-
I already know I can edit the report - I put it together!!
"I think the intention is that you'd download the report and write your own email."
- WHY? We pay a lot for "branding"
- Why should it be designed for manual forwarding when it is clearly designed for the client's eyes only?
- With a number of clients receiving weekly reports - that would be needlessly labor intensive

It's extremely unclear what you're asking about without you giving a little more background. If this is an email you were sent by Moz, then here are answers to each of your 3 points as well as an additional point:
- Correct, clients can't login or make changes - however, whomever is using Moz can. Meaning, if you're running a campaign for a client and they want a change, you could make that change. This is what I'm guessing is the situation, but if you want to provide more information, I could revise my answer accordingly.
- In most business settings (and generally), it's unwise to give multiple people direct access to a login for any analytics platform. For security reasons, as well as protecting data and ensuring it's unaltered, it's best to keep one person to a login. However, if more than one person should want/need to see this data, then sharing these reports is the best solution.
- If this was sent to you (presumably the Moz user), then it makes sense for this to be in an email sent to you.
If I had to guess, you're forwarding this email directly to your client (again, please correct me if that's not the case). This email isn't generated with the expectation that Moz users will outright forward it to their clients; I think the intention is that you'd download the report and write your own email. As such, the intention of this email is disparate from an email you should send to a client.

Are Monthly-Run custom reports supposed to compare against the previous month?
When I run monthly reports, it looks like keywords are down, when they are actually up compared to the previous month. Is there a way to get the monthly reports to show how many positions up or down a keyword is compared to the prior run report?

Migrate campaign from when site changes from http:// to https://
We moved from our site from http:// to https://, redirecting all traffic to the new https connection. However, in our campaign all scores have dropped (only 1 page crawled). Is there something we can do to migratie the data, or update the existing campaign to reflect this minor change to our existing site?

Is there a way to schedule automatic weekly .csv reports for the Tracked Keywords Overview?
Using The Custom Reports tool, I only managed to get PDF reports. It would be useful to automatically receive .csv reports by email. Any idea how?

Use brand name in the graphs instead of 'You' and use consistent colours in reports
Would be great to see the brand name instead of 'You' in the reports, especially in the graphs. Currently, I use Chrome developer tool to edit the source code of the Moz page and change You to the brand name, then take the screenshots. You might be fine for small agencies or personal accounts, but I can't use it it corporate stakeholder reports and presentations, especially when our own brands are compared to each other. Who's You? The campaigns' Links / Competitive metrics graph is using the domain names, but the Search Visibility / Competition graph is using You. It's inconsistent. Also, the Campaign Dashboard search visibility report shows our website with orange, but the Rankings / Search Visibility / Competition graphs shows our brand with green. It's very confusing in reports.

Feature Request: Set campaign date
Hi Moz, My Moz campaigns run from Thursday to Wednesday. That's because the person who set them up did so on Wednesday. Unfortunately, every other reporting tool we use thinks a week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday ... Google Analytics, Webmaster Tools, etc. If I want to report on an actual week in Moz - Sunday through Saturday - I can't. Well, I can, but I have to log in around 12:01 Sunday morning to create my campaigns ... which I did this weekend for our translated sites ... but I did it wrong because I entered the root domain rather than the .com/de directory, for example ... because it was after midnight and I was really sleepy ... so now I have to wait till next Sunday if I want Sunday through Saturday week/week data. So here's my feature request: Whenever we create a campaign, ask us what day we want to count as the first day of the week ... kinda like Wordpress does it. For created campaigns, allow us to change the first day of the week one time only. Not sure about others, but I would be willing to lose a week of data to set the campaign start to Sunday. Thanks. And please don't take the complaining part of this feature request to mean that I don't love you, because I do.

Competitor changed URL. What data do I lose if I update Moz settings?
One of my competitor's has changed their domain URL. I want to update this in the Moz campaign settings but I get a warning that all historical data will be lost if I do. Is that really true? I replaced one of my competitors with another for a week and didn't seem to lose historical data. Incidentally, could this be a feature request to allow more competitors to be tracked? eqEhEHz.jpg

Hi community 🙂 I would like to add page break in custom report. This would allow me to segment section in the PDF document. Also, is there any ways to add some titles with notes ? Just as the same style as the description field ? Thanks for your answers, Cheers 🙂
