Reputable SEO companies
-
I am looking for a reputable SEO company to assist in link building. I have done many searches and find that there are many sites that have a "top 10." However I am finding they are listed there due to paying large amounts of money. Any recommendations on companies that can show real results and are not charging extreme amounts of money while using minimum wage interns to do all the work with crappy results. I had a few people suggest "internet marketing ninjas" if anyone has used, chime in.
Thanks

I should also add that when you look at a company that provides link building services you should have them evaluate your site for content. What I would do is show them a couple so so pages, and a couple real good ones. Allow them to pick which ones they are willing to promote, if they choose the good ones you know you have the right people... my thoughts,
Don

Hi Nicholas,
Moz maintains a list of the top companies they recommend. You know Moz used to be an SEO company all in its own, so those that manage to impress Moz would be well worth a look. Many people who post here, or contribute here are working for or even own some of those companies.
As always ask questions, link building is very merky area if you ask me. You want to find somebody or company that knows your industry and can deliver your content to the right places. That being said, if you're content isn't worth linking to, then no company or person is going to have good long term results.
Link building is an important ranking factor because it is at the core of how Search Engines operate. The more sites linking to a particular page or website the more value it appears to have. With that there are some strong changes to the way search engines treat the value of links, rolled out in the Panda and Penguin updates. Those updates targeted low quality links and sites themselves to eliminate the abuses link builders were using to manipulate sites to the top. And if you think about it that is the way it should be.
Link building is suppose to or should be occurring naturally, when webmaster A really likes what webmaster B has done they should be linking to them. This provides a benefit for both A and B's users. What has happened over the years is people abused the hell out of this mechanic and really pushed some crappy sites into the top rankings. Along with social media sharing the natural way for sites linking to each other has only been complicated. Still the value of link building is still there although much much harder to accomplish. In part because good sites don't want to risk getting penalties by linking to "less popular" sites. This only means if you really want to get those great links, you have to impress the existing sites who may provide them.
Hope this helps,
Don

Does ID's in URL is good for SEO? Will SEO Submissions sites allow such urls submissions?
Example url: http://public.beta.travelyaari.com/vrl-travels-13555-online It's our sites beta URL, We are going to implement it for our site. After implementation, it will be live on travelyaari.com like this - "https://www.travelyaari.com/vrl-travels-13555-online". We have added the keywords etc in the URL "VRL Travels". But the problems is, there are multiple VRL travels available, so we made it unique with a unique id in URL - "13555". So that we can exactly get to know which VRL Travels and it is also a solution for url duplication. Also from users / SEO point of view, the url has readable texts/keywords - "vrl travels online". Can some Moz experts suggest me whether it will affect SEO performance in any manner? SEO Submissions sites will accept this URL? Meanwhile, I had tried submitting this URL to Reddit etc. It got accepted.

Redirecting an image url to a more SEO friendly image url
We are currently trying to find the best way of making the images on one of our sites more SEO friendly, the easiest way for us would be to redirect the image URL to a more SEO friendly image URL. For example: http://www.website.com/default/cache/file/F8325DA-0A9A-437F-B5D0A4255A066261_medium.jpg redirects to http://www.website.com/default/cache/file/spiral-staircase.jpg Would Google frown upon this as it's saying the image is one thing and then points the user somewhere else?

Could this be negative SEO?
Hi, I've attached a copy of our Google ranking for one of our keywords for our site and a competitor. Also shown is the number of external links over time for the same 2 sites. There seems to be a striking resemblance between the 2 sites so could this be the result of negative SEO? What's the best way to determine whether you've been targeted for negative SEO? Thanks, site-analysis.jpg

How to run SEO tests you don't want to be associated with
A client has a competitor who is ranking above them for a highly competitive term they shouldn't really be able to rank for. I think I know how the site got there, and I think I can replicate it myself with a quick test, but it's definitely grey hat if not black hat to do so. I do not want my own sites and company to be damamged by the test, but i'd like to let the client know for sure, and also i'd love to know myself. The test should take about a week to run, there is no hacking involved or password stealing or anything damaging to another. How would you do such a test? I'm dubious about using my own server / site for it, but would a week really matter? Tom

Seo style="display: none;" ?
i want to have a funktion which shortens text in categorie view in my shop. apple is doing this in their product configurator see the "learn more" button at the right side: http://store.apple.com/us/configure/MC915LL/A apple is doing this by adding dynamic content but i want it more seo type by leaving the content indexable by google. i know from a search that this was used in the past years by black had seos to cover keywordstuffing. i also read an article at google. i beleive that this is years ago and keywordstuffing is completly no option anymore. so i beleive that google just would recognise it like the way its meant to be. but if i would not be sure i would not ask here 🙂 what do you think?
