My page ranking dropped after I made it responsive
-
Recently, I made one of my site page responsive. It was ranking on 13th Position and after I made the page responsive, it dropped to 24 desktop and 35 on mobile rankings.
I ran mobile friendly test and it said "awesome, your page is mobile friendly". Not sure, what went wrong here.
Page in question is: https://www.itcontractorsuk.com/
Can someone please advice?
Please Note: My site is partially responsive.

Hi there.
My thought is that it was just a coincidence. Usually, responsiveness doesn't affect rankings that dramatically, especially on desktop devices. There are many-many far more important ranking signals than being mobile-friendly.
Make sure that your website is properly optimized, you got good backlink profile etc. Also I suggest to look at your competitors. If they have improved, or there were new companies, which are better optimized than yours, and, at the same time your website is underoptimized - your rankings will go down.
Hope this helps.

Upgarded woocommerce 2 to 3 and saw a large drop in rank
Hi guys, I recently upgraded from woocommerce 2 to v3 and rankings have been plummeting. I have double checked all of the schema, markup, technical, speed, etc and it all seems to be the same. The on thing that I did find is that while there used to be about 400 images (products) there are now over 1500 images in the index as all of the thumbnails are not in the sitemap. Would / could this cause the issue? Can i remove all the thumbs from the sitemap? if so any suggestions on how (google returns very little to nothing regarding this). Should i alt text every thumbnail..... Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Silo not ranking for main silo page - what can I do?
Hi everyone, I set up a silo for my page http://werkzeug-kasten.com/ . Unfortunately only the silos inner pages rank very good. These are for example http://werkzeug-kasten.com/suchmaschinenoptimierung-seo-freiburg/keyword-analyse/ for "Keywordanalyse SEO Freiburg" http://werkzeug-kasten.com/suchmaschinenoptimierung-seo-freiburg/onpage-seo/ for "Onpage SEO Freiburg" ... but the silos main page http://werkzeug-kasten.com/suchmaschinenoptimierung-seo-freiburg/ does not rank for "SEO Freiburg". Do you have any idea why that might be? Cheers, Marc

Tidied up site by getting rid of bad pages and now rankings tanked. - Please help
Hello Mozzers. We historically had Location specific landing pages on our eCommerce site. examples - site.co.ukj/cleaning-enquipment-london site.co.ukj/cleaning-enquipment-Manchester These all had unique content(600 words approx) and ranked in top 10 for many cities. I understand these would have been classed as doorway pages so we got rid of them (301'd back to the category pages) and now our rankings for these terms have tanked. We also have specific branch pages but we have kept these like many other companies with multiple branches do. It feels like by doing a good thing and tidying up everything , we are actually making our site worse. Everything else seems to be in place. Loads of new regular content , clean profile , mobile friendly, lots of citations etc etc. Any idea what could be going on here. Here's a link in our site - http://goo.gl/0yjSd8 thanks Pete

Confused with rankings for keywords that are not on the actual page?
Hey Guys, So I went to search a keyword, my competitor came up, when I looked for that keyword on their page i didn't see it at all, and the page is content thin, how is it they are ranking for the keyword at all? Bit confused at how this works. So having the keyword in your content is not necessary a ranking factor? Please advise and sorry if this question is really amateur, I'm sure based on this search there is more to it then that.... could you other ranking factors as to why they rank for a keyword that is not in their content? Does the whole exact keyword have to be in the content to rank? Thanks all

How to associate content on one page to another page
Hi all, I would like associate content on "Page A" with "Page B". The content is not the same, but we want to tell Google it should be associated. Is there an easy way to do this?

Custom Error and page not found responses
When there is a 500 Internal Server Error, is it better to return an HTTP 500 response and custom error page from the requested URL, or is it better to return a 302 redirect? The redirect would send the browser to the custom error page, which would return the HTTP 500 result. We tell Google not to index or follow our error pages, so if Google sees an error at a URL, we don't necessarily want Google to think that the URL should be ignored. That's why the alternative would be to redirect to a custom error page with it's own URL. Similarly, what's the best approach if the response is a 404? Return HTTP 404 and custom 404 page from the requested URL, or redirect? Thanks.
