Yelp SEO in action

Please help me figure out how come E Appliance Repair Yelp page pops out every time I search Google for next keywords: Dacor repair Los Angeles, Miele repair Los Angeles, Sub Zero repair Los Angeles, and others like those? What direction do I need to move in to get close to those results? Any advise will be highly appreciated!

Like others on this thread, I'm not seeing the same results you are for those search terms. Yelp is one of the top ranking directories for many brand and service searches, so having it rank highly is not unusual. It's possible for a Yelp result to outrank a website if the website isn't very strong. As for how to build up your own rankings, please check out our Local SEO checklist. Everything on that list will help you compete and, hopefully, begin to surpass weaker competitors. You'll want to audit both your own business and that of any competitors for a complete picture. I guess, geolocation plays a role? I am in the part of Los Angeles where they operate. So, they probably optimized their content this way somehow? I still can not understand why is that their Yelp page that shows up while entering the query, not the website?

Interestingly, I'm not seeing E Appliance Repair's Yelp listing in the results for any of those keywords.
Is it possible you're seeing personalized results? Have you tried searching in an incognito window? -
I think this company's Yelp page shows rating review stars in the organic search because it has really many positive reviews. Looks like they used black hat Yelp optimization though Yelp claims there is no way to do so. What I cannot understand is why E Appliance Repair Yelp page shows up every time I enter mentioned queries... I have another company that implemented successful SEO, http://www.ez-appliancerepair.com. They rank really high for the same keywords, but this is their website that has been heavily optimized. My website is http://www.ifixappliancesla.com, it doesn't perform well at the moment.

Had a local SEO client completely drop off in all rankings...?
Hey everyone! I wanted to ask the Moz community on what I should be on the lookout for in this situation; I have a local SEO client, an orthopedic clinic, who out of nowhere completely dropped off the map. Their Search Visibility is now at .001%. I really have no idea what would have caused this... I have dozens of other local SEO clients and have never seen this before.

Accurate Rank Checking for Local SEO
Hi all, I am wondering if anyone out there has cracked the enigma of figuring out how to accurately find local rankings for multi-location businesses. I do understand that "accuracy" should be used loosely given the numerous factors that come into play for local such as distance from searcher and business location being located directly in the city of the search. So I definitely get that nothing will be entirely accurate but the programs I have used and the incognito browser approach just seems so far off. Moz tells me something different than the Google Adword Preview Tool which is different than SEMRush which is different than serps.com and so on. I have done the appending to search strings with near=city as well. I unfortunately do not trust any of them at this point. I would LOVE if my company flew me out to every single city we are in so I could do local searches but that is probably not going to happen 🙂 Any thoughts or recommendations for how I can get the most accurate local rank, even if it is an incredibly manual process? Is there an easy way for me to change my location anymore since Google stripped that option away awhile back? That was the ONLY time I felt I was getting somewhat accurate results. Thanks! -Ben

Local SEO business name issue due to aggregator
So I work for a college and we have multiple locations. My tactic has been always to keep the name the same for all of them (no city name), and then change the address and phone number for each. But there is 1000s of college listings websites out there that aggregate college and school data from the same source: the US government. Now the way that they have most, if not all, multi-location colleges listed is: "college name-city name". I can see the value in that, but I guess I'm just wondering what to do since it obviously can't be changed. Should I revert all of our listings as "college name-city name" to match the 1000s of listings that have it that way? I've been under the impression that I should leave the city/town name out of the name, but I'm just wondering what you think best practices would be? Thanks

Local SEO: Special charakters in brand name?
Hey guys, we run a local gym in Germany located in Nuremberg called: "STUDIO N°1 - natürlich fit". Our domain is: www.studio-no1.de We are currently working on a new website since our current Website isn't really SEO optimized. Until then I would like to start optimizing some off-page attributes. As far as I know one of the main points in Local SEO is that your firm is registered at important directories. In our case we are already registred in most of the important german directories. The problem is that our oficicial company name has a special charakter included. This means that in some cases we have "N°1" and in some others "No1! Our Google Business name for example has "N°1", facbook not (no special charakter allowed). Germanys most important site for listings: Gelbeseiten, doesn't even allow special charakters in brand names.... On which name should I focus to get all the business listings to have identical NAP informations? Does it even matter? Schould I focus on "STUDIO No1 - natürlich fit" or "STUDIO N°1 - natürlich fit"? Concerned about cannibalization for local SEO results. Should we move some of our location pages to a subdomain?
Currently we are providing local SEO recommendations for a well known pharmacy chain. Like most major brands they enjoy multiple organic (not just 3 pack results) listings when people search for local phrases such as "Dallas pharmacy clinics'". The issue is that all these listings are coming from the same domain page. We are seeing multiple listings both branded and non-branded search queries. Our concern is that Google will someday decide to choose one listing as the most authoritative and nix the rest of the local listings which will reduce their first page search engine saturation. To maintain first page saturation we are considering recommending to the client that they move some of their location listings

to a subdomain (different IP address) to avoid a Google "clean up". Please note that our client is certainly not using any "doorway" pages but some of these are very scarce on content. I am sorry if this is the incorrect place for this but I have searched all over trying to find a reputable firm or person to create or modify my current webpage and rank it better for my keywords.
