Back lining for my competition on face book but through blog
-
Hi all, Just a quick question .. I currently have a competition running on Facebook for fan page likes likes but I also have a post on my blog also talking about the competition which links to Facebook and my main e commerce site. since the competition is doing relatively well i would like to draw more attention to it but via my blog rather than linking to Facebook ... how would you go about it? Many thanks

The one thing I would check with is making sure that your contest follows the rules of FB for a contest. The last thing you want to do is bring more attention to it and then discover that it's against FB's rules.

I am not sure you will get much out of this but you could always just send people to the post on the main site which then sends them to the Facebook page? Likewise, you could just link from the blog to the Facebook page and the main site.
There is not a great deal to gain here I don't think though so I would not lose a great deal of sleep over this one.
Cheers
Marcus

Hi Marcus Well I want both I'm greedy like that but I don't want to keep linking directly to Facebook but rather link to my website which then links to Facebook. So I want to continue to promote the competition but direct the entrants to my web site which then links to Facebook. Hope that make sense

Hey Gareth
Not 100% sure I understand the question.
You are looking to build more likes for your Facebook page
You want to stop linking out to facebook?
I am a simple man, so easily confused! Can you give us a few more details?
Cheers
Marcus

Internal link from blog content to commercial pages risks?
Hi guys, Has anyone seen cases where a site has been impacted negatively from internal linking from blog content to commercial based pages (e.g. category pages). Anchor text is natural and the links improve user experience (i.e it makes sense to add them, they're not forced). Cheers.

WordPress posts Title field inserts title into blog posts like a headline but doesn't ad H1 tag how to change?
I have a Wordpress website which is just using the Default theme, when I post in the blog, whatever I put in the "Title" field at the top of the editor is automatically is placed within the body of the blog post, like a headline, but it doesn't include any H1 tags that I can see. If I add my own headline within in the blog editor, it still inserts the Title like a headline. I am using the Yoast SEO Plugin and also write the meta title there, should I just leave the Wordpress title field blank so it doesn't insert into the blog post? Or is that inserted Title being recognized as an H1 even though I don't see h1 tags anywhere? Hope this isn't too confusing.

Guest blogging??
Hi all! I heard that Google comes down on guest blogging. I did a search here on Moz with the terms "Guest Blogging" and not much comes up, as it relates to my question. So I'm asking: I have a website with specific content where I can implement a "team blog" (stackideas - easyblog), and have industry professionals submit a blog article (once a month on their respective industry focus), and add Google Authorship (link to/from their Google+ profile contributors section), but not allow ANY follow links back to their site. There will be about 10 different blog categories, and there will potentially be several different authors in each category who will be writing specific focused content per category. Any potential Panda (or any other animal 😉 problems with that? Thanks all! BB

Do we need to remove Google Authorship from the blog?
http://www.virante.org/blog/2013/12/19/authorshippocalypse-google-authorship-penguin-finally-appeared/ Search Engine Land reported that Google confirms that Authorship results in search are being intentionally reduced. It appears that the Matt Cutts-promised reductions to the amount of Google Authorship results being shown in Google Search has begun. Do we need to remove a Google Authorship tag from the blog? Because it hurts the ranking?

Rel Next and Previous on Listing Pages of Blog
Hi, Need to know does rel next and previous is more appropriate for content based articles and not blog listings.. Like an article spread across 3 pages - there it makes sense for rel next and previous as the content of the article is in series However, for blog listing page, for pages 1, 2, 3, 4 where every page is unique as the blog has all independent listings or separate articles - does rel next and previous wont of much help Our blog - http://www.mycarhelpline.com/index.php?option=com_easyblog&view=latest&Itemid=91 This is what been said by the developer "The whole idea of adding the "next" and "previous" tag in the header is only when your single blog post has permalinks like: site.com/blog/entry/blog-post.html

site.com/blog/entry/blog-post.html?page=1
site.com/blog/entry/blog-post.html?page=2 " The link in the head is only applicable when your content is separated into multiple pages and it doesn't actually apply on listings. If you have a single blog post that is broken down to multiple pages, this is applicable and it works similarly like rel="canonical" Can we safely ignore rel next and previous tag for this blog pagination for the listing pages !!0 -
Client hell bent on grabbing a competitive .net domain
Hi all, Firstly, i'm a content guy! Thrown into SEO at the deep end, but absolutley loving it and the community. I need some advice, so i'm popping my cherry with this one: I have a client who is in the service industry, very competitive and in a City, so it's all local. He has branded site that has had little investment in SEO and a huge PPC spend over the years. After a lot of nagging they are getting the message that PPC is a massive money tap and as soon as it's turned off that's it - gone! They have had conversations and hit me up with this as their want. Example: They see www.londoncakebakers.com / .co.uk which is a site belonging to Smiths Cakes. They have spotted that www.londoncakebakers.net is free to purchase! You know what's coming right? They want to buy it, get me to design a site for it and deploy SEO on it in a big way! The key phrases are all in the domain name and all the obvious benefits. Am I over thinking this and should embrace it, or should I advise, no, no, no? Thanks in advance. Mark

Another Guest Blogging Question!
If you had 1 blog with good mozbar stats but hosted in the US and another with lets say 75% of the mozbar stats of the first but hosted in the UK, and your website is hosted in the UK which one would benefit SEO the most?
