Inbound link with low DA
-
There is a site linking to me from ukraine (don't know the site) ... and they have a low DA of **52. **
**Is this something I need to be thinking of removing? Thanks:) **
**( I have a low DA myself, but rank well for my keywords) **

Thank you all for your answer's. I agree, 52 is not low. I'll be leaving the link as is.

I'll echo EGOL's response, just because a link is coming from a specific place doesn't make it inherently bad. Relevance and context is certainly more in line with what you want to look for when judging value of a link.
Hope that helps!

I have to agree, MissThumann, that 52 is not a very low DA. Have you checked the Spam Score for that link?
-
There are lots of good sites in Ukraine. I'd make my decision about the quality of the site rather than where it appears to be located.
There are probably more spammy sites out of New Jersey than out of Ukraine.

Thanks for the question.
First, a "low DA" site score is usually not a 52. Moz Domain Authority is calculated "logarithmically" which means that it is MUCH easier to move from a 30-40 DA than it is to move to 50-60 as an example. Further, the "average" DA of a site online is much, much lower than 52. Can you tell me where or why you would think a 52 would be a low score?
As for your question, if you don't like a link then you can just "disavow" that link. Here's a link to the Google Disavow Tool. Just pop the domain into a .txt file, submit it to this tool and you're all set. If you aren't familiar with how to format a disavow file make sure to review the Moz Start to Finish Guide to Using the Disavow Tool for full information.
Hope that's helpful. Good luck!

Is listing our media mentions in our News section canceling inbound link benefit?
Long-time Moz user, first question ever! When our company is mentioned in the news, we add a blurb to our In the News section on our site. If we link to the article, is that 2-way link canceling out the benefit of the inbound link from the publication? It's a two-way link, but we aren't trading links with SEO intent or doing anything malicious. Thanks, Sean

About Link Earning?
I own an e-commerce store and I am get started with my SEO strategy. I know content is extremely important when it comes to link building, however for an e-commerce store what can I do as far as content. So far my only idea is blog posts. It's a furniture store so videos are really hard to do. The blog posts relate to home decor and interior design. My question is if people are going to be linking to my blog, will this help my website rank for product terms? The blog is part of the website, websitename.com/blog.

Poor Blog and Website DA and links
Hi There We have a mature website and a mature blog with over 500 genuine blogs written on it over 4 years. In terms of actual "people" value it has to be high. We used to get 1000 visitors per day, we now get 300. We still have 850 subscribers so its of a certain size. However we have been hit by the Penguin/Panda updates and our DA has dropped to what everyone is telling us is too low for a site like this and we still have a google backlink problem, unyet we only have 190 external links that we think are all OK now. The problem we have is that we seem to have too many links from the blog to the main website with the same anchor text. This has occurred with a blogroll style link to the home page which appears on every post/page of the blog, also I think we have too many anchor same anchor text links to product pages (Motorola ES400) and category pages (Tablet PC). We're going through changing these now so that we have the right mix but the specific questions I wanted to ask were: 1. Will loads of links with the same anchor text affect us if the blog is counted as internal links. Its on the same "blog" sub-domain as the main website. 2. Will this affect the DA of both sites? 3. Is Wordpress capable of damaging us with all the extra pages it creates automatically. We've done nothing but genuine content posting here and i'm sure we can get it back but it kind of really demotivates you when 2/3rds of your traffic goes overnight. Many thanks for any help.
