Yes Google can break a domain name down into separate words, in cases where the domain name can be interpreted in a number of different ways Google looks for other clues as to how the name should be interpreted. E.g. Website content, the anchor text of inbound links etc.
If it were my domain I’d build some links with anchor text targeted at the phrase I was going for.
Also exact match domain names are less powerful than they were a few years ago so link building is still key here.

Why are there less backlink domains in Moz vs. Semrush?
For our domain studyville.com, Semrush is reporting 46 linking domains, and Moz is reporting 7. Does anyone know where there is such a large discrepancy?

Is there any data available on how deeplinking contribute to improve domain authority?
Let's say you are collecting backlinks across a variety of pages for foo.com, like: foo.com/clown, foo.com/juggler, foo.com/lion-tamer and so on... Page Authority will benefit for each of those pages, but what is going to happen to Domain Authority? Is there any data available? Any educated guess in what's the best strategy to try to get best results for both PA and DA?

How do Domain Authority and the Price of a Paid Listing Relate?
I'm just starting to do some in-house link building for the first time. Having looked at some of our competitors it seems that they have paid for links on some B2B sites and I was wondering how the Domain authority and the price charged were related. The follow up question is then how do you estimate the ROI of a link? So for example looking at a site with a DA of 30 and a page authority of 17 how much should one pay for the link? How do you decide how much you should pay for a link - and whether it is value for money? btw I'm not interested in buying links I'm curious 🙂 Thanks for any thoughts

When buying used domains, how do i see the links pointing to that domain? OSE not showing links
when buying used domains, how do i see the links pointing to that domain? Sometimes the open site explorer doesn't show any links to the domain, especially if the domain is parked. Obviously a domain for sale with 1000 domains linking to it has lots of SEO Value right? Thanks mozzers!

Multiple on-page links to single domain
Hi, the main focus of my question is to add a bit more information to my client as to where they are going wrong. Firstly they have a directory on a third party domain with subdirectories containing all their product listings. All the links need to be no-follow for sure. However, from a link juice passing perspective if there are per page say 20-30 links to varying URLs on the same domain is it still the same sort of calculation that the link juice is sufficiently weakened that each link has little value, or because the links are to the same domain there is an extra (potential) filter going on?

Link from or 301 Domains?
I have 3 domains that are in the same niche as my main site and not connected in any way. Now my question is should I just link to my main site from each of them on a page that is relevant to my main Keywords or should I 301 them to the site? I am thinking that building a link to my main site would have more effect than 301's. Thanks in advance!

Too many external links vs linking root domains - good or bad?
Hi guys, After the latest Linkscape update, we noticed that our website have 424,671 external links with 4,395 linking root domains, so roughly 100 links/domain. Does Google consider this to be a negative thing or we do not need to worry about it. Many thanks. David

How Many Domain 301s Can You Have?
A client owns around 10 different domains, each a slightly different version of their company name. The main site is itself a new domain, therefore they'd like to know what the implications of redirecting the 10 other domains to the main one would be. Any thoughts? I have never done this before, so interested to know whether a) there's any benefit and b) if there is a penalty for implementing too many domain 301s. Thanks.
