Another anchor text question
-
Hi,
We are updating a site and creating new separate pages for each coworker (app. 50 coworkers). Each page will include picture, short description, cv and also a subtitle/"keyword list" called: "areas of expertise".
Each keyword (area of expertise) has it´s own in depth page on the subject, would it be wise to anchor text -link these? or is this something that is likely to be picked up by google as spam?
Thanks!

Thank you!
Yes, that´s how I like to see it too.I was just a little worried that the high increase of "exact anchor links" could disturb google

I agree with Sean. I would link those internal service/specialty pages for your employees. The internal linking will allow users to navigate to the page informing them about the service, it'd also help with the hierarchy of your website, and will help with your page authority. However, if you're mentioning the service or specialty numerous times in a paragraph, I probably wouldn't link all of those mentions.

Hey Anders,
I always ask myself the question "Is this link useful for users?".
If someone will be reading those pages and will come across the areas of expertise - they will likely want to find out more about them, especially if they're unsure of what they are.
My vote is to add the links in - it creates an association between these pages and benefits users looking to find out more about the services the staff specialise in.
Cheers,
Sean

Scrolling Javascript News Ticker messing up Anchor Text.
I have a javascript scrolling news ticker on my site but it seems to play havoc with my anchor text. I like it because it scrolls through showing a new set of pages. I set it to the ones I've just uploaded and it seems to help them get followed and indexed. However when I use site explorer I can see the recorded anchor text for a link to a page is incorrect and it's taking the text from the news ticker. Even when a link has come from the news ticker url it seems to take anchor text from the ticker order list before or after. It's as if it records the anchor text and then when it follows the link to the page the ticker has changed to a new link Is this ticker bad for seo? it certainly jumbles up my anchor text, could that be a good thing? Is there an SEO friendly news ticker for newly added products?

Meta Description Question
Hi, Lets say you have a 1000 pages, is it ok to generate a template meta description and flip the keywords depending on the page? For example: Red Shoes page: Buy Red Shoes at amazing prices. We have a large range of Red Shoe sizes available. Blue Shoes page: Buy Blue Shoes at amazing prices. We have a large range of Blue Shoe sizes available. Thoughts?

Scripts question
My question is whether search engines will crawl the page before or after scripts run on the page. I have a H1 that will be replaced with a canvas by jquery script. Will search engines see the H1 or the canvas?

Okay to have text in javascript?
There are so many conflicting opinions out there, one of which I recently read indicated that if you are putting your keywords in javascript, the new google update would have an issue with this. If you want to keep a page clean looking and have visitors click to read more text, is the opinion here that this is okay or an issue? The main purpose of adding text in javascript would be to have enough content on the page without making it look cluttered. Webmaster tools says that when you have hidden text in javascript, the same content should be placed in a no script tag? Thanks.

Should I use bold for the first few sentences of a text?
I would like to know if anyone knew if the relevance of a page changes if I bold the first few sentences. Our journalist wants to bold the first few sentences in every article to make it easier to read, how does that affect SEO?

Is this new? Anchors showing in Serps.
I was checking out a keyword today and I noticed several listings on Google that had a line underneath that said, "Jump to keyword". The "keyword" was an href name anchor on the page. Is this new? Should we be including more anchors on our pages now? It makes sense as it helps the reader to navigate the page. Here is a photo of an example: 7XwaQ

Image alt attribute vs. plain text in link?
I'm building a product category browsing page for a high-falutin' jewelry retailer where we display only product photos linking to individual product pages, without any text in the links. From an SEO and link-juice-passing perspective, is it most effective to embed the product titles as the alt attribute in each image, or to leave alt="" and use text substitutions (i.e. an inner which is css'd to display: none) within the <a>to help search engines accept my product titles as the link text with the most credibility?</a>
