Weird URL Structure in GA
-
Hey everyone,
Thanks in advance for any insight on this. I've been researching it quite a bit on Google and haven't found anything yet.
In Analytics, under our pages report, we're getting a lot of pages that look like this:
www.execucar.com/https://www.execucar.com
or
www.execucar.com/https://www.execucar.com/locations/orlando-car-service
Any thoughts on how to fix this? These pages don't exist...I'm at such a loss.
-
Every URL is duplicating with the domain appended to the beginning, and I'm getting two data sets for each one.
For example, www.execucar.com/https://www.execucar.com/
Pageviews: 667
Average time on page: 3:35but
www.execucar.com/Pageviews: 724Average time on page: 0:06ETA: And, now that I'm looking at it, that pattern is the same across the board. The pages with the domain appended to the beginning of the URL all have a higher time. Is the tracking screwy from the www to the https???
-
Hmm...
When you look at your page report, does every URL have the domain appended to the beginning, or just some?
-
No default page has been set in any of the views. Does it have anything to do with the default URL?
-
Hi,
In your View Settings in GA, look for the Default Page field, then clear it out. It looks to me like you've got "www.execucar.com" set in the Default Page setting in the View Settings of Google Analytics, which, combined with your hostname filter, is causing the duplication of your domain in reporting.

The avg time on page of visitors from selected countries is less than 1 second and the bounce rate is zero!! How is this possible? This is happening from past one month and it would be really helpful if you guys could tell me what exactly is happening?? Ive attached a screenshot for better understanding. website url : https://www.specbee.com/ fIAXXgF 3zQuBAN

"index.htm" for all url's in google analytics
I don't have this issue with other wordpress websites, only this one website, and I don't know what's causing the issue: Google Analytics is adding an "index.htm" to every single page on the website. So it is tracking the pages, I see no errors - is it tracking the right page? When I click on the page link in a report, I naturally go to a "404 page not found" since the website address isn't "www.example.com/rewards/index.htm" - but instead the actual address would be:

"www.example.com/rewards/". I have navigated to View Settings in GA to insure "default page" is empty. Although adding anything else to this field does not effect the page url in analytics reports either. Could it be htaccess file - or a plugin effecting the htaccess file?_Cindy0 -
Google is not indexing all URLs
My website have company and events profile from 200 countries. So it does have lots of URL. Earlier in August 2014, Google used to crawl 90% of URLs we submit. Thing goes wrong when we shifted from http to https. We lost traffic. But we are gaining it slowly. Main concern is that, It still does not indexed all submitted URLs. It have crawled merely 8% of all URLs submitted. site address is businessvibes.com Any help would be appreciated.

Google SERP showing a URL with UTM_source attached - why? Can I stop it?
I just found a Google search results page showing a URL with a UTM source tag attached. Any idea how or why this has happened? How can I stop it as I'm guessing this is overwriting my organic visits with referrals from this site. See attached photo for pic of SERP page. The link is going here: http://employment.govt.nz/er/holidaysandleave/parentalleave/?utm_source=newzealandnow.govt.nz 5vxTDTi.png

GA Goal Tracking for Proactive Chat
Hi all, Just wondering whether anyone knows how I'd be able to track Proactive Chats as a goal in Google Analytics? So when someone visits our site, and we proactively contact them by initiating a chat (rather than a reactive chat where the visitor initiates it). Thanks!

GA: How can non related kws show up in the organic report?
Hi mozzers, I have a site A: www.example.com (with its own branded kws) SiteB: subdomain.example.com Site A and B are related and belong to the same company. Site B was released a couple months ago. ISSUE: I have noticed branded kws from Site A showing up on Site B's GA which doesn't make any sense. I try to make searches in the SE with those kws and not a single search showed the Site B(subdomain). What is weird is that 2 months ago had a an issue with bounce rate on site B showing a 0% bounce rate, then I discovered that we had 2 GATC on site, removed the extra code and bounce was back to normal. Since then I have seen a rise of branded kws from Site A to Site B. Can someone help me here figuring out what is wrong? Thanks

My first campaign identidied long URLs
Hello! 🙂 I've just created my first campaign, and the crawling proccess have detected posts with long URL (more than 70 characters). If I change it, i.e., alter the URL's, can some problem happens to my blog? Or do I have to disconsider this problem and just "work correctly" from now on? Thanks in advance for your help!

URL-structure change - former long-tail traffic gone
Hey people, I'm sure many of you applied changes to the URL structure of a client's or your own website before. So did I for obvious reason: The structure before was like www.domain.com/brand_page/_22-key-word-translatedkeyword.php (ranked 20). This was changed to www.domain.com/key-word.html.

Edit: Also on-page it was optimized, but only taking out worthless links like "keyword-link to other page" and adding a relevant SEO text (also valuable for the user) Now, for the targeted short-tail keyword, the outcome was great - ranking increased by 17 landing the page on the first SERP. But: Before this page garnered a wide range of long-tail keyword traffic. To be exact: 2600 different keywords generated traffic for that page in a period of 1 month. Now the newly structured site (also on-page optimized) only receives traffic from around 100 keywords. You can imagine that the absolute amount of visits also dropped. So I'd like to know if you observed similar results. Another question that's coming up in this context: How regularly does Google refresh the keywords associated with a page? Like: Is this page really relevant for this one keyword we associated it with 5 years ago? Because it is clear, when I'm looking at the aforementioned 2600 KW in detail, most don't have anything to do with the site, i.e. are not mentioned at all. Still they generated valuable traffic though. All of this is really crucial to this project, because soon the whole website's supposed to be relaunched with optimized URL structure and of course everything else that's need SEO wise... I'd love to hear your experiences. Thanks!!0
