404 error for unknown URL that Moz is finding in our blog
-
I'm receiving 404 errors on my site crawl for messinastaffing.com. They seem to be generating only from our blog posts which sit on Hubspot. I've searched high and low and can't identify why our site URL is being added at the end - I've tried every link in our blog and cannot repeat the error the crawl is finding. For instance:
Referer is: http://blog.messinastaffing.com/take-charge-career-story-compelling-cover-letter/
404 error is: http://blog.messinastaffing.com/take-charge-career-story-compelling-cover-letter/www.messinastaffing.com
I agree that the 404 error URL doesn't exist but I can't identify where Moz is finding it. I have approximately 75 of these errors - one for every blog on our site.

Agree with Martijn - this is almost always caused by a link not properly including the http(s):// at the beginning..
Since it's occurring an all blog posts, it's likely a link in the navigation/sidebar/footer or other templated area of the pages.
You'll need to look in the pages' source code to find it.
[UPDATE] Yup, it's an incorrectly formatted link on line 100 of the page - part of your header menu.

You can see the href is missing the _http.

Hi Beth,
Did you check all the URLs that might be relative as well? It feels like one of your outgoing links might be missing the http:// part which makes crawlers think that the URL is relative.
Martijn.

Is the Moz Ranking Report correct?
Hello here, today I got my weekly report from Moz by email and it reported a strong decline of rankings on some of our major keywords. Then I went to check on Google personally, and instead I found my pages ranked much higher than reported by Moz (please note that my results wasn't personalized...). I also use a desktop program to check my rankings, and what I found personally on Google corresponded to what my desktop program reported me. Here is an example: my website is virtualsheetmusic.com, and Moz reported a rank NOT in top 50 for the following keyword: "moonlight sonata sheet music" Whereas we are actually on the 19th spot. Another example for the keyword "czardas violin sheet music", Moz reports NOT in top 50, whereas we are actually at the 5th spot on the first page of Google results! Why's this? Anyone can explain? Is there anything wrong with Moz ranking report?

Moz vs google data conflict?
Hi there, I am doing an SEO site audit for a client(giveaway, and here is the problem: when performing site:domain.com on google --> 13,800 pages were found When I see this number it seems to be a bit too much compare to the links i checked on integrity(link check for broken links) which gave me a result of 1291. I digged in more into the Google results and saw hundreds(maybe thousands) of pages that are blocked by robots.txt. So I am thinking, ok this is it, thousands of pages can't be crawled by the search engines. Here is the big BUT though, then I check at my moz crawl (see attachment) and no pages are blocked by the SEs, and then look at the dups, only 23 recorded?? Is Moz not crawling properly the 13,800 results that google finds or is this some magical phenomenon happening here? I am really confused here that is why I need some help here! Thank you guys! I've got quite a few "Duplicate Page Title" Errors in my Crawl Diagnostics for my Wordpress Blog
Title says it all, is this an issue? The pages seem to be set up properly with Rel=Canonical so should i just ignore the duplicate page title erros in my Crawl Diagnostics dashboard? Thanks

Finding page authority for a list of sites
I went to Distilled's linklove conference earlier this week. Many of the presenters showed spreadsheets where they had pulled in Page Authority for a long list of sites. What tool can you use to quickly do this? For instance, I want to be able to copy a list of 100 sites into a tool and have it spit out the PA for every site...anybody know how to do this?

Exporting ranking stats; errors
previously, when I went to export the weekly rank stats, the csv opened into excel and everything was fine. This week, one campaign data will not export other than purely in comma deliniated and will not translate to colums in ecel. A second campaign does export directly to excel but the data showing (on 27th June) is for the 22 february (report created march 1). so all my spread sheets for position analysis are up the creek and I cant even get last weeks positional report on my key domain. any thoughts??

Historical error info on SEOMoz?
Is it possible to get a report of errors that were on a site back in April? Does SEOMoz keep that data available? There was a big decline in the number of errors on one of my sites and I'm trying to go back and see what it was. --Steve
