No backlinks reporting in MOZ OSE?

Thanks Tawny,
It has been well over a month and I am not new to using MOZ but simply trying to figure out how long the latency is... I will read up on the API. Thank you for the information.

Hey there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here. I think I can help explain why you're not seeing all the same links you might see with other tools. It has to do with our Mozscape Index, which powers Open Site Explorer.
Open Site Explorer and the Link Analysis page of campaigns are both tied to our Mozscape index, which tends to update roughly once a month.
Just a few points on how we compile our index:
- We grab the most recent index.
- We take the top 10 billion URLs with the highest MozRank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains).
- We start crawling from the top down until we've crawled ~130 billion URLs
The idea here is that we're focusing on the highest-quality links we can find, coming from the most prominent pages of authoritative sites. So, while you may not see every link for a site within our index, we're aiming to report the most valuable ones available!
Most new sites and links will be indexed by our spiders and available in Mozscape and Open Site Explorer within 60 days, but some take even longer for many reasons - including the crawl-ability of sites, the number of inbound links to them, and the depth of pages in subdirectories. This biases our tool slightly in favor of newer links; Open Site Explorer only caches older links for about 180 days, so unless the tools re-crawl and index those links, they may fall out of our index after a while.
You can see our most recently updated schedule here as well as some more technical metrics on our Mozscape API Updates page. You can also see when the last and next updates happened on the Open Site Explorer (OSE) homepage at any time.
Since Moz focuses on quality of links over quantity, we are always focused on the most relevant links to display to our users. It's possible that Moz's index will leave out some of the lower-quality (non-link juice providing) links out of our index because of this. So, that might explain why you may see some discrepancies with what other tools may be showing.
I know this is a ton of information, so if you have any questions or if I didn't make anything clear enough, please don't hesitate to ask! Just shoot us a note over at [email protected] and we'll do our best to help you out.

Hello Sean!
Fist of all you should keep in mind that Moz, as any other backlinks profiler, crawls from time to time the web searching for those backlinks. Ahrefs does it every day, and some times several times a day. Moz does it once a month or so, and they usually find less backlinks (in number) than Ahrefs.
It is a good opportunity to mark and advise to never use only one tool/platform. Always complement with others. Nowadays, there 4 great tools and complement each other in the backlink profiling: Moz, Ahrefs, Majestic and SEMrush (just my opinion). It is really possible that in the last crawls your site wasnt in the radar of moz's crawls. It might be because of not being linked enough or not being linked in any way from the bunch of pages that RogerBot (the Moz's crawler) starts its crawls.
You should be worried about OSE not showing your backlinks. They will eventually be indexed in.Hope I've helped.
Best luck!

Moz Pro: Filter inbound links by partial anchor text?
My site has been targeted by a spam farm with hundreds of different domains, all linking to images on our CDN with similar variations of anchor text, eg: get free high quality hd wallpapers wedding cake makers
Link Explorer | | James_NZ
get free high quality hd wallpapers hairstyle makeover
get free high quality hd wallpapers living room cafe
etc Is it possible within Moz Pro to filter all incoming links with anchor text including "free high quality hd wallpapers" so that I can disavow all of the domains en masse? So far I've only been able to display/download the list of links exactly matching the full anchor text which is very time-consuming with 100+ variations. Regards,

Open Site Explorer metrics report says we have 9 linking root domains, but way more than 7 are listen. What gives?
When I run a report on my website in OSE (SelectAccount" metrics tells me we have 7 "established" root domains and 9 total links. But the detailed report below has many dozens of links. What is metrics telling me?

Does Moz have anything similar to ahrefs batch analysis tool?
I am wanting to do analysis of a whole bunch of URLs at once - i know ahrefs already has a very good tool for this - but I don't really want to have to pay the $79 a month if moz has something similar? I know it has the OSE. Can I do batch analysis in this? Thanks

OSE Advanced Reports - behaving inconsistently
Yesterday, there was an error message on the Advanced Reports tab in OSE: "Oops! It looks like our system is temporarily down. Please check back soon." That cleared up after a couple of hours. After that, I ran an Advanced Report that I run on occasion, and it only returned 3500 links, whereas it normally returns around 23K. Since then, I've run the same report 9 times in total over the course of about 1 day, and each time the number of links keeps increasing. 3500, 10150, 21550, 25400, 28650, 35450, 37400, 38200, 50375. I'm wondering what is happening? I want to do some evaluating of my backlinks, however I'd prefer to work on a "complete" list of links and the number of links keeps going up, when generating reports using the same criteria. When can I expect Advanced Reports to be "stable" where it's producing roughly the same number of links? Also, I opened up a support ticket on this with Moz.com over 24 hours ago, and haven't received any response. I've updated the ticket 2 times now, but no response. Disappointing they are not responding to support tickets. Thanks.

Updating OSE data
Hello Moz, I was wondering if anyone knows how Moz goes about updating their OSE data? I've been doing some link building that past couple of weeks, and I notice that the number of "just discovered" links will update every time I gain a new link, however, the "Linking domains" number doesn't (or maybe, rarely) update. I've checked through the "Linking domains" list to see if the link is there, but none of the links I've just recently obtained have shown up under that metric. Does anyone have any insight on this or is anyone experiencing the same issue? Thanks for reading!

External Followed Links report
I would like to know, how do I get a report with the TOTAL amount of my external followed links. When I look on "Link Metric" it shows me: External Followed Links 2,951 But when I looked on Inbound links (only follow / only external), it shows me only 645. Why is that and how do I get the total from 2.951? Thanks
