Help optimizing website for speed
-
Hello,
My website is www.likechimp.com and is a University project. I need to optimise the website for speed as the bounce rate is fairly quick - I feel this could be due to how long it takes web site to load? Any tips in increasing internet speed. I am willing to higher someone if they feel they can help!
Thanks,
L

The bounce rate of course results from an endless number of variables. Have you checked your site speed for your intended audience in the 'Behavior' section of Google Analytics? If it's anywhere near something like 10 seconds, then it could be affecting bounce rate by an appreciable amount. But, if it's less than 10 seconds, then I'm willing to bet that the consequence of speed on bounce rate is marginal.
To truly improve your bounce rate, you may need the assistance of someone in UX/UI or conversion optimization.

Hi xlucax,
You ask a question that does not have a simple answer. There could be many things impacting the slow rendering of your website.
I can see it is a Wordpress website and fortunately, there is much help available. I have curated a bunch of tools and articles on Pinterest that will help you diagnose opportunities for improvement and pull together a plan to speed the site. Here's a link - https://www.pinterest.com/beseenontop/speed-up-your-website/. Then, if you have specific questions, feel free to come back here again and ask.
If you're looking to hire someone to do this for you, Moz has a long list of recommended companies. Start there.
Good luck!

Instructional Videos on Separate Websites
Am I doing this correctly? We have 3 websites and shoot a lot of instructional videos on how to use our products. I build a webpage for the video and put it on all three websites, using rel="canonical" on 2 of the videos pages, pointing to the single most important page, is this the right method? TY

How does Google Detect which keywords my website should show up for in the SE?
When I checked my Google Webmaster Tools I found that my website is showing up for keywords that I didn't optimize for ... for example I optimize my website for "funny pictures with captions", and the website is showing up for "funny images with captions". I know that this is good, but the keyword is dancing all around, sometimes I search for "funny pictures with captions" and I show up in the 7th page, and some time I don't show up. and the same goes for the other keyword. of course I am optimizing for more than two keywords but the results is not consistent. my question is how does Google decide which keywords you website should show up for? Is it the on-page keywords?, or is it the off-page anchor text keywords? Thank you in advance ...

Is there a way to export the On-page Optimization report data to Excel?
I am preparing recommendations for my client's Webmaster from the On-page Report Card. I am integrating them into a larger Excel spreadsheet with other recommended changes. So many SEO Moz reports can be exported to Excel. Is this an exception, or am I missing something? It would really save me a lot of time and effort.

Creating optimized content: how to standardize the process?
Hello there, we are creating the new content for a website. For each web page we have created a “Pages file” to have the advantage of the spell checker. For each page, in the “Pages file” we have written the title tag (70 characters) and the meta description (155 character), so we have a kind of “template” like this in every page: title tag meta desciption text content (included the alt of the images inside the text) Every page is optimized for a single keyword/keyword phrase. What we wanna know from you guys if does exist a kind of “best practice” to test keyword density to avoid keyword stuffing penalities. In our case we opted to use “Pages” as editor, does exist a “standard Numbers/Excel spreadsheet” to understand if a keyword is over optimized in a page and so might look spammy? And in your opinion guys, what’s the best way to standardize the process of creating optimized content? Take care and thank you in advance for sharing your experience. YESdesign guys.
