Missing HTTP response
-
Hi guys,
Might be a dumb question but I'm not seeing a solution at the moment. I have this UA code online to start measuring cross-domain for a couple of websites. When I do a test, a missing HTTP response message appears.
Anyone notices any errors that could retrieve this message? This is my code (dummy):
Thanks,
Sander -
I think the problem is that this line: (window,document,'script','///analytics.js','ga'); includes '///analytics.js' rather than 'https:///analytics.js' The "https:" is missing, so the script does not load and the hit is not sent to GA.
Do you know where your code snippet is coming from? If you look in GA under Admin > Property > Tracking Info > Website tracking, you should see that the snippet includes the "https:"

The code looks ok on first sight. I assume you are checking the code on one of the domains - and not on domain-test.be or something similar. Did you try the Chrome analytics plugin to check the errors that are generated?
If you don't want to disclose the site - send the url in pm & I'll have a look.Dirk

When migrating to https should you unlink the verified http version from my GA account?
Hi We had a new site design at the end of April and at the same time changed to https. Over the last 6 months, according to our analytics account the traffic has dramatically dropped especially from mobile. We were at 3607 new visitors from mobile in April and now 32! in September. Technically (other than page speed and some meta issues that I'm aware of) there doesn't initially appear to be anything wrong. I have just been into search console and notice that the old http site still has the GA code on it, could it be that this is why the data is showing such a massive drop? Should we have taken that off when we migrated the site? The same analytics account is also on the new site. Thanks in advance Janine

Lots of missing main keywords from Search Console
Hello Moz Community, A while back I noticed in Google Search Console that the volume of impressions and clicks dropped off a cliff. I also noticed that this was for primary head keywords that generally had a decent volume of impression share. The natural initial reaction was 'oh, I must have lost those rankings' but upon checking I realized these rankings are still in existence. Admittedly most are page 2 or 3, but still within the confines of being captured in GSC. Is there a logical reason why these keywords have just gone from search console? An example keyword would be something like 'online football management game' and the website is https://www.worldelitesoccer.com There is 0 queries in my search console data that includes the word 'football'. Thanks, Ben

Internal Referral Traffic Issue due to https/http?
Hi Mozzers, we´re running a secured https account section on our website including a messaging center where lots of non secured own URLs are being shared among the users. Is there a possibility that a user clicking on one of the shared URLs within the https section triggering another session thats been counted as direct traffic? Thanks for your help! Greets

Google Analytics Set-Up for site with both http & https pages
We have a client that migrated to https last September. The site uses canonicals pointing to the https version. The client IT team is reluctant to put 301 redirects from the non-secure to the secure and we are not sure why they object. We ran a screaming frog report and it is showing both URLs for the same page (http and https). The non-secure version has a canonical pointing to the secure version. For every secure page there is a non-secure version in ScreamingFrog so Google must be ignoring the canonical and still indexing the page however, when we run a site: we see that most URLs are the secure version. At that time we did not change the Google Analytics setup option to use: "https" instead of "http" BUT GA appears to be recording data correctly. Yesterday we set up a new profile and selected "https" but our question is: Does the GAnalytics http/https version make a difference if so, what difference is it?

Why seomoz shows me "missing meta discription" on this plugin: http://villasdiani.com/wp-content/plugins/dopbsp/frontend-ajax.php ? Should I edit? how?? IIs it posible??
Good day to all! I am very confuse about results on seomoz Crawl Diagnostics Summary, especially with 6 Crawl Warnings Found. It says title too short: http://villasdiani.com/category/mombasa/, http://villasdiani.com/category/watamu/ , http://villasdiani.com/sitemap/ why would Google punish me for this??? why should I make longer title for sitemap? or Watamu? It is the name of the place - Watamu or Mombasa. It is very confusing for me. I have very big mess with the website and it is not ranking:-( what I have done:-( and is it possible to meta description for this plugin: http://villasdiani.com/wp-content/plugins/dopbsp/frontend-ajax.php how?? I even do not know where is it.

I have data missing in Google and don't know who to turn to for help
Hi everyone, I know this isn't the 'Google help forum' but I'm stuck and I hope someone here might be able to point me in the right direction. For a period last month - Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th November Google Analytics reports our site as having 0 visits. In addition we have two days which were strangely low - Weds 21st 105 visits, Weds 28th Nov 78 visits. We normally get between 1000 and 1200 visits on a weekday from a global audience (I know that was the Thanksgiving weekend, but the US accounts for ~10% of total traffic). Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do? The "report a bug" board on the Google help forum has a few entries like this, people with 0 visits shouting "help!" into the void with no response. Ideas?
