Whats (Other) traffic in Google Analytics?
-
When I look through all our clients, a few are receiving the majority of their traffic from (other). [ Acquisition > Channels > (Other) ]. The only option in (other) is "website" or "offline", whatever that may be. And even weirder, the avg session duration is 0:00.
Any idea what this may be?
-
I second what Alick300 says about the channel setup.
As the help article referred to above mentions, it is possible to change the channel grouping. If you look into the "other" channel grouping, it could show you what kind of traffic this really is.
Referring to the av. session duration, It could be that you have a case of bot traffic or ghost spam in your analytics. You can see some suggestions to solve this if this is the case on https://mza.bundledseo.com/blog/stop-ghost-spam-in-google-analytics-with-one-filter and https://www.optimizesmart.com/geek-guide-removing-referrer-spam-google-analytics/.
Hope this helps

Hi Manish,
When Google doesn’t know where to put a specific source / medium of traffic, it falls into this (Other) channel.
Here is full details of (other) @ https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1009671?hl=en

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Google Analytics Goals - Button Tracking
Does anyone know if there is a really easy way to track a button in Google Analytics yourself? It seems that most button click goal setups involve some use of tricky code and I'm wondering if there is a much easier way to do this that will allow us to simply setup and track certain button clicks as goal conversions in Analytics. Your help here is much appreciated!

Need help with excluding IP addresses in Google Analytics
In Google Analytics, are you able to add more than 1 IP address to an exclude filter? I found this article, http://www.creare.co.uk/filter-multiple-ip-addresses-in-google-analytics, but wasn't sure if it was the right way to do this or if I should create a new filter for each IP address. Also, when I try to create a new filter, it only will let me select from a list of profiles I have created whereas on other accounts I've been able to create several new filters without any problems. Does anyone know why this might be?

Behavior Flow vs. All Pages report in Google Analytics
In the interest of determining why our ecommerce site isn't converting, I've been spending some quality time with GA. I've suspected that our front page is part of the problem, especially where our organic traffic is concerned (we get a good deal of referral traffic from a link on an OEM's site). According to the Behavior Flow report under the Behavior section of GA, organic traffic to our home page is hemorrhaging (roughly 60% bounce rate). But when I went to the All Pages report (Behavior > Site Content > All Pages) and looked at organic traffic to our home page, then looked at the Medium as a secondary dimension, I'm getting a bounce rate of 35%. Why the massive discrepancy? Can somebody assist?

How Can I Record .zip Traffic in Google Analytics
The company I am with shows traffic coming in to .zip files in Google Analytics. The traffic being recorded stopped a while back, but I know people are still downloading/visiting these .zip ULRs. I'm not sure how they were recording/tracking the .zip URLs (in Analytics) before, but I'd like to track them once again. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks

Google Analytics Best Practice Set up for Clients
Hi When setting up new Google Analytics accounts for clinets what is the preferred/best practice. At present we have our own company google account and add new clinets this way (to our account) - the disadvantage with this, we can only grant them limited account access otherwise they would be able to view all the accounts we cretaed. Plus we can't link their adwords to the GA account we cretaed them. Is it best practice to set the client up with their own Google Account and then we just link to their account. Advise would be appreciated, thank you.
