Geo-target .ag domain?
-
Hi Guys,
We are looking to purchase a .ag domain for a agriculture website, we want to target two countries Australia (primary) and United States.
So the main site e.g. www.farming.ag (will target Australia)
While the www.farming.ag/us/ sub-folder will target the United States
From my understanding through after reading this: https://www.name.com/domains/ag .ag is for countries Antigua and Barbuda. So i was wondering can you even geo-target to Aus or even the sub-folder to United States in search console?
Any advice would be very much appreciated!
Cheers.

Sorry to tell you, .ag is not a recognized generic TLD. If you put your site on a ccTLD (country specific TLD), you cannot change the targeting to something outside of that country.
https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/62399?hl=en
That link as a list of ccTLDs that they see as generic like .io, but .ag is not one of them. You will need to use a different TLD, a generic one, for your plan to work.

Any domain can be targeted to any country you want. Take for example the popular io TLD, which is assigned to the British Indian Ocean Territory, however it has been adopted by tons of technology apps. Same happens with many other TLDs.

Sub Domain Usage
I see that the gap uses gap.com, oldnavy.gap.com and bananarepublic.gap.com. Wouldn't a better approach for SEO to have oldnavy.com, bananarepublic.com and gap.com all separate? Is there any benefit to using the approach of store1.parentcompany.com, store2.parentcompany.com etc? What are the pros and cons to each?

Choosing root domain for a subdomain
We own two root domains in the .edu space. According to Open Site Explorer, one has a domain authority of 76, while the other has a DA of 94. We operate a collection of degree microsites as subdomains of the lower-ranking root domain, e.g. www.degreename.domain76.edu. All other things being equal, would these sites benefit if we migrated them to www.degreename.domain94.edu? The question seems to hinge on whether subdomains inherit any of the root domain's authority, and the answers I have seen to that question are "sometimes" and "maybe". Lastly, as an alternative, would we realize greater SEO improvements by moving the degrees to a directory structure under domain94, i.e. www.domain94.edu/degrees/degree-name? Thank you for your help!

Why is wrong domain being indexed?
We have 2 domains: revolve.com and fwrd.com (unrelated to each other, but hosted on the same server). If you do a site search for revolve.com but enter a designer brand that is only carried on FWRD (not on Revolve), the domain "revolve.com" pops up in the SERP, which is redirected to FWRD.com. Ex. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=site%3Awww.revolve.com isabel marant Why is Google indexing the revolve.com pages, which don't actually exist? Thanks.

Two Domains, Same Products/Content
We're an e-commerce company with two domains. One is our original company name/domain, one is a newer top-level domain. The older domain doesn't receive as much traffic but is still searched and used by long-time customers who are loyal to that brand, who we don't want to alienate. The sites are both identical in products and content, which creates a duplicate content issue. I have come across two options so far: 1. a 301 redirect from the old domain to the new one. 2. Optimize the content on the newer domain (the strongest of the two) and leave the older domain content as is. Does anyone know of a solution better than the two I listed above or have experience resolving a similar problem in the past?

Multiply domains and duplicate content confusion
I've just found out that a client has multiple domains which are being indexed by google and so leading me to worry that they will be penalised for duplicate content. Wondered if anyone could confirm a) are we likely to be penalised? and b) what should we do about it? (i'm thinking just 301 redirect each domain to the main www.clientdomain.com...?). Actual domain = www.clientdomain.com But these also exist: www.hostmastr.clientdomain.com www.pop.clientdomain.com www.subscribers.clientdomain.com www.www2.clientdomain.com www.wwwww.clientdomain.com ps I have NO idea how/why all these domains exist I really appreciate any expertise on this issue, many thanks!

Domain changed 5 months ago still see search results on old domain
Hi, We changed our domain from coedmagazine.com to coed.com in April'13. Applied 301 redirects on all pages, submitted 'change of address' to google but we still see site:coedmagazine.com fetching 130K results on google as opposed to site:coed.com fetches 40K results. Can anybody here throw some light on what might be going wrong? [ Site runs on wordpress, hosted with wordpress as well ] thank you

What would be the best domain choice?
Hello I got a website www.keywordCA.com and I'm ranking #1 spot on "keyword" but what I notice if you have the exact match you get more site links and etc. Like this keyword that match with my domain name "keyword CA" The ideal name will be www.keyword.com but is taken and the owner don't want to sell the domain (at least he is not using it, is just parked) and I also got the domain www.keyword.net Do you think www.keyword.net will be much better than KeywordCA.com in order to get more exposure and google will generate more site links?
