Wrong image shown to represent brand in mobile search
-
The image I’ve attached is a screenshot of what shows up on mobile when I do a branded search for one of my clients.
We have a Youtube video on the homepage featuring Harry Connick Jr. The video is directly under the hero image on the homepage, and the thumbnail for the video is the image that Google is pulling into the SERP.
I don’t want this image in the SERPs. I’ve marked up the logo with schema but that doesn’t seem to be helping. Is there any other schema markup I can use to remedy this? What else I can do to influence which image Google pulls?

Hi Barret. I think you can try to change the video thumbnail on YouTube. It would be necessary to access as administrator the account where the video is. Then you would have to do the following steps:
- Sign in to YouTube.
- Go to Creator Studio > Video Manager.
- Next to the video, click Edit.
- On the left of the preview screen, choose a thumbnail.
- Click Save changes.
You can try doing another search and see if that forces Google to use the thumbnail.

Use Internal Search pages as Landing Pages?
Hi all Just a general discussion question about Internal Search pages and using them for SEO. I've been looking to "noindexing / follow" them, but a lot of the Search pages are actually driving significant traffic & revenue. I've over 9,000 search pages indexed that I was going to remove, but after reading this article (https://www.oncrawl.com/technical-seo/seo-internal-search-results/) I was wondering if any of you guys have had success using these pages for SEO, like with using auto-generated content. Or any success stories about using the "noindexing / follow"" too. Thanks!

Hide sitelinks from Google search results
Does anyone have any recommendations on how you can tell Google (hopefully via a URL) not to index that page of a website? I have tried through SEO Yoast to hide certain sitemaps (which has worked to a degree) but certain functionalities of Wordpress websites show links without them actually being part of a "sitemap" so those links are harder to hide. I'm having an issue with one of my websites - the sitelinks that Google is suggesting are nowhere near the most popular pages and I know that you can't make recommendations through Google not to show certain pages through Search Console. anymore. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Mobile webpages
Should mobile pages get their own unique meta title? The meta I see on mobile search results is pulled from my desktop page and the mobile page does not include the title meta tag.

Does image domain name matter when using a CDN?
Has anyone does studies on using a different CDN domain name for images on a site? Here is an example:
Technical SEO | | findwellor ![](<a)http://cdn.mydomain.com/image.jpg> mydomain.com ranks highly and many images show up in Google/Bing image searches. Is there any actual data that says that using your real domain name for the CDN has benefits versus the default domain name provided by the CDN provider? On the surface, it feels like it would, but I haven't experimented with it.

301 redirect and search engines
How long until 301 redirects get recognized by search engines? I noticed my link on Google isn't forwarding over to my new domain even after the 301 redirect. If I go to the site directly, the 301 redirect works. Anyone know how long it takes for search engines to pick it up? Thanks!

Google Search Results and Trailing Slash
I noticed that when I search a page; Google is returning my search results without a trailing slashing. I have my site setup to adding a trailing slash and redirect to one if it is not. So http://www.oxygenconcentratorstore.com/inogen-one-g3 redirects to site:http://www.oxygenconcentratorstore.com/inogen-one-g3/ I just did a search for site:http://www.oxygenconcentratorstore.com/inogen-one-g3/ and the only result is the non-trailing version. See attached. All internal links and sitemap include a trailing slash. Should I be concerned about this?? I am concerned that it could be hurting my search results. Any help or feedback would be awesome. trailingslash.jpg
